Really hits the spot when you’re missing home cooking Asian food mmmmm. Discovered this place thanks to a friend rec and gave it a try on a cold snowy night. Dumplings came out piping hot, flavorful and tender! Portions are great, split 3 plates between 2 people and we were stuffed. Frequented by much of the international crowd if that helps validate food quality :) Something curious — noticed they have white vinegar and soy sauce on every table instead of the Asian dark vinegar. Didn’t effect taste much for those that prefer vinegar for dipping, just wonder why that is.

Classic Asian restaurant. But that’s where you get the authentic stuff! Place is small and more homey than other places. Water is has a overwhelming tap taste, but service was not bad. Scallion pancakes: my friend said it tasted like street food he had in China and apparently, very greasy. Tripe appetizer: pretty good, and comes cold. Friend said he with there was more tripe to beef ratio, but I thought it worked. Spicy beef noodle: average broth and noodles. I was hoping for something like TK-WU’s beef noodle with the pickled radishes, but not here. Pork triple delight dumplings: standard dumplings, not amazing. Beef dumpling: the better of the 2. I like this one a lot. Overall: good food, just needed to know what to order though. Would come back and recommend to others. P. S. Count your dumplings! My friend got 16 buy they gave him 12. But they were nice enough to take it back and give 2 extra! Way to go Yee Siang!

The only thing recommend is the dumpling and the other food is not eatable. And the they need to improve their waitress’s attitude. She acted like we own her a billion dollars. I didn’t see her smile and when we asked her for the straw, she just throw the straws on the table. We just gave them 10% tips, I think we are generous for this amount. I don’t even think they deserve this much.

Awesome homemade dumplings! Also get the scallion pancake! The lamb satay/kebab with the chili flakes and seasoning are awesome. Ask for the hot chili oil(it’s good with a smokey note) and mix with a bit of the table side soy.

This is the real thing. This is traditional northern China food. If you want lighter Taiwanese island food, you go to Asian Legends. When you want warm comfort in your belly you DEFINITELY come here. They make their own dumplings here. Their noodles are all made in the back. So when you order their traditional northern China chicken, potato, and noodle dish, you get noodles made of the same dumpling dough! It’s awesome! Their food here is traditional, delicious — I always get a few plates of large order dumplings and struggle to order another plate in order not to be too basic… but what I generally do is this. I order 2 large plates of dumplings, bak choy and mushroom plate for veggies, and scallion pancake bc it is always yummy. Theirs is a bit more on the chewy flour end rather than the very vegetable end of the spectrum when it comes to scallion pancakes. Basically: Chicken triple delight and basic, a great balance in flavor. Beef and dill has that«funky» taste to it and it is delish. fish and mushroom in my opinion was ok. beef stew is yummy. chicken, potato, noodle dish is fabulously traditional I prefer all my dumplings fried, so I usually do 1 steamed and 1 fried at the least. They will default boil them for you if you don’t ask for them fried. The good thing though is that they have graciously taken them back to fry them for me each time I forgot to ask and saw they were boiled. Oops! and YESSSSS!

We came in at 5:45pm on a Friday evening and we were seated right away. When we left at 6:30 there were a few more tables but it still wasn’t busy, so it’s good for a quick meal. With four people, we ordered three small orders of dumplings and two bowls of spicy beef noodle soup. Not gonna lie, I could not tell the difference between the different types of dumplings we got(triple chicken delight + pork and chives). They were priced at 10 for $ 6, which is a bit pricier than expected. The steamed dumplings had a lot of rips in them, which wasn’t very impressive, and some of the pan fried potstickers stuck together, which was also not impressive. But despite their less than stellar appearance, they still tasted pretty good. The spicy beef noodle soup was pretty great. It came out looking red and pretty intimidating, but it wasn’t spicy at all. There are some numbing peppers but none of us were really affected by them which is perfect. In my opinion, the soup is everything it should be. Only downside was the noodles were this packaged kind that stuck together in some parts. Service was very friendly, but not really good. The lady never came around to fill up our water, despite not being busy at all. Still, she was the only one working and was super friendly so, the meal was enjoyable. All in all, dumplings taste good but I don’t think they were worth the price. So although the name of the place is dumplings, I would definitely recommend you try the spicy beef noodle soup or maybe something on the menu beyond the dumplings.

I’m so happy we finally decided to try this place. I have to admit, we usually spend our Saturday late morning/noon time having Dim Sum at either Asia City(down the road) or Shangri-la in West Bloomfield. We’ve passed Yee Siang a few times, always saying, «let’s try it next time…» Well, «next time» finally came and we experienced the goodness Yee Siang has to offer. Absolutely wonderful, authentic Chinese style dumplings. I especially loved the lamb & cilantro ones. We tried the mapo-tofu as well and we were very satisfied. I think they are a fledgling restaurant and they could certainly use some more staff members, but we were patient. I think this place would be a little intimidating for non-Chinese(non-Asian) people though. Most of the patrons are Chinese and if being surrounded by Chinese speaking people bothers you, I probably won’t go here(unless of course you’re already familiar with the food).

