I got the trout and shrimp scampi which was delicious! But my husband and son got the chili which they both say was overpowered by the green chile peppers. The service was horrible. The server did not paY attention to us. I will say the owner I believe it was is very sweet and she stopped by our table several times to check on us. Absolutely LOVED the live music. I enjoyed it despite my husbands bad experience and the poor service.

We ate here on New Years Eve. We were early for our reservations, but the staff brought in a table and seated us right away. Very friendly wait staff and another manager checked on us often. The food was outstanding. The Elk Osso Bucco was excellent. Tender, bone in and in a savory sauce. Nice selection of beers. I highly recommend this restaurant.

We came on Christmas Day for dinner as a family. I saw the previous reviewer state that they planned to go to Elements but changed their mind because of the lady’s rudeness ok the phone. I couldn’t believe it. The same thing happened to me! I’m so glad we chose H2’s! The lady was so helpful and friendly with taking our reservations… We had to push them back later bc we were stuck in snow in Red River. She had no problem and accommodated us with ease. She remembered us when we came in, seated us promptly. The entrance is tricky, I tried to go in some locked front doors. Walk down the right side of the building for the entrance! Our server was attentive and helpful with the menu. We had the salsa and Ribeye chili for appetizers. Both incredible! Our menu consisted of a filet steak served with mashed potatoes and veggies(no steak sauce needed) it was tender and flavorful, I cut it with my butter knife! We had the Trout and Shrimp Scampi dinner, flavorful, flaky, mild and amazing! We had the H2 burger it was yummy and served with some of the best French Fries our family ever had! The Crab Mac & Cheese took the top honor! It’s rich and creamy and yummy. Everyone tries it and loved it. The kids even dipped their fries in the cheese sauce! Chicken strips for my younger kids: they loved them & didn’t leave a crumb. For dessert we had the molten chocolate cake and cheesecake with strawberry sauce. I asked for whipped cream & the chef made it fresh from scratch! Happy Hour is 4 – 6(even on A holiday!) our server was amazing, attentive and very friendly. He even helped us with driving tips for the next day.(Major snowfall came in while we were the last day!) I’m definitely happy with our choice and highly recommend it. You don’t have to worry about dress code here either. Come in your ski clothes! Thanks for making Christmas dinner fabulous! Can’t wait to return!

Not many places to choose from in Angel Fire but H2 Uptown had been recommended by a friend Steve Conrad at Angel Fire RV Resort. We missed Happy Hour but we’re told to go there for good entertainment and appetizers. Beer and wine only but nice selection. There were plenty of customers there on Wednesday night, so we easily found the restaurant situated down below a retail space. Inside there was Local art in the walls and a comfortable room. Also had an outdoor patio out back. We sat by the bar and had bacon wrapped shrimp appetizers which were good. I had the delicious fried cornmeal crusted ruby red trout filet with mashed potatoes and broccoli I. Would go back again for that! My husband had fish and chips but think my choice of as better. Lol Had good service and the manager came by to check on everything. Also I asked to hold one of the prettiest and sweetest babies I have ever seen for a few minutes while her Dad finished his meat!!! made my night perfect!

Best restaurant in Angel Fire and better than all we tried in Red River and Eagle Nest over past two decades. And only one open after 9! Food solid and staff could not be nicer.

Ate dinner here on a Tuesday night which is Tapas Night. Tapas Night means you will eat tapas; their menu, no choices. This wasn’t what we had hoped for, but had previously eaten at Hatcha’s several times and wanted to try the new H2 Uptown. The food was generally good and the plating was nice for a restaurant in such a small local. There were a few things we had minor issues with but none were deal killers. We’re not into the tapas culture so the feeling that we weren’t ever going to eat a real meal took a few courses to get through, but we left satisfied. The waiter we had was not the most competent fellow. He came by our table several times to figure out which course we were one. At one point the owner(we presume) stepped in to get us served. We would go back, just not on Tapas Night. Total for 4 tapas meals, 3 beers, 2 glasses of wine and tip = $ 150.

On another night it might have been different. Walked in and wasn’t greeted. Only 2 or 3 servers on, never saw a manager, server worked hard but had too many tables. Management did not prepare for the night nor did they show up to try and help the swamped servers. Food was good but the soups were luke warm, obviously sat for 5 or 10 minutes before anyone had a chance to run them out to the table. For the price of entrees the staff was sorely under staffed. This isn’t chilis or mcdonalds –even at those places I expect better management. Probably not a bad place when properly staffed, but I won’t be coming back.

