Super yummy! Went today and it had such a great atmosphere. Food came out really quick and was delicious! I got two pancakes and an egg and they were awesome. Pancakes were huge! Prices were great and the staff was super nice.

We usually get the bi bim bop when we go and are never disappointed. Though I like to take out the spinach(if it is that, it’s the dark green stuff, I’m a bibimbop noob). I wish they’d cook the veggies in whatever they cook the chicken in. I got the ramen last time and was disappointed with it so that’s the docked star. I don’t have much to compare it to because I actually don’t like bi bim bop usually, but I can usually get through ¾ of this one before my taste buds remind me of that. I think that alone says something about the quality. The chicken is also super tasty and a safe option for people curious about the dish. I’d recommend trying the ingredients separately to make sure you don’t hate any of them before you mix them together. I think mine would have been ruined if I hadn’t taken the spinach out(my personal, picky preference). Those who like bibimbop should definitely enjoy this and come by Bells, and it’s on the cheaper side, too! Not to mention they are always so friendly and welcoming here.

First experience having Korean food. Had the Bi Bim Bob and it was excellent. Healthy dish and I cleaned the bowl. Would go back again.

For a great carry out on the deck with friends dinner, I ordered three chicken bi bim bop with extra chicken and once I had everything arranged on my own plates… wow. The reaction from the group exceeded my expectations. Actually, these folks have never ventured into the Korean fare that seems everywhere in town. Now, they can head over to Bells and order with confidence and variation. One thing though, keep your eyes on how they add up the bill at the register as you’re drooling. Human errors exist, though not with regards to carry out taste.

I’ve visited Ann Arbor three times and have eaten at Bell’s Diner on all three occasions – that’s how much I love this place. Before I fell victim to this one-sided affair, I’d heard rumors about Bell’s Diner from my colleagues. They’d disappear during lunch and come back flushed and satisfied, and they’d lust for the experience again the very next day. Soon, I couldn’t wait for *my* turn. When my boyfriend and I were invited to a birthday party in the A2, I seized the chance. Surrounded by tables of party appetizers and homemade goodies, all I could think about was Bell’s Diner and the hotness I was going to taste that night. I skipped to the car when we left. Located in its own lot, Bell’s Diner has a modest, whitewashed exterior that screams«mom-and-pop.» Inside, unique wall décor and figurines on shelves give the place a homey«diner» feel with a feminine touch. The hanging menu board listed an interesting variety of American and Korean foods(very unique for a diner!), but I already knew what I was getting that night: bibimbap. When the waitress came to take our orders, I opted for brown rice and for my eggs to be fried, and my boyfriend got the spicy chicken dish. When my hot rice medley finally came, I doused it *liberally* with gochujang(sweet and hot Korean pepper sauce) and dug in. It was love at first bite. Now I’ve had dolsot bibimbap(served in a sizzling«stone pot») and bibimbap served in ceramic bowls, but never in a gigantic stainless steel bowl. Being able to empty the sauce bottle and mix the contents so freely in such a light and spacy bowl definitely enhanced my meal experience. With bibimbap, it’s always nice to be able to dine like a slob without looking like one and leaving a place like a ricefield after a tornado. As for the boyfriend’s spicy chicken dish, it was«alright»(in his words). The chef was generous with the protein, but the dish was a bit too«saucy» for him. Since I was too full from my bibimbap to take a bite, I took his word for it. The next two times I had bibimbap at Bell’s Diner, I asked for the egg sunny-side up and much prefer the rich moistness of the yolk to the fully fried version. I also ordered half white rice and half brown rice for slightly more fiber, and it tasted just as good. As summer nears, a visit to Ann Arbor is due for us any day now and I can’t wait to plan what we’re gonna eat there. We really *should* try a new place, but TBH… bibimbap sounds pretty good right about now.

Bomb af Korean food. The place looks like grandmas house(quirky decorations, fake flowers etc) but the food is amazing. We finished all our food. Will come back

If you’re in Ann Arbor and craving for some authentic Korean food, look no further! Bell’s serves up the best that I’ve had around here. Whether you go for a tried and true classic(Bi-bim-bop) or any other dish(my favorites are the bulgogi or the ramen) you will be overly satisfied. The kimchi is great too! Any time I need my Korean fix I head here. I can’t personally speak for the breakfast and diner food here but friends I’ve been with have loved their traditional American fare, too. Whether you’re looking for a hangover cure, a Korean food fix, or just something different from your average Diners and Dives, check out Bell’s! 5 stars for sure!

I have never found this place a «go to» spot and my recent dining experience confirmed this. I know they are known for their bee bum boo and I decided to go there on a Sunday night a half hour before closing. I really feel businesses need to honor and respect their posted hours. We ordered quick and our food came out very fast, none of us ordered anything too complicated. I’m glad I had my back to the kitchen and staff but I didn’t feel welcome to enjoy my meal. the bill came quick, our change even fast as well as asking for a box. $ 10 for a bowl of bee bim bop? It was good but NOT that good. Needless to say I don’t think I will be back too soon. Good food but I never felt welcome.

