Best Chinese place around. Their hot and sour soup can cure any cold, I swear! I’ve ventured all over the menu and everything has been pretty damn good. Don’t forget the teriyaki chicken appetizer skewers. Really cheap for some great tasting LARGE chicken skewers. Always timely and always piping hot!

I sort of expect rude service when I go to Chinese restaurants. But this place takes the cake, this can only be viable business option if you have great food. The food is outstanding at King Shing and at an extremely affordable price. I got an orange chicken combination platter or, a large egg drop soup, and an order of crab Rangoon’s for $ 15 even. Visit King Shing enjoy the food and ignore the staff.

We did not get what we ordered and got insulted when we gently brought it to their attention.

You’ll pay more here than lucky kitchen and cheap Chinese places, but that’s because you get QUALITY here. Food is extremely good. When you walk in you’ll notice how many workers are hand making the food. Don’t look any further for great Chinese food

Went in ordered to go and was out the door in 10 mins during dinner rush. Great food and they’re very friendly. I will be back!

Food is amazing. Defiantly breaks the mold of «Chinese food similarity» dishes are all prepared differently then other cookie cutter style Chinese. You may dislike a dish you normally like or love a dish you dislike else where. But the food is really well made and delicious. The crab Rangoon is seriously the best I’ve had in my life and I have tried a lot. It’s stuffed and never over fried. The delivery guys are very polite and quick. The girl inside the check out varies but all seem off put, and short.

Reasonable Americanized Chinese food; better than most I’ve had in Ann Arbor, but a far cry from my east or west coast favorites. The food’s close to the stuff I grew up on, but some dishes are a bit lackluster. Ambiance is focused on takeout, with some basic chairs and tables for dine-in but no comfy booths or bamboo wall hangings. The hot and sour soup was great — not too spicy on the tongue, but lots of burn on the throat; neat trick, that. The General’s chicken is very tender and juicy white meat; I usually prefer dark meat, but this worked just fine. The sauteed green beans were a bit bland and soft by comparison to the other two dishes. The service was just fine — a friendly if slightly flustered younger woman, and a fairly sour older woman, perhaps the owner. Tea’s in a carafe on the counter, next to a stack of styrofoam cups. Water’s in a Gatorade-style jug. So far, this is my pick if I’m already in the vicinity — but not worth a dedicated trip across town.

If you read any of my reviews, you should know I’m primarily concerned about service, accommodation to allergies, and well — tastiness.(Ok duh, aren’t we all?). King Shing doesn’t get 5 stars in any of those arenas. I called in the evening for a carry-out, and asked whether or not the sesame chicken had any nutty things in it. Bae’s mom loves King Shing and talks about how the sauce is a little different. Given that I’m anaphylactic and asked what seemed to be a straightforward question, I expected a quick response. Instead, the woman in the phone rudely reflected that it was *sesame* chicken, so no, no nuts. I ordered three dishes: sesame chicken, beef with snow peas, and veggie lo mein. The sesame chicken was weird — it tasted like it had a sweet and sour base. Not for me. The lo mein and beef dish were rather flavorless. I don’t know how much this review is influenced by the lovebuds in my mouth or the bad taste that was left by our brief nuts convo. Peace out, King Shing!

The food came fast. The fried rice was amazing. The food in general was great. You can’t beat great Chinese food and fast delivery. This is my new favorite Chinese food place.

This is my favorite place on the planet. Though I only get one thing most of the time(shrimp egg foo yung for the win!) this place is consistent with flavor and quality. My partner and I love it almost too much and the people who work there know her cell number and face by glance. If you’re looking for good Chinese, this is the place to go.

I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed this place yet! I’m new to the area. My husband and I just moved here from the Detroit Metro area, though he’s originally from here. We were lucky enough to find this place when I went to my handy dandy notebook(read Unilocal) to help me find a Chinese restaurant when we’ were visiting one weekend. Ever since that first visit, I always found a way to get him to stop by whenever we were in the area. It got so bad that we started referring to it as «our Chinese food place.» As you can tell, we like it. This little restaurant is clean, neat and a great value. The food is always fresh and presented in a timely manner. I love the General Tso’s chicken from here. The sauce is flavorful with just the right amount of spice. The only thing I’ve had here that I didn’t like was the Lo mein. Honestly, they tasted like spaghetti noodles with sauce. Stick with the rice.

