Creature Comforts Bed & Bath

I still frequent this place with my dog, cat, and exotic animals on a regular basis. I’m still always very impressed with the cleanliness and accommodations. Today, I walked in unannounced for a tour and was able to snap a few photos.
The grooming books up here still so I always call and schedule grooming when I schedule my boarding. Holidays always book up really far in advance as well for boarding.
I definitely like how I can request to have my dog in the smaller dog area and have him potty outside by himself.

I have a two and half year-​old 85 pound golden retriever and just had the best experience at Creature Comforts Bed & Bath! Previously, I had Maddie groomed at a place closer to home and was not really pleased with the grooming or the environment. At Creature Comforts, I was welcomed warmly by the reception staff and the groomer, Amy. Amy asked a lot of questions about Maddie and made sure she understood exactly how I wanted her cut. They were really kind to Maddie, who has a bit of anxiety, and I was so relieved at how comfortable Maddie was with the staff right away. The staff also made me feel comfortable leaving her, as I have a bit of anxiety as well– lol!
Less than three hours later, they called and said Maddie was ready to go. She was GORGEOUS! She still looked like a Golden Retriever, but super soft and she smelled great! I hadn’t had her groomed in 9 months so it was a real treat. I made grooming appointments for this summer for both Maddie and my male Golden before I walked out. I would recommend Amy and Creature Comforts to all my friends who care about their dogs as much as I do. As an added bonus, Maddie was able to visit with all the animals after her appointment. She saw turkeys, peacocks, rabbits, foxes, chickens, etc. Never had such a fun time getting my dog groomed. It was like taking my child to the zoo :).

Beware the grooming staff is very mean, rude, and hurtful. After waiting for an appointment I took my dog into them to be groomed. My appt was at 9am and the groomer was not there yet. Another older tall woman started talking to me about my dog. She was talking down to me saying «when was the last time you groomed your dog?». She actually came over and pulled hair out of the hind quarters of my dog and said he would have to be shaved down. My dog was fearful of her after she did that. Then the groomer that was late came in and was like «deers in head lights» listening to the older woman talk about my dog. I left my dog even though my gut told me not to because I waited so long for my scheduled appointment. It was not 10 mins later I received a call and was asked to pick up my dog. That two of them could not pick him up for the tub and that he was to scared. When I arrived the older woman lectured me about how a scared dog is worse than an aggressive dog. I immediately called another groomer and told them how and what happened. They made me an appointment and I have waited until my dog was groomed there before I wrote this review. I went to Groom N Go on Industrial, they have a tub with stairs so your dog can walk right in and they have grooming tables that lower to the floor so that the animals do not have to be picked up. They were so kind and told me that my dog did not need to be shaved and that if he was shaved it would of ruined his coat. They also told me that my dog did great. They did such a good job, my dog looked amazing. So my advice to any one reading this review is beware of Creature Comforts Grooming their vet service is not as bad.

I have been taking my Bella to Creature Comforts since we rescued her 3 ½ years ago. I was really nervous because I had some friends that didn’t have such great experiences with some groomers.
The Grooming Site is always very clean and has pleasant receptionists there to help you.
On my arrival I met Amy. I felt very comfortable right away. I could tell she had been in the business a long time and knew what she was doing. She made me feel good about leaving my pooch. I explained to her that I would prefer Bella to stay at the groomers as less time as possible due to Bella coming from a puppy mill she does not do well with the cages… Amy totally understood where I was coming from and has never taken longer than an hour to wash, cut and dry my dog.
Bella comes out looking perfect. her cut is always perfect and she smells wonderful. I do take her every 5 weeks and have never had one problem. That in its self is huge!
I have to say that I hate the thought of ever having to take her to someone other than Amy. She is A+ in my book and Creature Comforts is wonderful too:)

Our terrier Sam is 14 years old and has arthritis in both knees. He is a great little guy, but if you handle him roughly, it hurts and he will let you know. The folks at Creature Comfort did a good job treating him gently but still doing a professional cairn cut and nail trim. When we came to pick him up, he was best buds with groomer. In contrast, a couple of the other grooming places in Ann Arbor have put him on their «problem dog» lists and said that they can’t groom him. Price at Creature Comfort was also competitive with what we have paid in other cities and significantly below the exorbitant prices charged by some of the in town Ann Arbor groomers.

I’ve been a bit a little wary of taking Sparky to a groomer. My parents have had some not-​so-​great experiences with their dog — ending up with the poor dog getting nicks and cuts or just a haircut that looks uneven and ridiculous.
However, after a really positive experience with the adjacent vet clinic, Animal Kingdom, I figured that Creature Comforts might be the first place to try for Sparky Coupon’s first post-​shelter cut. It was towards the beginning of summer, and so I was worried the poor little dude was getting too hot under his big curly coat.
My communication with the groomer herself was very good. I wasn’t sure the name for the cut I wanted. If I were to ask again, I’d probably veer more towards a «teddy bear» cut like was initially suggested, but even that has a lot of different interpretations.
Still, the groomer did a a very good job listening to my parameters — trimming Spark’s body fur much closer while leaving a little more length around the face and legs, and also getting some fur out of his eyes so he could see better. I like Sparky’s fur a little longer above his eyes (my friend Ian says then he «looks like David Bowie,» but his fur had gotten so long it was getting harder for him to see and difficult to read his usual expressive face.
The ladies at CC called me after his cut was done, letting me know I could pick him up whenever it worked. When I arrived he was happy to see me, but didn’t seem shaken up or anxious — it seemed he had just a fine time and was treated really well. I might also try a place a little closer so that I could walk Sparky there, but I would also be happy to head back here as well.
