Still overpriced. Still marginal service. Still so many, many places to pay less and get so much better food. It should not be rocket science to bring the salad before the main course. At Pizza House you may: not get your salad at all; get your salad and main course at the same time; get your main course, then your salad. Truthfully, I have never experienced this issue at any other Ann Arbor restaurant.

The arugula farro salad with a truly meatball is my favorite. Good pizza. And the most wonderful thing is that they can accommodate people with severe tree but and peanut allergies. Yea!

Since I graduated from MSU I have been to the one in East Lansing more. But I have on several occasions eaten at this location. And I have to say that while I like the East Lansing location a little more, It’s essentially splitting hairs. As far as Chicago style deep dish or Sicilian style pizza goes you won’t find any better outside of Chicago. It takes a while to cook(menu says to preparation time is 45 min) but it’s more than worth the wait. If pizza isn’t your thing or you’re on a diet, their salads and sandwiches are terrific. Heck even the pasta is above average. So far I’ve been to this specific location around 5 or 6 times and I have yet to have a bad dish. Also they are fairly reasonably priced for dining in(delivery is a bit of a different story). Great spot to meet your college aged son or daughter and catch up on how their semester is going.

While the food is normally good, the prices are outrageous. Myself and 3 family members went for lunch yesterday. My mom ordered a small salad($ 11) that she found a large hair in(definitely not hers.) My daughter also got a small salad($ 12), that she said tasted like sand. I got nachos, not the loaded kind, just chips and cheese($ 16), actually, I ordered them with chicken, but that didn’t show up until half way through the meal, just a bowl of room temperature chicken. For FIVE dollars. You’d think when you forget a topping on nachos that were only ordered with 2 toppings, and the customer has to wait half way through the meal for said topping, you wouldn’t charge five bucks for it. Even if we forget the cold chicken in the nachos, what about the salad with the hair?! No free dessert?! No half off lunch?! Nothin. $ 62 for lunch, that one person didn’t even get to eat. We paid $ 62 for one salad, one sandwich, and chips with cheese. Oh wait, I forgot the 4 pops we got for $ 14. Definitely the last trip to the pizza house.

One small anecdote epitomizes my experience with this restaurant. I went here with my girlfriend, who ordered a «mocha» with her meal. She said it tasted awful and complained to the server. The server apologized and added, «Yeah, we get a lot of complaints about it. It’s just regular coffee and hot chocolate mixed together. I won’t charge you for it.» If you’re not willing to make something the right way and label it accurately, and if your customers regularly complain about it, why do you keep serving it? I can only conclude that they have contempt for their customers. And this conclusion is confirmed by the taste of their pizza. In the words of Kevin Malone, «it’s a hot circle of garbage.» Admittedly, I don’t like Midwestern style pizza, generally, and certainly not Chicago-style, but this is on the lower end of quality for those categories. If you stick with something like a hamburger, the food is edible. And if you’re dying to watch a UM coach’s radio show or bask in the Wolverine-centric atmosphere, you can survive here. But if you want good food, there are so many places that are better.

Be careful when ordering Chicago style deep dish. For a $ 30 dollar pizza, I’d expect crust with a little less girth. The toppings were light was well. I have eaten their pizza on occasion before and for the most part, it’s pretty good. However, this particular experience was not good at all.

I have been to both this Pizza house and the other location in East Lansing many times. The only thing I have ever had is their pizza. Both the traditional round and the Chicago deep dish. Both are EXCELLENT. The atmosphere at both locations are great. The restaurant is HUGE and can easily accommodate large groups. They also have a large menu with many options other than pizza to cater to anyone’s taste. However, I highly recommend the deep dish pizza. It’s phenominal and just like what you get in Chicago. This place can get crowded on the weekends, but it’s so big that the wait is still manageable. They’re open until 4am and their delivery range is massive. My sister works in Saline and they have delivered all the way to her workplace before(over 20 minutes away). The only reason I’m giving it less than 5 stars is because I have heard from people I’ve dined with that the food other than the pizza isn’t quite on the same level. Regardless, I highly recommend Pizza House if you’re in the area.

