A hidden gem on the south side of Central Campus. I work in the library next door, so from time to time I find myself ducking down to the Seigle Café for a quick lunch or a snack when I can’t quite make it through the day but don’t feel like leaving the building in search of food. Depending on the time of day and year, your meal options include: — a salad bar with an assortment of greens, chopped veggies, and deli meat — sandwiches made to your specification — grilled options including burgers, chicken breast, and black bean burgers with fries or steamed vegetables — hot entrees that often include ethnic food options — several soup selections — breakfast pastries and yogurt — grab & go versions of the above — ice cream treats or freshly-baked cookies — Starbucks coffee I can’t remember the specifics of the $ 5 lunch deal, but I believe it includes an entrée from the grill, a side dish, and a fountain soda — so a burger, fries, and a soda a comparable price as at Wendy’s, except made to your specification. So why only three stars for what I’m calling a «hidden gem»? I love that all of their dishes, cups, and silverware are compostable. I don’t love that my grilled chicken has been under cooked, or that the salad bar is always a little more expensive than I think it should be. I like that they have giant burritos that are big enough for two meals. I wish they had a wider range of salad bar options — and also more ice cream. Definitely more ice cream.