We stopped by for dinner a while ago, after seeing their terrific reviews on Unilocal. We were promptly seated and enjoyed attentive service throughout dinner. The food was a bit of a mixed bag. We ordered several types of dumplings. Although the beef and onion were terrific, we wouldn’t recommend the lamb and zucchini. They were already out of a couple of the flavors we wanted to try, so maybe go earlier in the day(i.e., lunch, as opposed to dinner). I also think that we should have tried the dumplings pan-fried, as opposed to steamed/boiled. We’ll have to go back again soon to try out more of their offerings!

I really like this the dumplings here. the Triple Pork Delight is the best of the ones I’ve tried, with probably the Lamb and Chive second. I haven’t had any seafood or beef ones yet. The Beef noodle soup is super good and I have to try hard not to order it every time I go. Prices are reasonable. The only major hangup I have is the service, it is not quick at all. I think as a new restaurant with low traffic it may be hard to have enough people on staff at all times, so I’m still going here, hoping it changes.

The food is very nice and very close to what you would expect in China. It’s gonna be super busy during meal time and there are only two servers. Some items may not available sometimes due to high demand and/or the owner’s mood :). Highly recommend their lamb soup with pita, all dumplings. ITISNOT Gluten Free place. They don’t open on Monday, and they close early.

If the name of your establishment contains the word«dumplings«, you shouldn’t be out of dumplings within two hours of opening… I was also told they were out of pretty much everything except for noodles. Are you kidding me? But wait, that’s not the worse part. This Chinese family that came in after us ordered at least five different varieties of dumplings and the same waitress that told me they were all out took their order. I know this because I speak Chinese and I understood what they were saying completely… I felt like me and my husband(who is not Asian) were discriminated against, and that made me really sad. Finally we talked to a different waitress and got a few dumplings, and they are absolutely terrible– the meat doesn’t taste fresh and the wraps were a disaster. I’m sorry but even if this is authentic Chinese food, it’s far from the best. I will not go back to this place and I suggest that you go somewhere else for your Chinese fix.

Looking for delicious Chinese food at an affordable price? This is the place to go! Unlike many other local options, which only serve the same dishes you will find in any food court, this place has a number of interesting dishes. My husband and I shared two types of dumplings: beef & onion and pork triple delight. We loved them both, but my favorite was the pork triple delight. After the dumplings we shared a bowl of the lamb rib noodles. It tasted freshly prepared and the lamb was tender, if on the fatty side compared to American lamb dishes. This place could be 5 stars if they put a little work into the restaurant’s appearance. There is not much of an ambience here. Overall, I am glad I tried this place and I hope to return soon!

This is my go to place when I’m craving comfort Asian food especially when I’m in the mood for dumplings or noodle soup. I’ve tried most of their fresh, handmade dumplings and have to say that you basically can’t go wrong with ordering any of their flavors. Favorites of mine include steamed triple pork delight, pork and cabbage, and fish with chives. The pork bun is worth a try, too if you’re in the mood to try some Chinese street food. This place also makes amazing noodle soup, my favorite which is the spicy pork and noodle soup. The pork is slow cooked to tender perfection, the noodles are hand made, and the tasty soup ends up all in my stomach. The gf loves to order the Cha Chiang noodles which is a great combination of ground pork, soy sauce, cucumbers and of course soft handmade noodles. The only con is they are often so busy that if you don’t try to flag down one of the servers you’ll never get the check, box, or hot sauce you desire. But for what this place advertises to be, as long as the food is tasty as ever, I will definitely be back(again)

Extremely underwhelmed. After reading Unilocal reviews I was excited to go here. Turns out that they didn’t have hot oil when I got there, despite the waitress telling us they did and saying she’d return with some. After no hot oil for 5 min, we asked another waitress who told us they were out and couldn’t make anymore. REALLY? That’s like having no mustard at a burger place. TBH — dumplings are 3 – 4 star quality though. Good. Not the best I’ve ever had. But good.

I’m excited to find a Chinese restaurant in the Ann Arbor area that has more than only the Americanized dishes! This place lives up to it’s name, as I don’t think I’ve been to any Chinese American restaurant, even ones that are called«dumpling house», that have had as many choices in dumpling stuffing and ways of preparation. They had several different combinations that have either beef, pork, lamb, and various vegetables depending. Two of us shared some of the pork and shitake dumplings steamed. They were just the right amount of flavor, could have maybe used a bit more garlic and such, however, did like that the shitake wasn’t too overpowering. Another dish I’ve been craving since moving to MI, is finding a good beef noodle soup dish. I asked for it to not be spicy. The braised beef was very tender and flavorful, though a bit skimpier than other places I’ve been before. They only included 3 pieces of bok choy for veggies as well. However, the dish overall was a big win for me in terms of overall flavor, and the noodles were nice and chewy. The server was friendly and helpful, though quite frazzled, he explained to us that he wears many hats there, as a server, dish boy, etc. so he apologized for not being around as much as he may have liked. Even in spite of that, I thought he was quite prompt with getting us our dishes, checking on us, and providing us with our bill in a timely manner.

