There are many places downtown Ann Arbor with tremendous Shawarma plates and I can most definitely say Pita Kabob is not on that list. I ordered a chicken shawarma plate and sadly it was a disaster. First of all the garlic sauce had the texture of cottage cheese. I’m no chef, but I have enough knowledge to know that isn’t right. On top of that the chicken was really dry and the seasoning is really over powering. In addition to that, the rice was under seasoned. My total was around $ 12 or $ 13 but I feel as if I went to a gas station in the middle of no where and bought one of those microwaveable TV dinners. I’ll eat trash out of a dumpster before I ever spend another penny at Pita Kabob.

Lot of vegetarian options. Great wraps. Good food. Huge menu but they had 3 – 4 sections veggie wraps, platters etc. Would definitely go back.

The food is not fresh! The guy who works there told us they cook twice a week and freeze meat, to warm it up when a customer orders! Really??? Even they didn’t warn it up properly! Junk food! One of the most unexpected experiences I ever had!

Meh. A begrudging three stars. I had takeout from here last year for my sister and mother and myself. Food was made fast and didn’t seem too expensive. Nothing particularly great. I wasn’t in love with the pita bread but the hummus was alright. We didn’t like the salad or vegetables so we didn’t eat those. I’ve also grabbed food here once or twice since then but didn’t remember if I liked it or not. Fast forward to a few days ago. I had amazing chicken shawarma at Bucharest Grill in Detroit and was craving some again so decided to stop here since it was on my walk home. I was sorely disappointed. The pickles were fine. The sauce wasn’t great. The chicken was bland. There were no good spices giving it flavor. The fries were probably the best part of the whole wrap, the wrap itself was also fine. Fries tasted like the grocery store frozen ones you buy and the seasoning could have just been some regular french fry seasoning from Costco. French fry seasoning was liberally applied on some fries, non-existent on others, a lot less seasoning would have been fine. It was less than ten bucks for my chicken shawarma and side of fries. And it was a good amount of food. I was full but not happy as I was eating it. I guess now that I’ve had Bucharest, nothing can compare. Good service, food not as good. I won’t be back.

Walking by this place, I never expected it to be this good. The wraps are a lot bigger than those at other places, so for the price of around 7 dollars, it ends up being a solid deal. But, the one thing that makes this place different is that they put the wraps in a panini press or something! The wrap is so crispy and it’s honestly such a game changer — no more soggy wraps!

Delivery: Took roughly 70 minutes for the food to come. Chicken shawarma was ok, the bottom of the shawarma was kind of soggy, and the French fries inside of it was kind of overpowering. However the size of the chicken shawarma wrap was massive compared to others in the area. The falafel side was good. I also had to get another item to get the order above $ 10 for delivery so I got the ride pudding which seemed a little watered down.

Great tasting Mediterranean food that is prepared quickly and at a reasonable price. Easy to find location.

Had some fantastic food delivered from Pita Kabob Grill while staying in Ann Arbor — I had the Vegan Yum Platter with spinach pie, falafel and grape leaves, hummus and pita. The carnivores at my table enjoyed their chicken shawarma.

I really like this place. It’s affordable(I usually never get a drink, which keeps my total low), the staff are nice(and they’re hilarious if you stop and chat with them for a while). The food is pretty tasty. I’m not well-versed in Middle Eastern and Mediterranean food though, but compared to other types I’ve had, I wouldn’t call Pita Kabob the absolute best, but it’s pretty good. Definitely better than some other options out there. I don’t go often, so whenever I go I end up getting the same thing(lamb shwarma). The garlic sauce is yum. The restaurant is pretty small though; if you plan on eating in, always have an option B in mind in the event you can’t snag a table or window seats. I personally have always been able to get a table, however. If you’re trying to decide between the pizza place next door and Pita Kabob, your money will be better spent at Pita.

I tried the chicken shawarma once and was not super impressed, but the grape leaf wraps pita is the best pita I’ve ever had. Hummus is rock solid and the pitas are baked to perfection. Highly recommend

The Gyro was good, they panini press it, not that much meat in it. I ordered the spinach pies thinking they were similar to the spinach rolls I used to get in NY. They weren’t, they were disgusting. Fries were a little soggy, and the guy at the register was the worst. Was outside when I came inside, so he came in behind me after I walked in, and was on his phone after I ordered, and didn’t realize my order was complete. The cook from the back had to come out and bag my food up for me, he was extremely courteous.

