Been to many Ruth’s Chris locations without any problems, not the case here. First of all they changed their menu took many things off the menu that we were looking forward to and their online menu was never updated. Ordered steakhouse salad when it was delivered it was 100% field greens menu calls for iceberg and we were told that there was nothing she could do about it since it was a premix, remember this a $ 10 salad this isn’t fast food. They removed the Lyonnaise potatoes from the menu we ordered instead mashed and found they similar to a frozen food side. Also if you were coming for a favorite dessert they changed those too. Besides all of this the server was non-existent, she hardly ever came around we waited for the busboy to even get drink refills. In the past we have had great experiences with this location but something has changed here. Buyer Beware.

I took my father here for an early Father’s Day dinner, it was both of ours first time. We both ordered filets which were cooked to perfection. We also had a side of the lobster mac and cheese… AMAZING. I enjoyed a glass if of delicious wine. We had great service ad well. I would recommend trying this restaurant.

Stick with the Chop House on Main Street. This was our first visit to Ruth’s Chris in Ann Arbor; It will be our last. It took three attempts for the chef to be able to prepare their 11oz filet to a medium temperature. After it was brought out and I cut into it, even the waiter agreed on the first and second attempts«It’s wrong». So, the balance of my party were enjoying their meals while I was relegated to eating the sides that we had ordered until the third steak arrived. While I accepted that, it came out on a searing hot plate and while it appeared to be cooked to medium when it was delivered, the plate made it a medium-well by the time I was halfway through it. It blows my mind that I am able to nail a 10oz filet to be a perfect medium on my grill at home, however a steakhouse can’t do it on three attempts. To add insult to injury, we brought our own wine into the restaurant(which we were still charged a corking fee for). When the waiter, Israel, went to refill my pellegrino, instead of standing to the right of me as he should have, he stood to the left and using some contorted arm extension, managed to pour pellegrino into my wine glass — while there was still wine in it. If he would have stood in the proper location when serving rather than being lazy, this may not have happened. I can’t believe they still charged a corking fee on wine that we didn’t get to enjoy completely. The managers(both of them) continued to apologize profusely through the night, however there is only so much«I’m sorry» can do before it means very little and starts to become an interruption. They didn’t charge me for my steak or two desserts we had, however it really doesn’t make up for the abomination of the fine dining experience we encountered. Lastly, with the delay in receiving my steak, I was moving at a slower pace than the rest of the table. Israel decided to set the check down next to me while I had just started dessert and before I had even finished dessert, or looked at the check, he was ready to take it to be run. Infuriating. We will stick with Chop House going forward; I suggest you do the same.

After hearing the few people I know that have had a steak from here rave about it I figured it was only a matter of time until I tried it myself. My sister wanted to go there for her birthday tonight so she made reservations for us to do so(which is a good idea because the place is pretty busy). The good(great): Steak? Wow. Pretty much top notch. I went for the 22 oz. cowboy ribeye(bone in) at a medium-rare temperature and it was quite possibly the best steak I’ve ever had. It comes on a 500 degree plate, which I don’t care much for because it will continue to cook a little bit, resulting in a closer to medium than medium-rare that I ended up with overall. Regardless, it was still delicious, and it was the hottest steak I’ve ever eaten. The asparagus was a solid«good,» not awesome but tasty. Every one of the staff members were extremely polite, and that definitely gave it a 5 star restaurant feel. Onto the bad: they’re not good at math. Being that it was my sister’s 26th birthday, their discount is 26% off of her meal. It took them 3 tries to get that right. Apparently their computer software program that they use to order the food doesn’t have a discount function so they have to do the math themselves and take it off that way. On the third try they ended up discounting her portion closer to 30%, but who’s going to argue with that? Bottom line: go to this place if you love steak, you won’t be disappointed.

We brought my fiancés stepmother here for her 50th birthday not long ago, and we couldn’t have been happier. There were six of us and we all had different items. The ahi-tuna an calamari were amazing. My wife to be had the petit filet and thought it was amazing, I had the bone in ribeye with blue cheese crust and was blown away. Walter was our server and he was bar none one of the best servers I’ve ever experienced eating out. Everyone really enjoyed the evening, especially when Paul one of the managers came by to congratulate our stepmom. Needless, to say we will definitely be back!

We dined here twice in the last week. The first time the steaks were very fresh and came with mild and tasty zip sauce on the plate. Today we were served steaks with a very heavy garlic, pepper, and mystery sauce that was attempting to cover up old meat. Both steaks were old and the cowboy steak was extra fatty. When we bought this to the managers attention he brushed it off. The head waiter was more interested in asking about our personal business than delivering the quality expected here. This is not at all like any of the other Ruth Chris steakhouses we have dined at.

