Not sure if the issue happened on the packing end in Michigan or the unpacking end in California so I suppose this is more a review of North American Van Lines than any particular affiliate, but it was a horrible experience. First the packers and loaders forgot about the need for two deliveries, even though I told the estimator and the actual packers the day of, at the destination so they packed everything incorrectly. Furthermore, many of my boxes looked like they had been drop kicked and thrown around repeatedly. My homebuilt PC was packed in the original box from the tower, with the custom shaped styrofoam, and was double boxed with an additional layer of padding. My case is still bent out of square and the internals have been knocked loose. Still putting it back together to see if it works so I’m hoping for the best. This does not even begin to touch on broken dishes and kitchen appliances and I’m terrified to eventually go through the boxes that went right to a storage locker that we won’t be unpacking until we move out of temporary corporate housing in another six months. All in all, a terrible experience and I strongly suggest you avoid North American Van Lines and their affiliates/​franchisees like University Moving and Storage.