I got the garlic/ginger chicken lunch combo with fried rice. It was amazing — fresh chicken and crispy veggies in a savory brown sauce. Will be back soon!

Good food, fast take out service. I got a Kung Pao chicken dinner combo and all the food was quite tasty, big portions. I had plenty left over for lunch the next day and I couldn’t finish the leftovers. This place is a good option for American Chinese fare.

As long as you expect AMERICANIZED chinese food, then you’re all set. I heard about King Shing from someone at work(and as they are right down the road from my work, I thought why not). I ordered Chicken Curry, pork friend rice, and hot and sour soup. Overall, everything is great! The Curry Chicken is good, with optional heat/spice, the hot and sour soup, while not the best, is still good, and the pork fried rice is GREAT! Now they charge $ 0.50 extra for the soup with lunch if you pay with a CC which is ok. Sometimes there is a noticeable difference between lunch and dinner quality in my Curry Chicken(sauce is darker, more heat, and a little drier meat) but for the most part, they have been my go to people for fast tasty chinese food. Sometimes when they are swamped, the wait for a meal can get long, but they generally let you know.

Pros: Tasty chicken, large amounts of food, low price food, more quality than normal Cons: Doesn’t take card, fried rice is not that good. I’ve been to King Shing many times to pick up their General Tso’s chicken, and I have tried their Kung Pao tofu and Veg medley as well. As a student on campus, this is probably better than options near campus, and is good if you are on Carpenter road. I found their quality better than what is on campus as well, and it is not greasy. Their service is fairly friendly, food does not take long to come out. I wish they took card, but not many of these type of restaurants do.

While working on contract in A2, King Shing has been my go-to for reasonably-priced Chinese food delivery. I have ordered from them more than 20 times. Staff have always been quite friendly. Delivery has consistently been prompt(30 minutes). What I Like: Fresh ingredients! Spicy dishes made spicier by request(not always hot enough for my tastes, but they don’t just throw in a bunch of hot sauce and garlic) Sizable portions — enough for leftover dinner the following night Reasonably priced, especially given the quality, quantity, and service Recommended: Kung Pao Chicken Hot & Sour Soup Pork Fried Dumplings Pineapple Fried Rice For US-style Chinese fare delivered, King Shing is the best I’ve found in Ann Arbor. I give them 5 stars for excellence in their category and for consistently great service.

Your typical Chinese take away. There is nothing special here. I called my order in. Make sure you plan for the construction on Carpenter Road. The restaurant is on the side currently being rebuilt, so there may be a line of two-way traffic that you have to navigate to get in and out of the shopping center. I ordered a General Tso’s combo with beef fried rice. When I arrived, it took a moment for the lady to come to the counter. All the carryout orders were sitting on the counter in a pizza delivery bag. I haven’t seen that before, but my food was still warm, so I’m OK with that. Overall opinion, decent tasting food, average customer service, average prices.

Lately, I’ve been trying to find a new favorite Chinese restaurant after Great Lakes shutdown… well, after visiting many Chinese joints, I think I have found my favorite place so far… How did I conduct my test? Well, I ordered two of the same dishes at all the places I visited… — Egg Plant in Garlic Sauce and Chicken Broccoli — most places don’t serve the egg plant, so I opted for these two. King Shing doesn’t offer egg plant dishes, so I went with Chicken Broccoli dinner combo and beef chow fun… The Beef chow fun as ok… had better… it had this weird taste that I could not get my finger on… but as for the Chicken Broccoli… they have everyone else beat hands down in my opinion… the taste was awesome, flavor was great and I just couldn’t stop eating it… the fried rice that came with the dinner combo was excellent as well. The place isn’t a 3 star Michelin place but it’s a great place for Chinese food for the amount of money you pay… this place also has the cheapest Chinese food, but typically when it’s cheap, the flavors get affected… not here… I also tried the sesame chicken that my friend ordered, it was excellent as well. They offer delivery, but sadly not to my area… the construction around here should be done in about a month or so… so getting to the place should be a lot easier.

Not bad at all! I typically never go to American Chinese restaurants but I was craving almond boneless chicken and this place really hit the spot! The portion is just right and I actually had left overs of pork fried rice for dinner. The chicken was cooked just right and what I loved was the gravy. It had a hint of almond flavor so it was very different and delish. The pork fried rice was flavored so well that I am still craving how good it was after 3 days! You can’t beat the lunch special, honestly for less than 5 bucks? My meal was 2 meals :) I will try their other dishes next time for sure
