Sherwin-Williams Paint Store

I have shopped at this S-​W store FOREVER but have never thought to review it. First, the store is conveniently located on the north side of Jackson Road just east of Zeeb. The location allows for easy in and easy out including parking! There is amble parking always. Another great factor is that the store has long hours even in the evening and weekends. I am one of those people that remembers to order paint at an odd hour and typically this store is open for me to run over and buy paint. The employees are always helpful and nice. They ask questions to make sure I have the correct paint needed. The store keeps electronic records of the paint you buy so if you need a new gallon or quart for touch-​up the information is retained on system under your name. Great selection of wallpaper and supplies too. The store can get VERY busy on Saturdays but otherwise you will be in and out in 10 – 15 minutes from start to finish.

The guys who work here are so incredibly pleasant and helpful. They always alert us to upcoming sales, and have even gone so far as to save a box of stuff for us in the back for several days so we could save money at an upcoming sale without having to pick out all the supplies again. Great quality products too!

The guys behind the desk were helpful in suggesting the proper paint for both of my applications and finding a unique roller size that I required.

Ask about an in-​home color consultation. It’s only a $ 75 gift card that you use toward the purchase of your paint. Great expert advice, and curtious knowledgable staff.
The store does get busy in the AM with contractors, the best time to come in is the afternoon, after 3PM.

Do not go to this store if you are looking for competent sales people. I went thinking I would be able to get guidance on paint colors and finishes. No! I also took a shelf in to get stain matched and told them to test on the bad side of the wood. The sales person said he wouldn’t know what side is the bad side. Ummmm, not sure I want him stain testing either, will he be able to tell if it’s a match? He can’t figure anything else out…
After looking at paint for ½ an hour without being able to decide on the right colors, another customer told me they had a free in-​home consult and I should try it. So I went up to the counter, same salesperson, and saw the sign «free» in-​home consult if you are having trouble picking colors. I told him I need that and he said I just have to buy a $ 75.00 gift card to use toward paint purchase. I already spent $ 1700 on painters/​paint that has to be Sherwin Williams. He then said I could pay a $ 50.00 consult fee. What part of that is Free? And, why would I pay anything to someone who doesn’t seem to have any knowledgeable input on painting??? I do not recommend this place at all.
