The Uptown Coney Island delivers exactly what you’d expect it to… a no frills B’fast at a reasonable price. We’ve eaten here for years and have never been surprised… good or bad. Just like their eggs over easy, Uptown’s service is also as consistent as Donald Trump’s bravado. No need to flag anyone down for a warm-up…they’re on it. Solid Coney — 3 stars.

Our favorite local diner that’s 3 minutes from our place. Service is always great, its obvious the owners care and pay attention to their guests leaving happy. Food is pretty consistent and delicious. They always make sure my food comes out as ordered and have no qualms correcting any issues.

Realistically this is a Coney Island… so you can’t be expecting to have gourmet food. They have awesome happy hour– yes they do serve beer and wine which is very unique for a coney. It runs from 3 – 6 during the week. On Mondays after 5pm they have $ 1 coney dogs and during the week from 3−5pm. I am a big fan of the Chicken Greek Salad. I have also had the Gyro pita, breakfast bagel sandwich, Uptown Pita, Eggs Benedict and that’s all that I can specifically name. All were very good. I think I would confidently say that anything you order on their menu will be delicious for a quick cheap meal.

This is a great Coney Island! I came here last week for breakfast and ordered a breakfast omlette and a coffee. My server was very attentive and always refilling my coffee — I sure do love my fresh, hot coffee! My food was served very fast and I was filled after finishing! Very pleased with my visit.

Fresh food, fast service, cheery employees. My waitress was very positive and cordial, and the other waitresses seemed the same. However, they could improve on hygiene and etiquette. Unfortunately, the person bussing dishes went directly from bussing to serving without washing her hands. Also, no one seemed to be wiping the tables just removing dishes and leaving crumbs and liquid visible from even across the room. I also saw the manager get some lady retrieve a crumpled receipt from the garbage. Minor etiquette point: if customers use condiments and menus during their meal, there is no need to organize the condiments and menus for the customers. It’s actually very strange and annoying to use things on the table then have the waitress come move them around the table. This was one of those experiences that makes me want to only eat at home or in 5-star restaurants. Tip to managers: review standard hygiene procedures.

Definitely the best Coney Island I’ve been to. The food is always good. I’ve had breakfast and lunch here and I’ve never been disappointed. I work close by and we often order carryout from here, it’s always great.

I already had lowered expectations walking in as this is a Coney Island and unfortunately, I have had poor experiences with their food in the past. However, I chose to eat here because, my car was at the Hyundai Dealership(across the street) for repairs and they said it would be at least an hour and suggested this place. I ordered a simple breakfast of 2 fried eggs, hash browns, and toast with a coffee. The eggs were over-cooked and rubbery. I asked for over-hard and yes it is possible to cook over-hard eggs without burning the edges and making them rubbery(I do it at my home all the time). The hash browns were also burnt. I don’t mean over-cooked…I literally mean they were burnt. Black burnt. The top layer was completely black. They were also unseasoned. They had absolutely no other flavor then the burnt taste and that of potatoes. The toast also had a pretty low quality and oily butter spread across it. The coffee was acceptable. The only reason I’m not giving this restaurant a one-star review is because, the waitress was so pleasant. She was greeting her customers by their names and genuinely a friendly person. She was attentive and helpful. She even offered to take the hash browns back(without being prompted) but, I declined. They are also super cheap. My meal and cappuccino ran me about $ 7. So yeah, bottom-line is you can eat here but, just keep in mind it is a Coney Island and go in with lowered expectations.

Great service and consistently well-executed Coney Island fare. Uptown Coney has become my go-to place for breakfasts(cinnamon French toast combo for only $ 7) and lunches. The place is bright, spotless and well managed. Perfect little coney /diner.

This is my favorite breakfast place for the weekends– it does get pretty crowded, but always amazing food and service. The veggie scrambler is an awesome vegetarian breakfast. And of course, their prices are great.

Food is great and so is their service. There is very little waiting and food is always fresh. The best coney island restaurant in the area.

The best breakfast in town! Definitely a «bang for your buck» joint. The omelettes are out of this world, and the pancakes are also delicious. The lunch and dinner menu are decent, but nothing above your typical coney island. Customer service is always friendly and reliable. Five stars for the breakfast alone.

For a real diner experience this is it. Everything is quick, a lot of help. This is my 6th time here and I’m normally in and out in less than 25 minutes. Good place to grab some food if your on the go.

