Spurlock’s Malt Shop

Great little small town atmosphere! Obviously try the malt if you’re stopping at Spurlock’s Malt Shop! Tried a bunch of flavors and while chocolate is my favorite I haven’t found a bad one in the bunch!

Excellent atmosphere and the food is consistently excellent! There is a great variety of drinks and shakes! I love the fact that they set up almost a drive-​in movie sometimes on the weekends!

You usually have to wait a while on your food because the kitchen is small. We used to go all the time but, its gone down hill recently. The burgers are similar in quality to Sonic or Carls Jr. The ice cream is just soft serve and nothing special.

This place rarely disappoints. I think in all the times I’ve been enjoying the amazing food here I’ve had one bad visit. The staff is attentive and friendly. The owners are really nice people that know what it means to be a part of a community. And did I mention the food?
Personal favorites
1. Grilled Chicken Salad with Jalapeños and Ranch Style Dressing.
This salad is huge and packed with flavorful, juicy grilled chicken breast. The meat is tender and never dry and stringy. The tomatoes and onions taste like they just came out of the garden. It’s a great salad for a lunch to fill you up.
2. Texas Toothpicks
How does one describe fried perfection? Texas toothpicks are thin slices of jalapeño and onion battered and fried to the perfect crunch and served with a side of ranch. I have never seen these offered anywhere else and they are the perfect compliment to any order. I have even placed an order of toothpicks on the salad above. It adds a whole new texture to an already amazing salad.
3. Chicken Fried Steak sandwhich
There is just something awesome about this sandwhich that makes me come back. The texture and crunch of the CFS, the zing of the mustard, the freshness of the veggies, it just can’t be beat by any other place in town. This sandwhich is truly Texas sized. You don’t even need fries or Texas Toothpicks to go with it.
4. Sweet Snow.
This is my absolute favorite way to beat the Texas heat. To called this a snow cone or a slushy is to do it grave injustice. I’m not sure how they do it but the texture of the shaved ice can only be compared to snow. There are so many different flavors to try, but my favorite is amaretto. You should definitely try one of any of the flavors on a hot day.

Malts are not good there but the deep fried fried twinkies are good the only problem I have with this place is that there never open even when there hours say they should be open there not there’s been two times I’ve driven there at 7 at night just to find all the lights off cause there closed

I LOVE THIS PLACE! It’s super cute, food is amazing!!! Haven’t tried anything I didn’t love unfortunately for my diet!

This place had great sweet treats and a cool atmosphere! We had a variety of treats: shakes, malts, banana splits, and funnel cake, we were all happy with our choices. The seating area is very cute with 50’s decoration and tables. Wish they could get the music to play inside the seating area also.

Best burger in a long time. Nothing better then a bacon cheeseburger on a Friday night

Excellent burgers, BLT is delicious for just a BLT. Fried desserts are a hit. Good drive in place when you don’t want McDonalds or Carls Jr.

Tonight I wanted a good burger and found one of the best. Food was great and staff was really friendly. So glad I saw my neighbors post about this place on FB and can’t wait until my next visit. Saved me a trip to McKinney. Thumbs up…
