Great miso! It’s not the best sushi, obviously, but it garners a soft spot in my heart – when I’m on North Campus. I mean, nothing else keeps my research on track like a Panda Sushi lunch! Seriously.

I really can’t believe I’m about to write this review. I’m already ducking the anticipated rotten tomatoes that will be thrown at me, followed by a rapid expulsion from the ‘authentic sushi club.’ So. This little stand is on the second floor of Duderstadt on North Campus. It is not to be confused with its Chinese counterpart which is downstairs. I’m just going to clear the air and say, yes, I understand the sushi is made by a Chinese company(and one that cranks out the most MSG packed, artery clogging, awful food in the biz). Yes I understand anytime you see sushi in a prepackage state it should set off alarm bells. Yes, this isn’t necessarily the most traditional. But you know what? It’s affordable(6 bucks for two rolls?!). The rice is good. They make rolls throughout the day to meet demand so they are actually super fresh. The fish actually ain’t bad! Their spicy tuna rolls are generous and tasty!(Better than Whole Foods!) The california rolls are good. Even their nigiri, compared to other attempts at corporate sushi, is quite decent. If you don’t see the combination of rolls or rolls/nigiri you want, they’ll custom roll fresh ones and pack them up for you. I know you think me mad but if you’re in a time crunch and are stuck around that area, pop in and grab some! I’ve eaten here about 40 times and out of those, maybe once or twice I wasn’t satisfied with the quality. But I still ate it =]
