Ok. Be ready when you walk in to order what you want or get out of the way. Have you seen the Soup Nazi on Seinfeld? You better be ready to pick up what you ordered quickly as well. All part of the experience. You cannot miss this place. The best apple fritter, the best French toast, the best onion bagel with Canadian bacon and egg I have ever had. No exaggeration. Again, do not miss this place. You have to go here. Trust me.

Dimo’s is the best. Incredible food, in my opinion the best burgers in town, and fun atmosphere. It always cheers me up just watching the staff interact with other customers. I cannot recommend this place enough, I will keep coming to this restaurant until I’m dead. The donuts are really good too.

Food: I come here often and I typically order the Rueben sandwich, hot.(You have the option to have a cold or hot sandwich but getting the hot sandwich will bring the flavor out of the meat, melt the cheese, crisp up the bread, etc). This sandwich is way too big for a normal appetite so I suggest ordering«to-go» so you will always have a container to carry any left overs. I usually finish the sandwich in one sitting but others would say I have an abnormally large appetite. I am not a fan of sweets however their donuts are very good and well made. Price: One dollar sign is a good indication of the price, they do accept credit card but there may be a minimum charge so just be aware of that. Service: Very similar to the Soup Nazi in Seinfeld. I prefer this type of service, great food, quick service, no BS.

Most flavorful donuts in town, because he puts in a lot more chocolate, cinnamon, vanilla, maple syrup, apples, etc. than Dunkin and other donut makers do. The falafel is fragrant and moist, the sandwiches have enough meat for 3 meals and the bread just came out of the oven so it is really fresh. Very friendly family owns it and works hard. They’ll know your name after you’ve been there twice and they always have a good joke for you. My kids grew up here.

best doughnuts in town! the cake doughnuts at washentaw are good, but nothing compares to Dimo’s(not even Dom’s!). Delicious and pillowy doughnuts that melt in your mouth. Best ever!

The food was delicious. I really wanted a maple bacon donut but they don’t have that so the guy made me bacon for my maple donut. It was delicious! He called the maple squealer :) we had a cheeseburger and fries that were perfectly made as well as the best Reuben in Ann Arbor. The staff was friendly and hilarious. We will definitely be frequenting this place!

Another great donut shop in Ann Arbor! It was a little packed in there being a football game Saturday, but it was speedy nonetheless. I wanted to get my favorite, sour cream old fashioned, but they apparently don’t make them on the weekends(sad face). I ordered a sprinkled vanilla cake donut and a glazed devils food. YUMMM I’m not the biggest fan of chocolate cake but that devils food was crazy delicious. My fiancé got the bow tie, cream filled long john, and a custard donut. He loved them all! Definitely will go again :)

Dimo’s has some of the best food I’ve had in Ann Arbor. The doughnuts are exceptional, the burgers are incredible, and the breakfast’s are on point. But the best part of going there is the owner, he definitely cares about both his restaurant and his customers, but certainly doesn’t hesitate to say what he’s thinking, even if it’s your first time in. All in all, Dimo’s is an Ann Arbor classic.

I love Dimo’s! Yes, the owner is a bit gruff but you can tell that he loves his restaurant and works hard to make sure that everyone has a good experience. It’s very clean inside. Their baked goods are delicious. The cinnamon rolls, donuts, and apple fritters are light & fluffy — some of the best I’ve ever had. Their breakfast platters are also great. The wheat bread is thick, light, and amazing.

We have found our neighborhood spot! I’m not even a donut person, but these are exceptional donuts. We’ve tried multiple things from the grill and everything has been delish. This is a no frills type of place — just great food. The gentlemen behind the counter like to play ‘gruff’ but they are just big softies deep down(cut to the scene where they cooked a piece of bacon for our pup that was waiting outside). We’ll surely become regulars at Dimos. Highly recommend!