My go-to here is a brown rice bibimbop with tofu and beef. You pay a little extra for adding a second protein, but I love tofu as well as marinated beef. All of the veggies in this dish are fresh and flavorful. I just wish that the hot sauce they served was more hot than sweet. Portions are HUGE and I can very easily make 2 meals out of one order of bibimbop. Such a little gem!

The food here is excellent, the wait staff is incredibly nice and attentive, and best of all, the American food is every bit as good as the Korean food, which is saying quite a bit, because their Kim chi is off the chain. My favorites: corned beef hash with poached eggs and rye toast with a side of Kim chi OR spicy steak ramen The house made hot sauce is also amazing.

Fast, cheap, and tasty! They’re a small diner with some good Korean food. And all the korean dishes are $ 10 for tons of food! I almost never finish the whole thing. The service is quick and friendly, but I recommend you don’t ask for a lot of special requests or changes. Not the highest quality food in the world, but it’s quick, delicious, and not expensive. And plus, the bibimbop(they’re signature dish) has lots of vegetables so it’s good for you, too. I eat there at least a couple times a month, and they are consistent and the food is always exactly what I want :)

Came here on the day after Christmas, and the place was empty, save for a few lonely souls with no where to go/no family to celebrate the holidays with. The interior has great character, as the place has cracked seats, old-school style seating, and random decorations. However, everything is still very clean and all the essentials are in place. Waitress was über friendly and is very attentive to you and your order. The other Unilocal reviews noted that the real gem of this place was the Korean food, and the diner food is just basic. So, we ordered two Bi Bim Baps and a side of madoo. Everything was real good. The madoo tasted crisp and light and had great flavor. Bi Bim Bap came with vegetables that were seasoned perfectly and beef that was out of this world. They give you quite a bit of rice, so be prepared for rice belly! This place is a manifestation of the quote of «Don’t judge a book by its cover.» If you seek healthy Korean Food that is delicious, Bell’s diner is your place! Brotips *Ask for a sunnyside egg. If you dont, you will get scrambled *Ask for a side of Kimchee. Otherwise, you won’t get any. *Brown rice is available *restrooms are in the back. *$ 10 for bi bim bap

Friendly staff, excellent food, but painfully slow service. We came in on a random Thursday night and we were encouraged to sit anywhere by the friendly lady who handed us two menus. TWENTY minutes went by, despite others around us being helped and served, and we were finally greeted at our table for drink and food orders. We both went the route of bibimbop with beef, brown rice, and an over easy egg and I was not disappointed at all. Completely worth the wait! The rice was tender, the egg oozing goodness, and it held all of the deliciousness of the other toppings perfectly together, singing in my mouth. Not to mention the slow burn of the house chili sauce that we could put on ourselves has me salivating just thinking about it. The aesthetics of the place could use some work but otherwise in the end, if you have time to spare, it’s now my go-to place for bibimbop but if you want to get in and out in a normal amount of time or you have stuff to do, you might choose somewhere else.

Great little hole in the wall! Very home-y and friendly staff, great home-cooking style food and banchan, great sizable portions. Don’t let the somewhat unusual menu(western breakfasts, soups, and. korean food) deter you. This is a real gem! We will be back again many times.

Bell’s is still a fiver with the best Korean Bibimbap in town. Had family visiting over the Fourth and decided to grab some Bib for breakfast. Ordered one with double beef and another with chicken. Don’t forget to specify brown rice and your egg on the sunny side or you’ll end up with white and scrambled. Apply your own hot sauce to taste. Awesome food in this simple abode is still a fiver. Highly recommended.

We ordered the bi-bim-bop with beef and the japchae, both with brown rice. Phenomenal. You wouldn’t even know this place exists by the look of it, but it’s a hidden gem amongst the lack of good cuisine in Ann Arbor.

We got carry out one morning, the breakfast food is nothing special in my opinion this is a spot to order one of the Korean dishes. I got the spicy chicken and ramen noodle soup. The soup was OK, it was pretty pricey for a pint. The spicy chicken was out of this world! A must over the bowl dish which is another popular favorite. The inside of this place is pretty small and cramped so I will use them for carryout only.

Come for the breakfast stay for the bibimbop. That’s what my boyfriend and I had here on a Saturday afternoon. Me? Breakfast. Eggs, ham, hashbrowns and a biscuit. All basic but pretty good. Although the biscuit was a nice change of pace from the typical«white, wheat or rye» toast offerings most places have. It was HUGE and a touch sweet. And they serve it until they close. BREAKFASTANYTIME!!! Anyway, it was good but not mind blowing. Basic in the best way possible. The real standout is the Korean part of the menu. My fella got the tofu bibimbop. I tried a few bites and really liked it. I think I’ll get it the next time but I prefer mine with beef. It was quite a hearty serving as well. I think he barely made it through half. The space is older and it shows. It’s got character, that’s for sure, but the seating has seen better days. Someone mentioned it felt like a cafeteria and that’s very accurate. But you don’t come for the ambiance. You come for the food. In general the menu is half American diner food(not just breakfast) and half Korean classics. So, if you and your dining partners are hankering for burgers AND kimchee this is the place to be.