My excitement to try the 4.5 star fine dining restaurant in Angel Fire quickly became a regret. The only reason this review has 2 stars and not 1 is because the waiter was great and was busting his butt to serve 10 tables at once. The food was not warm and incredibly overpriced. I didn’t complain or return my food because I felt so bad for the server and didn’t want to overwhelm him. This completely reflects on management. Unfortunately I will not be recommending or returning to this place.(Also a quick message to the hardworking waiter: quit this place and find a place where management respects and cares for their employees)

We ate at H2 tonight and it was delicious. My wife had orange balsamic chicken with grilled vegetables and she loved it. I had ribeye steak and it was cooked perfect. I would recommend H2 for anyone who wanted to have a delicious meal in Angel Fire.

Go for happy hour! They have really good honey shrimp on a bed of spicy rice that I really like. The margaritas are tasty. I also like their potato cakes. Cozy atmosphere– I personally don’t take the kids. It’s a good date place.

Mattie was our waiter today. This is his first day and he is excellent! Meredith met us when we arrived and was very friendly, very knowledgeable about the Angel Fire area. The food was good, the waiters very friendly and the atmosphere very welcoming.

The most genuine compliment we can provide is that we ate at H2 three times during our 1 week stay in Angel Fire. The reasons included the gracious hospitality of Megan and the rest of the staff and the very good food. The service was prompt but not rushed even though we arrived 30 minutes before closing on two occasions. The chef came out after dinner each night to inquire about our dinners. Our meals included the rib-eyes, pasta, elk sliders, Caesar salads, beer battered fish, rib-eye chili and tortilla soup. All were very good. H2 is our favorite for dinner in Angel Fire.

We were pleasantly surprised with our dinner here. They made a reservation for our party of nine. The service was very, very friendly. The duration from the time from when we ordered til our food was served was a bit long — but, like I said, we were a party of nine! For appetizers, we had the salsa combo(great!), bacon wrapped shrimp(spectacular!), and the elk sliders(delicious!). Most of us had filets for dinner and they were superb. My husband and bro-in-law had ribeyes, one cooked medium-rare, one medium-well, and they both came out perfectly. The kids had three cheese macaroni and cheese and cleaned their bowls! We’ll definitely return the next time we’re in Angel Fire.

We ate here in October 2014 over Columbus weekend. Service was great. But the food was almost inedible and pricey. We had the gelatinous osso buco and a steak with some sort of coffee ground rub that tasted like dirt. Appetizers were not good either. We miss the Roasted Clove.

We were referred here by the AFResort for a good steak. We were planning on Elements but I was treated so rudely on the phone we looked for something else for our party of 7. This place was on point from the amazing food to the excellent service. Several of us had the elk osso bucco which was absolutely exquisite and fell apart with the fork. The ribeye was divine(and were from Texas) and even the simpler fish and chips was perfect. The waitress was attentive, patient and refilled our water like 100 times with a smile. They brought out a pumpkin cheesecake for my son’s 20th birthday and sang to him. A super nice guy who seemed like an owner(?) came out afterwards to see how everything was. Perfect, memorable night.

Thank goodness! I’ve been needing a change from all the typical dining options in the area, and I’ve found it at H2 Uptown. I will gladly cross the valley for the«Black and Tan Onion Rings and Mushrooms» appetizer alone. The service was good; efficient and friendly. I had the bacon pesto chicken sandwich and my husband had the fish tacos. I’d caution you to thoroughly read the menu descriptions. I made the assumption that my sandwich would contain typical basil pesto, but it clearly says on the menu that it contains cilantro. It was quite good, just not what I expected. My husbands tacos looked delicious(I don’t eat fish!). They were fresh and colorful and he said they were tasty with no «fishy» taste. Happy customer!

My wife and I have searched all of Angel Fire for a great restaurant for dinner and drinks. From several other towns we were told that H2 Uptown was the place to go. From the moment we came in the door the room was elegant and well spaced. The atmosphere was quiet but every comfortable. They have a great wine bar with what my wife thought was the best prickly pear margarita. We both looked very hard at the menu and finally landed on the roasted chicken for my wife and the beef tenderloin tacos for myself. Both dishes were to die for and just the right size. We started our meal with chips and house salsa which was very good and the chips tasted homemade. Both my wife and I were pleasantly surprised with our entire experience. From the food to the drinks and right down to the wait staff(Karen was very pleasant and wonderful). Please anyone who is passing through or staying in Angel Fire must eat at H2 Uptown.
