The best place to learn salsa and bachata in Ann Arbor. Do not miss out! Stay on the alert for groupons. Some dancers from the studio show what can be learned:

As far as dance venues go this place could be all you’d ever want, it has a lot of character, the brick wall, the original, not quite flat floor, etc. The only drawback I see is that the A/C is incapable of dealing with large groups, we had 100+ there for KISSME, and it was almost unbearable after the place filled up with people.

A peaceful, introspective, and beautiful space. Over recent years, the people who practice here have built up habits and energy that make this an ideal place for intense, contemplative disciplines, as well as for very open, honest and fun interactions and play. Beautiful natural light on the east, west and south. The space is integrated with the life of downtown with its enormous, hundred-year-old, east-facing windows on Main Street. But at the same time it’s also insulated from street-level sounds and movement through a series of vestibules. Scott Berry cares for the space with a great sensitivity to practitioners’ needs, and attention to every aesthetic detail. Again, it’s great for contemplative, intense disciplines such as yoga and martial arts, or for group events.

Downtown spot for dance(salsa /swing /tango), yoga and movement. The salsa lessons /practice on Tuesdays are intermediate(Laura Geldys is great!) and the same group has salsa dances on 1st/3rd Saturdays with a beginner lesson before the dance. Crowd is a wide variety of ages 20 – 50, small but friendly, laid back, casual, not dressy. There is swing every Friday — blues, swing and lindy hop(west coast swing 3rd Friday, fusion 1st Friday) with a beginner lesson before the dance. We like going here better than a lot of Detroit dance nights — can’t beat it for having dinner & drinks right on Main Street and then walking a few blocks to dance.
