Salads are pretty good but I think they’re a bit overpriced, and they should offer a smaller size. The smallest out of the two is enough for two people.

I was working nearby and it was a hot day so I thought salad for lunch sounded good. I came in and was assisted immediately. I got the saddle up salad. It was made for me quickly but the price was steep. I found it to be outrageous after I sat down to actually eat the salad. It was about $ 13 with tax. There were literally no toppings in the salad. There were maybe two cherry tomatoes, a few tortilla strips and maybe 0.5 oz of chicken with a black bean and maybe five kernels of corn. I do not exaggerate. The salad was nearly nothing but lettuce. The menu board purported this salad to be 750 calories. Bullshit! I need to eat a lot of calories and enough protein because I lift heavy. So I was quite angry that I was totally deceived. The salad probably contained 300 calories at most, half from the dressing. My general feelings were«should have just gone to chipotle»

The food is pretty good but it is really over priced. You only get 4 choices of add ins before they charge up the wazoo. Premium add ins are over the top in price and dressings are very high in calories and they use too much.

This place is fast and convenient. Their menu is to the point, you walk in and everything is listed in an orderly manner. Their ingredients are all fresh, they chop your salad in front of you so you get that burst of fresh flavor coming from your veggies. This place is very clean and the staff is very friendly. You won’t regret choosing them.

Worst customer service ever!!! Food is mediocre at best! Made a mistake in reading the fine print on the Groupon, so we decided to give the other two groupons away to COMPLETESTRANGERS, pay it forward instead of throwing away money. Manager decides to not allow those customers to redeem them either. NO reason not to redeem, they met the criteria Limit 1 per person. Limit 1 per visit. Limit 1 per party per visit. They got to keep my money and provided horrible customer service. I was told, «Groupons last for a long time… basically saying you should have used them before they expire in 2 days.» Thanks for nothing!!!

First time I went here it was great. Second time, which was last week my coworker found a long black hair in their salad. Third time? Completely skimpy, I payed $ 14 for a salad I couldn’t find the proteins or avocado in. I won’t be back. This place has no standard of service. Keep walking and get a salad somewhere else.

Salads UP is a great option for people looking for a healthier alternative for lunch in downtown Ann Arbor. They have a variety of pre-made salads, or you can customize a salad, though adding on toppings can get kind of expensive. It tends to get busy around the 11:30/11:45 hour for the lunch rush, but they work pretty fast to get orders done. The ingredients have always been fresh for me and they’re accommodating to vegetarian and vegan diets. The only downsides is price. The average price is between $ 11 – 13 for a salad which seems a little excessive in my opinion, but on the flip side, you do get quite a bit of salad for the price. So it kind of evens out. The only other con I have is that I noticed they don’t use a different cutting board or knife for chopping up vegetarian/vegan salads from the meat ones. If you’re a vegetarian and the person ahead of you ordered something with steak or chicken, they chop up the salad on the same station which I’m not the biggest fan of.

I’m a salad junkie, so I was SO happy to see a quality salad shop in downtown Ann Arbor. Fresh ingredients, homemade dressings, what else can you ask for?! I got«the saddle up». It’s a pre made salad from their menu but because I’m vegetarian, I requested egg in place of chicken. It was great! They were super accommodating of any substitutions I wanted, and I loved that they chopped the greens into edible sized pieces before mixing the salad! The dressing was delicious, and even though it was a chipotle ranch, not too calorie dense. The only complaint I have is that the boiled eggs were SO salty. Inedibly salty. It tasted like they had been left in a salt/vinegar brine and forgotten about. Unfortunately, I couldn’t eat them. I will definitely be back to try others!

Love this place. Their Deja moo and Robb Cobb signature salads are both amazing. I usually«mix it up» though, to get exactly what I want. Everything is super fresh and your salad is chopped, thankfully. I am a fan of the shallot balsamic vinaigrette and bbq Russian dressings. The first time I came here I tried the spinach pesto and was not a fan– basically tasted like leaves on my leaves but that was my own bad dressing choice. Delivery can take a super long time– I had it take two hours once. And I’ve also gotten a salad without all the toppings ordered. Generally it takes about an hour and is fairly reliable though(I’ve gotten it about 5 times) Also, they donated coupons for an MRelay fundraiser I was involved in. Super nice that they are willing to help out a good cause. Never been disappointed in customer service, even when they get busy during lunch hours. Definitely have been eating more salads since this place came along :)

Salads up has BEST salads in Ann Arbor. I would definitely recommend stopping by and trying one of their amazing salads, I promise it’s worth all the hype. With dozens of toppings and fun salads to choose from, Salads Up attracts loyal customers on a daily basis!

I went back to salads up again today and the customer service has improved a lot! However, I’m not sure it’s because these are different people but I would like to see them keep their service level higher up. Not only I will enjoy the food, I will also enjoy their service as well.