Food was good. Service was good. Had to send steak back but they fixed it. Compared to other Ruth’s Chris this is a 3 star.

We had made reservations to celebrate our 50th anniversary in the hopes of having a quiet, romantic dinner. Upon arrival, we were seated next to a table of 4 extremely loud men. So much for a romantic evening. Our waiter Eric & his assistant Shaun were attentive & courteous. We each ordered appetizers(yummy) and the petite filet w/shrimp. Steak were done to perfection. We were never offered dessert & after we had finished our entrée, it took at least 5 minutes to order & get after dinner drinks & coffee. Found this very frustrating as is seemed to mean. times up… leave now. Many years ago, the Hyatt Regency in Dearborn had one of the best up-scale restaurants, La Rotisserie. We had the pleasure of frequently dining there(at least every 2 months) and have yet to find a place with this came caliber of food & service. Not sure if we will return to Ruth’s Chris again. We will continue to look for that restaurant that has all the things we loved at La Rotisserie.

Having been to many Ruth’s Chris locations around the country, my expectations were high when I walked into the local outpost on S. Fourth Street. The décor inside is modern with clean lines and subtle lighting. The hostess who greeted us projected a genuine warmness that was a welcomed departure from what one can experience at many other downtown dining venues. Starting with a delicious dinner salad, I chose the mixed grill for my entrée. It contained a small filet and roasted chicken breast. Both lived up to their billing. Ruth Fertel, who started this upscale chain more than 40 years ago, came through again with this recent addition to the A-squared dining scene.

I had dinner in the bar recently. It was very nice. The bar menu is short, but still has a good variety – from steak burger to salad to fish. I was too late for the Happy Hour deals, but they are outstanding; I’ll be back for those. We had a couple of the bar’s special cocktails, and liked them both. Very friendly staff made it an enjoyable meal.

Had an amazing experience all around. The food was incredible. I had the filet and it was cooked to perfection. The appetizer ahi tuna and crabtini were both delicious. There was also a ton of really great drink options. On top of all that, the service was outstanding! Our server was not only professional and attentive, but also very personable. I can’t wait to go back!

What can I tell you? It’s a Ruth’s Chris. They’re one of the consistently best chain restaurants in the US. The service does not disappoint at this location, and the food is on par with any other branch of the chain I’ve visited. Why 3 stars? Because compared with the other dining choices in Ann Arbor, especially Downtown, it’s just another chain business raising rents in the area. With locally-owned restaurants like Zingerman’s Roadhouse, Eve, Knight’s, Logan and Sava’s in the area, why the hell would you visit a chain restaurant? Particularly at these prices? Yikes. Bottom line: if you want the same experience you’ve had at other locations of this chain, go here. They do a good job replicating it, along with the premium menu pricing. If you want an authentic dining experience that supports local business, consider one of the above restaurants for an original fine dining experience at a much more reasonable price point.

I’m a long time supporter of Ruth’s Chris. The service is always good and the food is amazing. I came to this location for the first time for Happy Hour and was blown away by the compelling features. Happy hour is seven days a week from 4:30 to 6:00 and 9pm to close. It isn’t posted on their website. They also have Michigan game day specials. I highly recommend this place for dinner and happy hour. Jessica at the bar is a great bartender!

My family took me here for an engagement celebration and it was very wowing. The service was very attentive. We enjoyed the Zingerman’s bread very much. We shared the shrimp cocktail and the veal rigatoni. The dudes really liked the shrimp, and I was very found of the veal rigatoni. It’s been awhile since I’ve had homemade ravioli! My dad was the only one who ordered steak, and he was oo-ing and ahh-ing the whole way through. He also ordered a side of a loaded baked potato, which he didn’t touch that night, but enjoyed as a snack the next day and loved it. My stepmom had this really elegant looking salad which she thought was very tasty. My fiancé had these crab cakes which he thought were pretty good though he said he’s had better. I had a cheese stuffed chicken and it was magical. Literal magic. Each bite was beauty beyond measure. And then I had a bite of the pecan crusted mashed sweet potatoes. By the end of the meal, I was basically liking the bowl in front of all the classy customers. ITWASDIVINE!!! The staff brought us out a celebratory chocolate cheesecake, which was quite good. We also ordered bread pudding and key lime pie to split, because our eyes our bigger than our stomachs, which clearly had little room. The bread pudding was marvelous and spiced just right. The key lime pie was yummy, but I prefer my key lime pies a little less runny. I’m going to go here again and just order the side of pecan crusted mashed sweet potatoes. Maybe even 2. I don’t care.

