I’m not sure where my cousin got the idea to have her wedding here, but what a beautiful wedding it was. It was a beautiful day in September when it seemed like it was never gonna stop raining, but no one rains on this girl’s parade. The forces from above got together and sure enough the sun shined through the clouds as my uncle took her arm & gave her away to the groom. With the sun shining behind her & the rooster crowing in the back ground the two were joined in matrimony. After the nuptials had concluded, we drank wine and had hors d’oeuvres before we made our way up the stone drive to the big barn at the top of the hill & enjoyed a beautiful reception. The staff here was at the top of their game and put together a wonderful dinner. My cousin & her husband went with the pulled pork, coleslaw and the mack n’ cheese menu, followed by a candy buffet bar & cupcakes. This was a perfect place for my baby cousin to get married & start her new family. I remember being nervous for her because that night Notre Dame was in Ann Arbor playing under the bright lights. I didn’t think it possible that this night could get any better but after the reception we took our shuttle back to the hotel in time to hear Denard score 28 points in the 4th quarter handing the Fighting Irish their 3rd loss in a row to Michigan & I swear you could hear the cheering from the big house at our hotel. What a great wedding, I’m so glad it all worked out for them & If anyone is planning a wedding here I don’t imagine them being disappointed.

I am a fan! As a wedding florist I have the opportunity to tour all of the venues available to rent in the area and this one is really fun! Complete with historic farm house, barn, chickens! This place is great for getting lots of outdoorsy photographs while still keeping guests like Grandma and Grandpa comfortable in air conditioned splendor. The price is really right and includes the use of their chairs, tables, and a small prep kitchen. You can invite your own catering(not forced to use theirs like many venues) So there again you can save some money without compromising any quality(i.e. no dry chicken dinner for $ 32ea) The barn is not as rustic looking on the inside it has exposed beams but white drywall in between which means you need to plan to use colored linens or something to add to the otherwise colorless room. They do however have it pre-lit with white holiday lights. Overall a great option for couples on a budget or conventions.

I was wandering around the grounds of the Cobblestone Farms center recently, checking out the historical museum, the barn, and the log cabin, and happened to run across a staff member. She offered to show me around the building that’s used as a venue for wedding receptions and other events, and it is a really lovely space. The majority of the space used for receptions is upstairs, and it’s decorated with twinkling lights. It’s roomy enough for a medium-sized but not huge reception, maybe 100 people or so. There’s also another elevated loft space, so it may be able to host even more. The reception space has windows that look out onto the grounds, so you can see the donkey and goat in the barn, gaze at the gardens or look over to the lovely historical house where the museum is housed. They have albums of past events there, so you can get an idea of what your event might be like if you choose to hold it there.