This review is based on one visit(last night) and the service we experienced, just want to be clear. I hope to go again and be able to change this rating. I’m a server, so I’m familiar with the industry and what I’m describing below. Our goal was to have dinner and make it to the 7pm basketball game relatively on time, and we made our server aware of that right away. 1pm: I made a reservation online for 5pm for 3 people. 4:15pm: I called and asked if we could move our reservation back to 5:30pm(bad weather coming from Lansing), and they were very helpful in accommodating. 5:30pm: One member of our party arrives and is seated, while the other two of us find parking. That party member orders our two pizzas and one app as the other two arrive. The server is helpful and friendly. The place is packed. 5:50pm: Our cheesy bread app arrives, it’s great, has the ranch we asked for. Our server checks in and gives refills water. Timing is great. 6:10pm: Server picks up our empty cheesy bread plate and refills water, no update is given(nor asked for) on pizza. 6:30pm: An hour after the pizza has been ordered, but this is somewhat understandable because it had been packed, but it’s starting to thin out as people head to the game. The server comes over and apologizes that the pizza is taking too long. We asked for an update on how long the pizza would be, and she responded«I mean, I could go downstairs and ask the kitchen» in a way that makes you think that doing so is a little silly. So we said«no that’s fine» and asked for boxes and check as soon as the pizzas get here(assuming it would be soon and the kitchen was just backed up). 6:40pm: No update is given(we didn’t technically ask for one) and still no pizza, and I tell my party members, I tell my friends that I’m guessing she forgot to put in the order because we were getting drinks to refill and she had a lot of tables to check in on and forgot about us. Not a big deal and that happens. But that made her response indicating she didn’t want to check in on the kitchen make more sense, even though it’s terrible service etiquette. 7pm: No one has checked in on us for 30 minutes, still no pizza. The game is starting a mile away. The upstairs is absolutely empty. The server is avoiding the area around our table. No managers have come to check in on us. 7:05pm: Our pizza arrives, the server gives us boxes and checks, we pay and leave with the pizza in boxes. The server is very apologetic that the food to so long, but says nothing of a mistake. The bill is not at all discounted. I try to grab a manager really quickly on the way out but there weren’t any in sight and we were in a hurry(not their fault). What upsets me about this experience is NOT the food(it was good) or that there was a mistake(that happens). What really upsets me is how the mistake was handled, there was zero care for the customer involved. I know these are college students and it was really busy, so missing an order isn’t a big deal. — Were we supposed to assume that the kitchen was taking 90 minutes to make pizzas? — Why didn’t anyone explain what happened while we were waiting? — Why didn’t the general manager(who walked nearby several times) come apologize and rectify things? Maybe the server didn’t tell anyone of her(assumed) mistake. I know there were things we could have done to be more proactive, but I was with friends and it wasn’t until 6:40pm that I really knew something had gone wrong and we were already late at that point. I don’t like to leave poor reviews, but I even less like to be served poorly.

One of my favorite pizza spots on Earth. What makes Pizza House so great: 1. Spacious venue: I’ve been to Pizza House countless times and only once had to wait for seating. Even then, it was only because two buses full of band students arrived at the same time. 2. Top notch pizza: I’m not a gourmet pizza specialist, so I can’t give insight on all of Pizza House’s complicated options. I’m a simple dude who likes simple pizza, and Pizza House’s pepperoni deep dish is absolutely top shelf. 3. Bread sticks: So good that one must exercise supreme discipline in not filling up before the main course is actually served. 4. Service: Has always been on point. Friendly, helpful, and often bearing mints if you’re lucky. 5. TV’s unobtrusive yet strategically placed: This typically means if there’s any kind of sporting event in progress, Pizza House will have it running. That said, it stays away from any sort of sports bar vibe, unless you’re literally sitting at the bar. A couple things worth mentioning on the other side: 1. The pizza takes a while to cook in the oven. Deep dish can be a 30-minute wait, and servers will warn you of such prior to order. 2. Pizza House is not particularly cheap. A small deep dish pizza, a medium traditional crust pizza, bread sticks, and three drinks easily eclipsed $ 50 during our most recent visit. I believe a small deep dish with one topping is $ 15.75 before tax. All told, the positives heavily outweigh any possible negatives. At this point in time, if I could choose any pizza locale in the state of Michigan, I’m pretty sure I’d go with Pizza House. Bonus: If you happen to be a University of Michigan fan, Jim Harbaugh, Red Berenson, and John Beilein tape their radio shows on Pizza House’s second floor each week. So that’s pretty cool.

Yes, this is a cool college hangout in Ann Arbor. Super late hours and a menu that has everything is an obvious appeal to the college crowd. I caution you that this place is not for the college budget. The prices are CRAZY expensive! A large(10 slices) speciality pizza is almost $ 28! And the high prices go for all items on the menu. The food is OK but does not warrant the high prices. The service is also questionable. More times than not, our table is forgotten about. Drinks go empty, missing silverware, etc. Also good luck if you want to split the bill. They are going to give you a pen and tell you to figure it out yourself.

Hands down favorite place to get pizza in Michigan! Always fresh and tasty, I usually get the Sicilian style — it takes awhile longer to bake(lots of big screen tvs to watch while waiting) but it is well worth the wait. I order it without the sesame seeds on the crust. The ice cream shakes are super delicious and the staff is always helpful and upbeat. Can’t go wrong at Pizza House!

