The pizza here rivals any pizza I’ve had in Austin or Aspen. It takes a little while to get your order, but they had quite a few large parties the night we were there. I don’t know what the pizza is like anywhere else in AF, but we thought it was awesome.

Family of 4 visiting Angel Fire for the first time. At first we tried to go to this place around d 1pm but the restaurant was closed even with the posted hours said it was open till 2 for lunch. Locals mentioned that the owner sometimes closes the establishment if by noon if he is not satisfied with traffic. They were open at 4pm for the dinner traffic. We decided to try some of the local business and since this place was close to the Lodge, we ventured in :) The place is pretty run down, very small operation… We ate in, and ordered buffalo chips, two medium pizzas and an order of spaghetti. The Buffalo chips were ok, it is basically thick cuts of potatoes deep fried… They served the spaghetti burnt(see pic), guess they left the hot plate to long in the oven. The pizza was great… The regular crust is huge… But worth it. Next time we will order the pizza to go… But then again there are pizza places in the resort and town which we will try, because others(including locals) say is much better…

It is a little expensive but so are most places around here. We read a lot about the bad service there and we could not disagree more. Everybody was friendly and fast. The pizza was delicious and the garlic knots(we ordered a side of marinara sauce with it) were amazing. I had the thin crust and the others ordered the regular, we all loved it. The sizes are also really good. The atmosphere was cozy and casual.

We loved this yummy place! We tried the other pizza place in town and were extremely disappointed! We got ours to go but I wish we could’ve eaten in the restaurant. It was cozy and warm and a cold beer with the pizza would’ve been great. I like the atmosphere! The staff was friendly and helpful. They were very informative on pizza size, crust style, etc. we chose an XL cheese and an XL pepperoni on the«thin crust» it was perfect! It’s not cardboard thin as you may imagine. We also got a small«The Works» pizza on the regular crust(a bit thicker) and a dozen of the famous«garlic knots» and asked for marinara sauce for dipping. Soooo yummy. It was more than enough to feed our large family. Best pizza in town!

Thin crust pizza was good, house garlic Italian dressing was tasty, and homemade garlic rolls were really good. Staff was fine — not super friendly but ok. Not cheap but reasonable for a resort. Definitely homemade ingredients.

This was one of the worst restaurants i have ever been to, the pizza was horrible, the place was dirty and the service sucked. I should have left when i walked in but thought i would give it a chance based on other Unilocal, dont waste your time

Pizza is decent, waitstaff is very nice, but the owners temper is something that I will not tolerate again. Screamed at me –twice-to«get out» of the cooler where the Parmesan cheese was kept– not on the tables where every other pizza joint keeps theirs. Was a complete embarrassment to us, the other customers and his employees. Refused to apologize after it was over. I will continue to go to Angel Fire but will NEVER set foot in the Pizza Stop again. Try Angel Fired Pizza instead.

Our experience here was so ridiculous that we’ll be laughing about this for a LONG time, after leaving none in our party could quiet figure out, «what the heck just happened?» Maybe they get a +1 there, for sarcastic entertainment… We decided to check out this place after numerous people recommended their pizzas, and maybe they are in fact fantastic, but unfortunately we never made it that far. I’d strongly recommend ordering to go; that is if you want to take a risk and trust such an incompetently managed restaurant to safely handle food preparation. Strike one — inside of the place was dirty, food scraps were on the tables and seats and the whole place seemed somewhat unkept; but ok, we let that pass because usually you shouldnt judge these places by their cover, some awesome food comes from«dirtyish» hole-in-the-wall restaurants. Strike two — the guy helping us had NOCLUE how to take orders, nor did he seem to care, he was able to figure out what we wanted only after we practically spelled and gestured the names of the items we wanted several times. Fair enough, maybe he struggles with these things, we figured we’d give him a chance. Strike three — after struggling to get our drink orders in, our waiter returned to check our IDs, their policy is to card everyone supposedly, mind you none of us were youngins, ranging from mid thirties to 60s, not a chance in hell one of us was under 21. One of us didn’t have their ID, which meant no beer for him; no restaurant has EVER had a problem with this because common sense and reality is usually a little bit more prevalent. Pity strike four — only one of the beers was available, usually this wouldnt be a big deal but with things heading south fast so we decided we would close our order and move on to another restaurant. We informed the guy that we just really wanted drinks and just to get us the check whenever he gets a chance. Strike out — after Pizza Stop only managed to kind of get us 1⁄3 of the items ordered so far with sub-half-assed service(not the greatest success rate here folks), what I assume was the owner stomped by and asked us if we were going to order something to eat, to which we stated our intention was just to have a beer and be on our way. At this point the owner angrily grabbed the single succesfully served beer which had 6oz consumed from the table and stated we couldnt just have beer. We offered to pay, which he declined and stomped into the back. Ooooohkaaay, learn to run a business and get your liquor license in order bud. Thanks for the free beer though!