I feel sort of bad for giving a 3 star review but, it’s just OK food at OK prices. Not bad. Been there about 10 times in the past 7 or 8 years. The most recent time I used the 10% coupon I got from Accu-Copy and I believe the guy at the counter gave me 30% worse service to make up for it. Three people who ordered the exact same thing as me – after me – received their sandwiches first. It was still relatively fast at 15 minutes. ***They charge extra for credit if the bill is under $ 5*** Not much on the menu less than $ 5 though.

After 4 years of passing Pita Kabob Grill and never going in, I finally decided to give it a try. My first impression was that it was a small restaurant with a few tables inside which gave it a nice cozy feel. I then looked at the menu and was a little overwhelmed by the plethora of choices, but finally settled on the Lamb Gyro Pita for $ 6.59 and added a side of fries for $ 2.59. The lamb gyro pita was a bit small for the price in my opinion, and upon first bite I got a mouthful of the lamb gyro meat which was quite dry. The garlic sauce inside was quite good though, and slightly made up for the dryness of the lamb. The fries were pretty average fare, aside from the cajun seasoning they added — it tasted fine, just unexpected from a middle eastern restaurant. In total my food came out to be just over $ 10. For what they charge Pita Kabob Grill doesn’t deliver quite the quality and/or portion size I would expect. Though, if you’re craving middle eastern food and are near Pita Kabob Grill, they’ll satisfy your cravings.

Looking for a small meal after landing in Ann Arbor and this place seemed to be quick, easy, and cheap. I ordered a broccoli pita which came with fries and garlic yogurt sauce inside. How can you go wrong with French fries inside of… well, ANYTHING?! I’d recommend coming here for a great variety in choices of pita and wrap sandwiches at a really reasonable price.

I lived in Oman for 5 years and I can say that I at least have decent knowledge of what good shawarma is and what is not. This place, nails it. I always get Lamb Istanbuli because that has all the necessary ingredients to make a good shawarma: meat, tomatoes, greenies, and FRENCHFRIES. For $ 6.69, I got this big shawarma that fills me up every time. GOTOTHISPLACE, ORDERLAMBISTANBULI, ANDENJOYTOYOURHEART’S CONTENTS.

Just ordered from this place for the first time. The portions are huge! I can’t believe how big the chicken shawarma is! So delicious! Love the garlic sauce. Not a huge fan of potatoes in my shawarma but it’s still really good. The falafel is perfect! I wish it came with tahini or another dipping sauce. It does come with hummus, however. I’m not in love with the hummus– it’s a bit more lemony and less garlicky than I like. Still, I’ll definitely be ordering from here again!

Had the craving for chicken kebob and convinced the group of four I was with to stop here. At first glance, this is def a drunk food place and I’m pretty sure I was here at some point during college. However, the food is very good and the portions are surprisingly large. I tried the kebob pita and the kebob lunch platter(chicken, rice, hummus, and salad) and have to say the garlic sauce and the hummus were spot on. While the pita was a bit dry, the chicken had a nice char-grilled flavor to it. However, a warning: DONOTUSETHISESTABLISHMENT’S BATHROOMMID-MEAL. You’ll never want to eat again!

Went here after reading all the rave reviews and tired of being disappointed by Oasis(the food and service). The falafel pita is so much better here, and I like that the pita wraps are grilled – it adds a very pleasant crunch! But… I can’t bring myself to give more than 3 stars because I had to wait what felt like forever for my order(just a falafel pita and a Meghan’s, or however it’s spelled). Something like 20 minutes. I think they were short-staffed because people were taking breaks from after the lunch rush. I also like the flavor of my own falafels better. And they’re cheaper, just less convenient. So Pita Kabob Grill remains an okay choice, but I will probably not return too often.

Best lentil soup EVER! I agree with some of the other reviewers on here, their chicken can be on the dry side. Try the Makalee pita instead, it’s super yummy and vegetarian. Roasted cauliflower wrap with lots of garlic mayo, french fries, pickles. Sounds nuts coming from a meat eater, but it’s become my favorite thing on their menu.