Whenever I have my car serviced nearby, I always set up a 7am appointment for the vehicle along with the game plan of heading this vehicle towards the Uptown Coney Island. I’ve not been disappointed in the dozen or so times I’ve enjoyed the breakfast menu. First of all, the place is updated, clean and open. Muted TVs can be seen with subtitles. Nice touch. No blaring yap-yap. Instead, Ann Arbor’s 107.1FM plays in the background lending a hip touch to the place. Service… nice and professional, attentive and friendly. Food… filling, priced just right, and fast. By the time I’ve enjoyed my three eggs, hash browns, bacon, sausage and ham slice(toast, too), my vehicle is done, and this vehicle has been fueled… for another day.

I was so hoping to like Uptown more than I did because it’s the closest Coney Island to my house. So far it’s just kind of ok. I came in with my fella after a week of being housebound due to illness. I was happy to be out of the house but also not feeling so great that my appetite was truly back. In times like these I want some crazy comfort/kid food. So what did I go for? Chili cheese fries and chicken fingers, of course. The chili cheese fries came up and I’m not going to lie, they did not look appetizing. Chili never really looks all that beautiful but in this instance the chili was very dark and the cheese was buried under all of the meat. Luckily in this case the looks were deceiving as they actually tasted pretty good. The fries had a bit of a crispy batter on them that also gave them a nice crunch and the cheese was real shredded, melty cheese. Not the fake liquid stuff(although I shamefully do love that too). The chicken fingers, however, were sad. They were lukewarm and felt overcooked at the same time. Like they had been cooked a while before then reheated, left out to sit a bit, and then delivered to my table. A bit chewy, a bit cold, and not that great. I could tell that if they were hot, fresh out of the frier they would probably be pretty good but they were just a bit lacking. My fella got a gyro which I did not try but he reported as being decent. Since my sickness began I had been jonesing for some pudding so when I saw rice pudding on the menu I had to have it. The rice pudding was fab. The pudding itself was creamy, the rice was cooked perfectly al dente so it wasn’t overly mushy, and it was topped with plenty of cinnamon and whipped cream. I’d come back here for the pudding alone. Service was good and the place is nice and cozy. It’s also right across the street from the movie theatre and serves breakfast at any time(which I love) so I’m sure we’ll be back. I just didn’t walk out of there wowed upon my first visit. I’m more than willing to give it another try, though!

Great coney island! Came yesterday for biscuits and gravy and left satisifed. I would have been completely fine if I had wanted eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, french toast, waffles or eggs benedict(all offerings available), but the biscuits and gravy were calling my name. The biscuits were ample and fluffy and the sausage gravy was nice spiced(especially after I added a few drops of Franks Red Hot). This coney island is really neat in that they offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner as well as beer and wine! They advertised a «happy hour» from 3 – 6 where they have $ 2 beers, $ 1 sliders, and $.25 wings. The service was fantastic, but careful, it was packed on Saturday and I have a feelling that it is packed every Saturday… They have a lot of nice newspaper articles and other accolades posted in the dining room and given the food and service I had, I am not surprised! It’s worth a visit!

As far as Coney’s go, this place is fairly decent. I’ve had their coneys, breakfasts, and sandwiches and everything comes out tasty, clean, and with good service. I’ve only visited this location on the occasions that I get my car serviced next door and it always makes for a good wait – better than sitting in the service lounge or eating Chinese next door. Coffee is a little on the weaker side and they serve Pepsi instead of Coke. Free Wifi is a plus!

The best Coney Island in Ann Arbor. If only they’d embrace true diner culture and be open 24 hours… Not too far from home, this is a favorite spot when I want dinner or lunch but don’t feel like doing something fancy and also want to continue my commitment to avoiding fast food as much as possible. The food is consistently good diner food, the staff is friendly, the menu is varied and with seat yourself service and a counter to pay at, there’s never a wait. One table? Sit. Done eating? Go. I love coming in for a small Greek salad and chicken fingers but the burgers and sandwiches are also great. We come for breakfast once in a while and it’s also good. Simple, good food around the corner without the hassle of downtown. And it’s cheap!

This place is as good as it gets for a Coney Island. We’ve had a couple bad experiences with waitresses that don’t know how to manage a crowd, but the food is consistantly good. The price is unbeatable. They aren’t open late, but perfect for breakfast and lunch. Or even takeout when you are tired of fast food, but want good food fast. I stopped in to order my late-working husband a turkey rueben. He loved it, I was in and out quick, and I coudn’t have asked for better.