They have three types of coldpressed juices, all three are delicious and nutritious! Such an affordable juice at five dollars a piece for 10 ounces of delicious nutrition. Very impressive. Would recommend to any and all friends! Great staff, smiley and friendly and also tidy and accurate with orders. I can see how it would get hectic but everything was transitioned well and the food was absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone who is looking to eat healthy but remain full. The portion sizes are huge so don’t let the price scare you, this could easily feed two people if you wanted to share or have leftovers for later. Don’t forget your juice! Enjoy

On a recent visit to Ann Arbor, I stumbled upon this little salad shop that wasn’t here a couple years ago on my last visit. I had never been to a salad only restaurant, so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I was blown away! The place is small, but nicely done with scarcely decorated walls and handwritten signs… and it was very clean. The place was pretty busy for lunch, but that didn’t stop the young lady at the beginning of prep line to help me patiently choose a signature salad, The Saddle Up. She even recommended an addition of avocado to my salad that I was glad I accepted. They guy at the cash register suggested I try the fresh made juice and seemed mighty proud of it, so I gave it a shot. I had the UP2 juice with pineapple, cucumber, and kale and it was delicious; much better than the Tropicana juices you can buy in stores. The dining room was very small with communal tables, but it was’t hard to find a seat. The complimentary water pitcher with chopped fruit was also a very nice touch. If you haven’t checked out this place yet, you really should. But you don’t have to rush. With fresh food, great customer service, and a busy line, this place will be around for a long time!

Big, big bowls of green. You won’t leave hungry, although you may find a meal here wanting for other reasons. I got the Maize and Bleu, my wife got the Saddle Up. The greens on both were generous and fresh. But kale in my salad wasn’t washed thoroughly and I got grit in nearly every bite. I did enjoy the zingy shallot vinaigrette dressing on it, though the chipotle ranch on my wife’s salad was nearly chipot-less. Both salads lacked enough non-leafy elements. There was an adequate amount of meat(though the shrimp on mine was a bit bland), but the beans, corn, seeds, and especially on mine, the cheese, were very sparse… not enough bleu on mine to justify the name. The restaurant was very cold while we were there. We never unzipped our coats. I wouldn’t rule out a return visit, though I may wait for the warmer months. The meal was bad, it was certainly was filling, and it could have been better with a few tweaks. Next time I’ll ask the salad maker to toss on a little more of the cheese or other toppings. While the salads aren’t cheap($ 11 each for ours), you would likely end up paying more for a dinner salad anyplace nearby that might not be much better. It’s nice to have another non-starchy option downtown.

I really like that we finally have a decent salad place downtown, I just wish their prices were a little lower for the quantity of food you’re getting. Salads Up’s flavors are pretty spot on; however, some things lack that pop of spiciness that would make the salad excellent(e.g., the shrimp skewers). I think I’ve stuck with the Maize and Bleu on each of my visits. They also have some interesting dressing options, such as «Seasonal Beer Vinaigrette,» that you won’t find elsewhere. I haven’t tried their juices yet, but I like to know that I have that option. Hopefully they get enough foot traffic to stay open. There is something about that mix of kale and arugula that keeps me coming back for more…

Meh. Three stars. I feel like it’s not good enough for how expensive it is. Nice cute spot on Liberty. Enough room to eat in but we got to-go. I’m not a salad eater usually at all which is why I probably wasn’t blown away by the options. They’ve got five or six pre-made salads or you can build your own a-la-pieology style. For $ 6.50, I got romaine lettuce base with 4 included toppings: mandarin oranges, green apple and shredded carrots(that were multicolor), she said croutons would be added at the end but they weren’t and I forgot. The $ 4 premium topping steak I had was for some reason not on the menu. Neither was the bbq-something or other dressing I got that I was told was created specifically for their steak. I had a Hooked deal for $ 2 off so it was 9.01 total for me. The taste was okay. Okay lettuce, okay steak, okay toppings. But I found the sauce to subtle with not enough flavor. Overall I wasn’t blown away my the flavor, portions or anything else that matter — especially for the price. I’m not really likely to come back here again. Not my cup of tea, but others may like it if it’s more of your style.

I ordered the Heapin’ Harvest with lettuce instead of barley. I wanted quinoa but that would be an extra $ 2. Okay. My salad was refreshing and tasted like it was made with quality ingredients. Pretty yummy. However, I couldn’t justify making this place a regular lunch spot as much as it’s sorely needed in Ann Arbor’s sea of carb-filled eateries. I had a coupon here for $ 6 off, otherwise, I think the prices are ridiculous. If they knock off like $ 2-$ 3, then I would consider it.

Finally got to try the maize and bleu salad! Absolutely wonderful!!! The shallot balsamic vineragrette was out of this world as well! Staff was very friendly and helpful to all my questions. In response to the last Unilocaler when I entered the establishment all the ladies had their hair pulled back and the girl who helped me changed her gloves when handling the computer. No problems with cleanliness. If you’re looking for quick service with fresh taste this is the place to go!
