I had a great Iberico ham sandwich there. It wasn’t cheap, but it was real and I will pay for real any day. Having been to Spain, I can confirm the owners convictions with nothing more than a sandwich. Juan was a funny and engaging guy that clearly wants people to get to know Spanish food… he was real too.

We went here after being at Bill’s Beer Garden. We had a Cuban sandwich which was listed under the«specialty sandwich» menu. I saw the $ 13 price, but figured the sandwich would be somehow worth it. Maybe packed with meat or the other ingredients? It wasn’t. I brought it home, and realized that I just spent a ton of money on a foot-long baguette with a thin slice of meat and cheese with pickles and mustard. Not even a side to go with it. I would give this one star based on this overpriced sandwich, but the people were friendly.

I love bocadillos — they’re the sandwich with a hard, crusty bread and whatever you want to put in it. Simply Spanish has an omellete version(tortilla espanola) with manchego that I ordered. I’m not sure where the manchego was in the sandwich because I couldn’t see it or taste it but overall it was good. This is the thing they need to really listen to, though — ITCOSTSTOOMUCH($ 10). I will probably never order from them again because their prices are just ridiculous. I can order a medium corned beef sandwich from Amer’s($ 9.99) and spend exactly the same amount and that is MEAT — far more expensive than eggs, potatoes, and bread. Don’t be short sighted and jack prices up — you will get one time visitors and no repeat ones.

We ordered the Paella combo with bacon wrapped figs and manchego cheese. The figs and cheese were nice(rating: 7 of 10). But, the paella was simply terrible! The rice was very undercooked and hard. We could only eat about a fourth of it before we took it back. The lady told us that«the pot does that» and it «was normal.» We disagreed and said it was simply undercooked. She did not apologize or ask if we wanted something else. So, we threw it away and left. Avoid! There are better options out there.

Unique food, outstanding Paella and menu… best in Place to eat tapas and Paella in AA. Seriously this guy open last year his truck, I can tell you what he cooks is real, I have lived is Spain several years and his food is authentic, price is a bit high but need to understand this is not a typical food truck with hotdogs or burritos, what this guy offers is hard to find in Ann Arbor or even Michigan… I’m giving 4 stars because he has improved tremendously his food quality and because is just a cart. I would like to see this guy in a couple of years…

So happy we stopped here yesterday! We had a plate of chicken paella and a txistorra sandwich. The owners of the cart were so friendly(gave us samples of a lemon granita!) The pork sausage in the txistorra was delicious omg. And the bread was toasted perfectly. We fell in love with this sandwich and can’t wait to get it again. It doesn’t have many fillings(just the sausage actually) but was a substantial size and made us very full. The chicken paella was also good, but I wasn’t as fond of the firmer grain texture. The prices are slightly higher than you would expect at a food truck, but you also receive a larger portion. We’ll be back for sure.

Spanish tapas and paella. We had the bacon wrapped dates. They were fantastic; sweet and salty with a little bit of tang. The croquettes were incredibly good too. Xavier, the owner, was incredibly helpful in offering various options