I’ve been here twice in two days. The dumplings are to die for(steer clear of pan fried though as they are a little too greasy) and you won’t find better in this area. Boiled, steamed, all combinations of lamb, beef, pork, chicken; you cannot go wrong here. The spicy beef noodle soup, though peppered with perfectly cooked bits of beef, could do with a lot more spice as there was nonexistent amounts. The crab and cheese wontons melt in your mouth and they beat No Thai’s by a mile. The service is fast but a little scattered. The place is small and you can feel a little out of place if you are of caucasian descent, but do not let this hinder your motivation to experience some great dumplings. I will be back again and again and again.

UPDATE2 Ma-la bowl is a must. Pick your own veggies/meats/noodles and it comes in a big bowl covered in a delicious spicy sauce. We did flounder, crab stick, udon, Bok choy, and shiitake mushrooms. UPDATE I’ve been back multiple times because I find myself craving the dumplings at least once a week. I went last Wednesday and they finally have their actual menu available now. Lot more offerings. Ordered dumplings, hot spicy noodles, crab rangoon, and chicken kebab. They were out of the kebabs. But our order was more than enough for 2 people. Hot spicy noodles were damn good. Crab rangoon were so delicate and light(not the usual dripping in oil concoctions, though those are delicious too). Really wanted to try the kebabs, will just go back. Also on my to-try list: Ma La bowl. Haven’t seen it before but the waitress tells me it is «very Chinese». And pretty cheap as well. Yee Siang is great, definitely taking my family next.

The dumplings are amazing. Boiled or steamed, they’re delightful little broth-filled meat pockets. My partner and I tried them pan-fried, and found them to be too oily and dense with this preparation. Otherwise, supremely enjoyable. We also ordered the spicy beef noodle soup, and asked for their normal spice level after they asked how hot we wanted. Upon its arrival, we experienced tender, delicious, fall-apart beef in a savory broth with noodles and bok choy. While it was enjoyable, it was by no means hot. We asked for chili oil to add ourselves, and the oil itself wasn’t very spicy. While unsure where the discrepancy was, but as a beef soup without spice it was still good. We will be back. We may have already been back since our first time yesterday. Oops?

My father’s side of the family is from Shenyang, the northeast of China. So is the family that runs this place. They know their dumplings, noodles, etc. We got pork and cabbage dumplings, beef and onions dumplings, lamb and cilantro dumplings, and lamb noodles. All were very tasty and well prepared. Prices are very reasonable — 18 dumplings for about $ 8. Most of the negative reviews are due to the slow/poor service, lack of décor, etc. Seriously? This is a hole in the wall restaurant. I consider poor service and lack of décor as adding to the experience.

I was torn between 3 and 4 stars… based upon my first visit, I decided to settled on 3 stars for now… as I make return visits, I’m sure my ratings will change. I heard of the new restaurant through a friend, Unilocaled it and got the location… I did come on Monday, but they are closed, so don’t go on Mondays!!! I returned on Tuesday and when I got here, three tables were occupied… I looked at the menu as I waited for my friend. We ordered: — marinated duck — pork and cabbage(10 pcs) — Lamb and Cilantro(10 pcs) — Beef and Onions(18 pcs) We opted for water… as we waited for our food, more folks started coming in, so this is a great sign… people are hearing about it… — Marinated duck — you get ½ duck chopped up into pieces that’s been cooked in special sauce. The duck is cold(I thought it was hot dish)… the dish was great, but the duck was on the slim side, so you had more bone then meat on the bird, but its a dish worth ordering. — Dumplings — all dumplings can be ordered in three ways: Pan fried, boiled or steamed. We opted to go with pan fried… don’t get confused about pan fried dumplings… it’s actually boiled and then fried on top of the frying pan to give a little bit of crispiness… What I like about dumplings: They were soft, the skin were moist and inside the dumplings were juicy. All good signs. The dumplings were on the bland side, which is okay, because the dipping sauce should take care of that for you. But, this is where my «improvements’ comes to play… What I didn’t like: dipping sauces. On the table, they have regular soy sauce and vinegar. You can ask for hot chili sauce… I ended up making my own dipping sauce, but they should provide several options to select from(even if they charge for them)… How did I make my sauce? I poured some soy sauce into the hot chili sauce, then some vinegar, mixed it until I found the taste I was looking for… then dipping the dumplings in there made it better. But, like I said, I was hoping they had more dipping sauce(they might have and I had to ask it? I don’t know). Service — well, only being opened for a week, they are working out the logistics… so don’t be surprised, if you are seated(or self seat) and wait about five minutes before you get a menu… if the place is slow, then service will be quick, when the tables get filled up, it’ll get slow… so don’t go expecting quick service. Not all of the menu items are available… on the day we visited, they placed green check mark on the items that were available… either way, we walked out full and happy to try a new place. I’ll be back for sure, but will wait few months once they find their rhythm. If you are in the area, stop by and try their offerings.