My affection for donuts is Homer Simpsonesque. Dimo’s completes me. Donuts should be delicious, cheap, and no frills. Dimo’s Donuts has all of these qualities. Their donuts are wonderful. It warms my heart knowing you’re reading this because you’ll soon be there, enjoying their heavenly treats. The breakfasts and coffee are so-so. I wouldn’t advise getting either. Instead, make yourself a donut sandwich or get coffee flavored donuts. Dimo’s specializes in donuts so don’t mess around by getting anything else. Pro-tip: come here on paczki day and get as many as you can carry. The quality is life-altering. It’s true, the service is brusk, but you’ll be fine if you know what you want when you get to the counter and speak directly. You may get admonished for being ambivalent — but it’s all in good fun. This isn’t Blimpy Burger where a mistake will get you punched in the face. Go to Dimo’s. Eat donuts. Live your life. Repeat until you die a fatter, albeit happier person.

Sopped by to pick up some donuts for the office and cup of coffee for me… I ended up getting the dozen donuts — all mixture of things. Coffee — I’m not a coffee snob, but I do enjoy a great up of coffee and sadly, their coffee was lacking… frankly speaking… it was like drinking hot black water(their coffee tasted the same as Tim Horton’s)… Donuts — for dozen paid like $ 13 and their selections are limited… not sure if it’s because I went at 8am or what… as for the taste, it was decent… I hate to compare, but I have to say Dom’s donuts are still the best and for $ 13, I can get 1.5 dozen donuts from there and selections are twice better. However, this doesn’t mean I’ll write of Dimo’s… NONONO… I’ll be back to try their deli offering and hopefully I’ll fall in love with their deli sandwiches, as I’m always looking for a closer deli by my place. See you soon Dimo’s.

This is a two folded review. First off, Dimo’s has the best raised donuts in Ann Arbor by a long shot. They melt in your mouth. The bow ties and apple fritters are excellent, however you can’t beat a plan chocolate frosted raised donut. Five stars for donuts. What was a tad disappointing was their sandwiches. I consider myself a Reuben connoisseur and have had many a good Reuben in Ann Arbor. However, this one just wasn’t extraordinary. The sandwiches themselves are huge, but the corned beef just seemed like it was purchased and sliced at the grocery store. My girlfriend however had a ham and cheese and seemed to like it very much. While I won’t necessarily be coming back for the sandwiches, I’ll be back for the donuts. The staff is witty and fun and you’ll enjoy your time there.

I have only had the donuts but, wow! I have been in several times to get donuts for work trainings. I always get the«fancy» donuts. One time my co-worker said that they had one of the best long john’s she had ever tasted. Personally, I love their apple fritter. It is one of the best I have ever had anywhere. This place is so good there is usually a line but, the staff keeps it moving and is incredibly funny and kind. Go here! Now. You won’t regret it.

I have been going to Dimo’s from time to time for donuts since he opened. I retired to Florida and returned to town after 7 years. He remembered me and threw in an extra donut to celebrate the occasion. Nice touch. Great donuts.

I reserve 5 stars for a truly unforgettable experience. Enter Fat Tuesdays Paczki time. Good lord they are good in the most satanical ways. Fresh crispy soft eggy creamy– satisfies all your senses. Dimo stays up all night and works like a machine to make these fresh. Most places freeze their donuts to meet demand– this places doesn’t take any shortcuts! On Fat Tuesday if you don’t see Dimo, he’s in the back hunched over cranking out these Paczkis. He came out and he was getting high fives and all kinds of accolades. Seriously this places deserves a standing ovation for all their hard work everyday. They love what they do and it shows. Besides Fat Tuesday, I’ve been coming to dimos for years. Good kind hearted and hilarious individuals running this sandwich shop. You come here for good food generous portions and you stay for the community and good conversation. The owners and workers have a good sense of humor so bring your smiling faces over here!