Seriously good pizza! Don’t miss the garlic rolls either. Great local spot that beats the resort by a mile(and it’s within walking distance). Super friendly service with down-to-earth local charm.

Limited pizza selection, and $ 10 higher than AngelFired Pizza next to Lowes! The place is grungy, dirty and the food is nothing to write home about. They have a great location and a decent menu other than for just pizza, but the toppings were scarce and again, too overpriced! $ 27 for a large! OUCH!

Awesome pizza and garlic rolls. The crust is so fluffy and delicious. I just wish we didn’t have to ask for things like plates and they brought us one whopping plastic fork and knife to use for the entire table. I noticed a previous reviewer say that he didn’t like seeing out of towners be rude to the locals, but we(the out of towners) didn’t get a very nice reception when we walked in either. It goes both ways.

Why this place wasn’t jam packed, I have no idea. The owner’s been crafting pies for over two decades, and you’d never be able to tell pizza baking at high altitudes is difficult. Real cheese, crispy fluffy bread, and well seasoned meats make this a far superior option to the food at the resort. Shuttle service means there’s no excuse not to pay this establishment a visit. Be aware they shut down at one o’clock some days after lunch service! Don’t get there late cuz then ur gonna have to go back to the resort cafeteria! Yuck!

This is, without doubt, the best pizza in Angel Fire. After eating our pizza for dinner we got another one to go, seriously good stuff !

Food was good. Atmosphere was wonderful! Let me explain… The best thing about eating out while on vacation(even when you have a full kitchen and groceries waiting at the condo) is the atmosphere and seeing how jerky out-of-towners are to the local workers. We sat down in a DOUBLE booth next to a family of 3 adults and 3 children. The older man in the group was grumpy! he and his family ate most of their food without complaint, but when they received their ticket and realized that they charge gratuity on a party of 6 or more(which is really normal when in a tourist town) he was not pleased. He asked for the manager, and the manager explained that children count in the party, children matter! The man grumbled, he said he didn’t want to pay and asked for to go boxes, packing up all of their left overs. The manager got their attention as they left, saying«if you didn’t like the food, why are you taking it to go?» and asked for the leftovers back. And asked them to leave without paying. In my opinion that is the best way to deal with a-holes who don’t really want to pay for their meals! We asked for the manager, high fived him and praised him for not taking flack from that customer. Also, in New Mexico they will not serve you alcohol unless you present a VALIDID, and will not HAND you a beverage, because it’s the LAW. So when a table behind us asked for alcohol, they turned down a 45 year old woman for having an expired license, and went on about laws in texas. blahblah. i respect them for abiding with the law because they have to to keep their establishment open! Aside from the great management and waitstaff, the food was yum. Our party of 5 enjoyed the torpedo sub, meat mountain, two greek salads, some knotted garlic bread, and a cheese pizza. Plenty of toppings, two different kinds of crust(regular and thin) and at least 10 different kinds of subs. Greek salad, side salad & some meat smörgåsbord salad. They offer several different bottles of beer, and a few select wines.
