La Casona

I have eaten at LaCasona on two different occasions.
The first time I went I had the fajitas. The waiter highly recommended them and I’m glad he did. Beef, Chicken and Shrimp along with a ton of veggies ! Excellent
The second time, I ordered the enchiladas. They were good as well.
Both times I was there, the place was packed. Service has always been good and even with so many customers, the wait for your food is fast.

So my coworker and I were heading to our hotel when I noticed this couple heading to their room with to go boxes. I asked them what was the best place to eat in town and the man said La Casona was the best Mexican food he had EVER HAD… I was taken back this 50+ year old man is saying he just had the best in his life… So here we go… This location is right off the main road Velasco. You notice they have two buildings apparently they were so popular the older building was to small. Walk inside to a typical Mexican restaurant atmosphere football (soccer) on nearly all the channels. We are greeted by a nice host. When our waiter gets to the table he is very professional. We both order margaritas 1800 with Grand Marnier on the rocks.
I ordered the super combo which is 3 different shrimp cooked three different ways. These were the best shrimp I have ever had at a Mexican restaurant. They were fresh, delicious and each shrimp had its own taste and texture. The rice was nothing special but the tortillas where on point. I didn’t get beans. Overall great experience professional staff and decent presentation. What separates this place was the shrimp. By the way my friend is a chef and he agrees. BEST SHRIMP…

My husband and I decided to give this restaurant another chance so we ordered takeout tonight. First of all the gentleman that took my order was so nice… The chicken quesadillas were delicious and my husband said his enchiladas verdes was delicious too… There were was extra rice and beans too… Thank you so much I’m glad this time was a great experience even though we had it to go… We will be back …

I already came twice here love there flan… is super delicious… and the shrimp fajitas super good as well… shrimps are huge… the shrimp cocktail super delicious lots of shrimp on them… it reminds me on Monterey Mexico… the cocktail… kids love there enchiladas… and hubby love there fajita… ask for the green salsa super delicious…

This place was awesome! Service may have been a little slow, but was fine for me on a relaxing Saturday night away from home. I requested a special plate due to my dietary restrictions (vegan), and they not only made it happen, but it was some of the best mexican food I’ve ever had. I may have to make the drive from Houston just to get this again!

I dread every time my coworkers want to eat here for lunch. The food is bland, the tea watered down and the ingredients look like they came straight from a can to my plate. I grew up in San Antonio and I can tell you this restaurant will be out of business there within 2 months. It seems this Tex-​Mex restaurant is only catering to the taste of Gringos.

I didn’t have high expectations when I came here and the food was as I anticipated. The red and green sauce was pretty liquidity. I ordered chicken fajitas and the chicken was pretty dry and not flavorful. However, the service was prompt and attentive.

I love LaCasona. They have, by far, the best Cheese Enchiladas and Mexican style Guacamole anywhere! I love, love, love their salsa and chips. Without a doubt they are my fav :)
I frequent the Lake Jackson restaurant but enjoy an occasional visit to the Angleton location as well.
Service is always good at both restaurants!

The service is great, the wait time isn’t to bad, food is and has always been good. Their Resturant in Lake Jackson burnt down, meaning a little longer wait time. All in all, I highly recommend LaCasona to everyone. Keep up the good work.

The service was great, but my chimichanga was the blandest I’ve ever had. The salsa was ok, not very spicy.

Great place, great food! Love everything we have tried. Waiters are really friendly and get you taken care of. You never have to wait on refills, chips or your check, which I appreciate. It gets busy! So we go after lunch on the weekends or before the dinner rush. There is additional parking next door when it’s busy– it’s a very short walk, nothing to fuss about.

I have eaten here a lot now. i like the fajitas and enchiladas Verdes with chicken. My boy likes the stuffed fried avacado (not a slimmers meal). Consistent and decent tex mex and a staple in Angleton.

It’s so funny to read other people’s opinions of food lol. I like this place the best in Angleton the service is always great never have had to wait to be seated always quick to bring chips and take orders. The food is good but like everyone has been saying it is standard tex-​mex. It is better than the other restaurants though.

Me and my momma are regulars and the waiters always take care of us! Definitely recommend the quesadillas, beef stuffed avocado, cheese enchiladas, and the margaritas are always brought out quick for mom! Always a go to place for lunch or dinner if you can’t decide where to go. I always go here for a family birthday dinner and the staff is awesome!

Been several times and it’s been good every time. We live their beef fajitas and chunky guacamole.

The service here was exceptional! Staff was super polite and attentive. The food is very tasty Tex-​Mex fare. I enjoyed my beef fajita tostadas! Everything was fresh and bright. The attention to detail here is commendable. Definitely worth the drive in from Pearland. I love their chips and salsa. The salsa is warm, rich, full of flavor and fresh herbs and veggies. Being from South Texas and traveling up North I was skeptical about trying Mexican Food but I must admit it was better than some of the places we got down in the South Texas area. The décor the staff and the atmosphere is awesome. The food was rich in flavors even the chips and salsa, the salsa was served hot in temperature which was a surprise to me but was outstanding. The plating is awesome itself as it says a lot about the restaurants reputation. If ever I’m in these area I will definitely come back and enjoy this place I could just imagine the alcoholic beverages (margaritas) which I didn’t get a chance to try out…

Meh… We ate here while visiting a friend in Lake Jackson. La Casona falls into the standard Tex-​Mex fare that just doesn’t really have anything special about it.
I got the Pollo Diablo, which is four pieces of chicken, Asadero cheese and a jalepeno wrapped in bacon. The chicken strips were TINY and each «wrap» was at least 75% cheese. Definitely not worth over $ 13, and not much more than an appetizer (it felt like they just added rice and beans to something off an appetizer menu). I would not get this again in the future.
Service was decent and friendly, and the restaurant was accommodating of a group of about eight of us.

the margartia’s…their mix is WAY off… i mean, when you order a don julio [on the rocks] and it taste bad… VERY bad… something is wrong
so, other than that… its a great place