Where else can you get a delicious donut and a deli sandwich? Ok, Tim Hortons. But other than that, Dimo’s is the only option. Luckily the sandwiches are big and meaty, and the donuts are, well, donuts. So never mind the lack of competition– head to Dimo’s for a full belly and a side of happiness.

Why did it take me so long to find Dimo’s!!! THISPLACEISTHEJAM! Value, Flavor, Service, and Speed: what more could you ask for? I ordered a couple of Rubins with fries for pick up. The guy on the other line said to just come on over. I got in the car, drove 5 minutes, and when I arrived, my sandwiches were hot and ready at the register. The guy behind the counter was super nice and even cracked a couple of good jokes about the food — major bonus points. The space is simple and unpretentious: an uncommon — and welcomed — atmosphere in Ann Arbor. When I got home I couldn’t believe what I found in the bag. THESESANDWICHESWEREENORMOUS! Unquestionably one sandwich would be enough for two people to split. At $ 9 a pop — this makes Dimo’s the best value in town. Furthermore, the bread was beautiful, and i’m pretty sure baked in-house. I didn’t get a donut, or a bagel sandwich, but those will be tried out in the very near future. Zingermann’s you’ve got a problem — Dimo’s is going to start sucking away all your locals and you’ll be left with nothing put pushy parents, disgruntled tourists, and ineffectual politicians. Forget a $ 16 sandwich with a side of privilege. Those in the know will be at Dimo’s.

I love donuts like other people love bacon: in an unreasonable and voracious sort of way. Ann Arbor, sadly, is not much of a donut town. In grad school, I’d often have to convince a friend with a car to drive me the 20 minutes out to Ypsi to hit up a Dunkin’ Donuts, and I’d stake out a spot to snag Washtenaw Dairy donuts at the nicer free lunch events. As such, I was furious that no one had ever told me about Dimo’s before this last year. Dimo’s seems to be something of an institution on the west side – given its location, you get more of a local crowd than a student crowd, although it’s always packed with people sporting maize and blue on game days. One of my friends has gone to Dimo’s with his family for years, and it’s clear that Dimo’s has a long list of regulars. At one point after finding out about Dimo’s, I think I went every Saturday for over two months. Before Christmas, one of the employees told me that they’d be closed for the holidays so I wouldn’t be disappointed the next time I tried to come in. Clearly I’m totally obsessed with this place. It’s the laid-back diner vibe, the amazing food, and how genuinely friendly the employees are. Tips: the sandwiches are all humongous, so either get a half-portion or order off the«lite»(total lie) menu. Get the lite pastrami sandwich with the pastrami grilled and everything on it, a coffee with sugar and cream(they’re heavy handed with both), and one of their specialty donuts(they run out quick on the weekends). And sass Dimo, the owner, back every now and then.

Stopped in out of curiosity one day when I was running to the post office across the street. I had only intended to get doughnuts but ended up sitting down for a meal. I went up to order and got a grilled ham and cheese, an order of fries and I picked out a doughnut for later. It was later in the day so the doughnuts were a little slim on the pickins but I asked for a glazed twist. The gregarious gentleman behind the counter told me that that one was a little on the older side and he was going to give me two circular glazed for the price of one instead. SO nice. The grilled cheese was HUGE. Nothing fancy but served up on crunchy Texas toast and stacked with ham and gooey American cheese(on the menu it comes with cheddar but I asked for a switcheroo and they obliged). Perfect comfort food and the portion was so large I barely made it through one half before I had to take the other half home to my fella to finish up. The french fries were hot and crunchy and perfectly salty. I was into it. Doughnuts were soft and light and melted in my mouth. I approve! Everyone here was unbelievably nice. From the gentleman who took my order to the other fellas behind the counter who wrapped up my leftovers to go. It was my first time in there but they made me feel like I’ve been a life long regular. In fact, it was so loud and casual in there that when I had a quick work phone call I could barely hear the person on the other end. It was such a warm atmosphere I didn’t mind. But just a heads up if you’re going in looking for quiet.
