I should preface this review by saying that I have not visited the new location. I bought a groupon that was good for 10 classes and my first one was so bad that I haven’t returned to use the rest. My first problem with the studio was that everything was outdated(so this may have changed with the move). The studio smelled like mold, and the bikes were rickety and falling apart. I may have been able to overlook these issues if the class had been good; however, it was by far the worst spinning class I’ve ever been to. Our teacher didn’t have a playlist planned before the class, so there were several breaks inbetween songs while she picked out what she wanted to play next. Because she hadn’t planned anything, the set didn’t go to the music at all. The only instruction she gave was along the lines of ‘spin harder for 30 seconds’, or ‘turn it to the right for 30 seconds’. It was useless. The icing on the cake happened when she played the last song. Rather than ending the workout on a high note, she asked us to sing and dance along to the song while on our bikes. While it may have been fun in a different setting, that’s not something I want to do when paying for a workout. I can’t believe they are able to charge $ 12 per class!

I discovered Bodes in Balance about 6 – 7 years ago and go there for a spinning workout twice a week. It is the perfect place for an aerobic workout on a stationary bike. The teachers are quite knowledgeable and really know how to push you to your limits. Great workout! It is also a friendly and accepting environment making the workout a lot of fun. I highly recommend Bodies in Balance! Extra plus: it is right behind Stadium hardware so you can get whatever you need for your next DIY project right after you work out.