Great pizza and jalapeño poppers. Cool drinks too. Wifi not working today. Great for late night munching. Much better service than btb, gtc, or brown jug

Next time I’m planning a pizza party, this will be my house! I went for a Wedding rehearsal dinner and I enjoyed my experience big time. Staff — The staff was very nice. Everyone we encountered had a great positive vibe, especially the hostess. They worked hard and made sure everyone was happy. Whoever did the hiring here deserves a fist bump. Great job! Atmosphere — I am a fan. It’s very University of Michigan-centric and even though I’m a huge Buckeyes fan, I thought they did a fine job with the layout. It looked good. Lots of TVs so I can enjoy the various sports games. Food — I’ve had the deep dish in the past and it is on point. During my latest visit, I had the salad. It was a solid salad, I then had many slices of cheese and pepperoni pizza. When it comes to pizza, you can gauge how well I enjoy the flavor by how many slices I eat. I had 8. Perfect sauce to cheese ratio. My only beef was there was no parm on the table, but despite that, I still managed to pound that pie. Drinks — Beers were sold nice and cold, but pricey, a little too pricey. Overall — I really had a great experience here and I plan on coming back really soon. They have a nice looking menu with many options.

I’ve been here many, many, many times! This has become my go to place in Ann Arbor, simply because it’s large enough that there is never any waiting. The pizza(and cheese bread) is the best. The rest of the menu is subpar in my opinion. The burgers are expensive for what you get and the rest of the menu is «meh.» My biggest complaint is the prices. I’ve left here wondering what happened to my wallet… the prices are a bit steep for what you actually get. The service is always hit or miss too. Many times I’ve had great service, and still other times the service has been poor at best. As an example, I ordered a buffalo chicken sandwich. It was terrible. When the waiter asked how my sandwich was I said, «terrible.» He laughed and said«that sucks» and walked away. Once I received my salad after my meal had arrived. I question this and the waiter said, «sorry bro.» Overall can’t complain too badly. The pizza is good(it’s called Pizza House for a reason), the place looks great and they are open late.

Pizza was over cooked. The cheese was mostly brown on top. The crust was tough and chewy. This pizza never should have never been sent out for delivery. I ordered the triple chocolate cake and I figured for $ 7 a slice it would be a big hunk or it would be homemade. Nope and nope. Terrible cake. Dry, store bought. I just spent $ 30 on the most unsatisfactory lunch I’ve eaten in quite some time. Order from another pizza house in Ann Arbor, there are plenty to choose from. Voted #1 pizza in Ann Arbor??? Rigged.

This is a review for their delivery service. I have never been let down by these guys. They deliver late into the night(or early) which is really appreciated by us midnighters. The food is always hot when it gets here(im located on the south side of the city). And the guys that deliver are always friendly, even at 3am. I love their pizza and shakes! Especially the strawberry banana shake. Im not a huge fan of the bread sticks but it could also be that they dont travel well. While ive never eaten in this location I will continue ordering from them not just because they are one of the few options for late night eating, but because they have pretty darn good food for a reasonable price. Check out their deals too!

Apparently my first time here was after Rick’s after a bar crawl so I didn’t remember they put their toppings underneath the cheese! This time I was just there with some friends for a pizza dinner. It’s a nice little pizza spot. As I’ve come to learn, Ann Arbor has many. This is one of the nicer aka fancier ones, and also more expensive. I’ve had the feta bread twice and enjoyed it both times. I’ve only ever gotten basic pepperoni pizza but it’s been good. They also apparently have milkshakes which my friends enjoyed. All in all a solid pizza spot. To expensive to eat often or deliver, but good.

If you’re looking for a close to authentic Chicago style deep dish pizza, look no further– pizza house is the place to go! This place is my favorite for the days I am craving a saucy, cheesy, doughy pizza. The only reason why I am giving pizza house three stars is for the lack of original cocktails, and the service. I have dined here several times with large groups when the restaurant was not busy, and received slow service, and rude service throughout the evening. I prefer takeout if possible, but if you are partial to long waits for food and drinks, dine in is fine.

OK. Here’s the thing: I pretty much never do this, but this is getting a little ridiculous. Guys, your driver(s) are awful. I just moved to A2 at the beginning of the semester and have already witnessed your Pizza House delivery vehicle speeding, not slowing down for pedestrians, and yeah, it does not make me want to eat your pizza. Whoever is driving needs to chill. Also, the photos from the 7÷6÷2014 reviews remind me of 1987 Predator. If I am not run over by a Pizza House vehicle in the next few weeks, I will definitely stop by, try pizza, and change or keep this rating based on how it tastes.