LOVE going here. This is a great new dining addition to Ann Arbor and one of our favorite places to go for dinner. We have been there about 9 times since it opened because we always enjoy the experience. The food is very good(we usually order the Filet) and so is the service and atmosphere. We also enjoy the champagne selection provided here which is the best in Ann Arbor.

Chris and I ate here for our 12th anniversary. I believe it was Kelly that took excellent care of us the entire time. Ruth’s Chris is obviously setup for higher end dining, but they were quite happy to accommodate our very dressed down apparel. What was fun was being asked if we were part of the pipe-fitter’s convention that was in town; several members of which came in after us. :-) We both had the fillet and each was done perfectly according to how we each ordered it. I had the lobster macaroni, which was slightly a lobster sauce with the mac&cheese, but was more a huge chunk of lobster on top of a good sauce. The key lime pie at the end of the meal was well worth saving the space for. The venue was probably one of the priciest places we’ve ever eaten in Ann Arbor, but the food easily was better than the Chop House, which is the usual high end place that we’d eaten on special occasions. We certainly won’t be regulars here, but we’ll be back for special occasions.

Amazing, excellent, unbelievable service. The ambiance is very nice and it’s convenient that the parking structure is immediately next door to the restaurant. The appetizer we had was the calamari with the sweet chili sauce, which was very good. The gratin spinach was great as well. However, the steaks were just okay. When I am paying that much for a steak, I pretty much expected it to knock my socks off. At least 90% of the time, I can do a better job at home on a grill with an excellent cut of meat. I guess if you have a lot of money to blow, and just want the experience, go ahead. But was it worth almost $ 200 for a steak dinner for 2 with a side item, an appetizer, and two cups of soup? No, it wasn’t.

My hubs & I went for our 5 year dating anniversary(we’re newlyweds so we haven’t let that one go yet ;), and found that our server was one of our servers that assisted us for our 4 year anniversary at Coach Insignia! Which was a pleasant surprise, given we had a great time there as well. Abdullah was fantastic– professional, warm and accommodating. I would happily return for his service.(Thanks Abdullah!) Food was pretty spot on, minus a few exceptions. I had the cowboy ribeye and hubs had the bbq shrimp entrée. Firstly, the cowboy… wow. Sorry Chop House, but this was on another level! Thicker cut but just so perfectly marbled and succulent. Unreal flavor, PERFECT seasoning– perfect salting. The bbq shrimp though, as delicious as it could have been, the sauce was slightly underseasoned. The dish seemed to underwhelm hubs a little bit. But shrimps were cooked well and overall, acceptable. Now the side dishes– I love the array, but there were some flops. The cowboy might trump Chop House, but the sides didn’t come close. We had the mushrooms, broccoli au gratin & onion rings. The mushrooms were huge caps sitting in an oil puddle, the onion rings were soggy(not close to crispy) and a bit greasy, and the broccoli au gratin just wasn’t impressive, albeit not as bad as the others. The interior is gorgeous and I love how they’ve sectioned off different colors/themes to different parts of the space. Would love to host or attend a party held here in one of their beautiful rooms upstairs. I am anticipating going back to try some different sides and probably order another cowboy, as well as trying out their happy hour and checking out their very pretty bar. Can’t wait!

Gonna make this simple to follow. Great rooms with a good atmosphere. Great service! Very professional and attentive. Give yourself plenty of time for a lengthy dining experience, not just another meal. We enjoyed 2 hours of continuously attentive and well timed courses. Calamari is delicious. MUSTHAVE. Lobster Bisque — Good, but not my personal favorite. Chop House Salad — definitely not meal sized, which wasn’t clearly articulated. I’d hate to generalize, but I know sometimes my girlfriend is just craving a good steakhouse salad, which this place doesn’t have to offer. Personally I think the presentation is a little overthought for something of its nature. Steak — GETASMUCHASPOSSIBLE! Had mine with the blue cheese crust. Asparagus — NOTWORTHIT. Very plain, not worth the 11.50 $ charged. Mashed Potatoes — flavor was mediocre, and reminded me of the thinness and consistency of boxed mashed potatoes. Mushrooms — Very good. Would definitely order again. Drinks –Strong and delicious. Bread Pudding — Done well, not as dense as some I’ve had, which is great. There’s also a delicious thin pudding served. Overall, I’d come back knowing I would order the calamari, porterhouse for 2 with mushrooms, and a wonderful dessert.
