Big Papa Pizza and Wings

There I was stuck at the Social Security Administration with my teenage son and we were both starving.
These guys delivered food in 40 minutes straight to the Social Security Administration’s door although we had to eat it outside their security guard was very understanding.
Everything was great price, was good sandwiches were awesome — their fries are fantastic.
I definitely recommend these guys in a pinch and the food is fantastic.

Solid choice. Quick delivery. Great deals. I live a mile away and can have food 10−15mins after picking up the phone. They delivered last winter in the snow too!

I’ve always seen the Big Papa signs on the delivery cars and have always been curious about the place! The eatery is located off of Little River Turnpike, in a little plaza that is next to the old BonChon. The menu offers items such as pizzas, strombolis, wings, subs, kabobs/​gyros, salads, pastas, chicken tenders, fried chicken, wraps, sides (onion rings, jalapeño poppers, fries, etc.), and desserts. The hubs and I finally had our chance to check them out — ordering was super easy, as I took advantage of the Eat24 online ordering system via Unilocal: D We ordered the following: 1 Medium (12″) Half & Half Cheese (which you can choose to do ½ of your preferred toppings; we did half pepperoni and half sausage — the pizza was actually pretty good and tasty, as it wasn’t too saucy, and there were ample amount of pepperoni slices and chunks of savory sausages), 8 wings (that you can choose from their extensive list of sauces; comes with ranch or bleu cheese dressing; I wasn’t much of a fan of these wings, as the sauce was a little off, but, the hubs actually liked them!), 1 8″ Cheese Steak (12″ also available; this was actually pretty good — the chopped steak was seasoned well and quite yummy; it would have been great if the soft roll was toasted, though!), and a side of Pizza Fries (crinkle-​cut fries, covered with marinara and mozzarella cheese — we both weren’t fans of these, as the marinara sauce was just way too overpowering and it just wasn’t tasty). Once you put the order in, you get a phone call confirmation from Big Papa. The employees here are extremely friendly and definitely pay attention to your specifications in terms of preparations of certain items — I really appreciated that! They also offer deals and coupons, so check their website out. I’ll definitely be ordering pizza and the Cheese Steak again and would like to try out their specialty pizzas as well as their kabobs/​gyros the next time! :D

My only gripes would be that the pizza always seems different and the wings are unpredictable (sometimes they don’t give you the amount that you ordered or they will call back to say they are out of a certain type — which is polite but inconvenient). I thought it kind of strange also, that when you order their wings they will occasionally come with bleu cheese containers from KFC! They are friendly and speedy enough, but every time we order we are missing something (a few wings, bleu cheese, a 2-​litre, etc.) We’ll still order from here from time to time, but will always assume something will be amiss.

Standard carryout that specializes in pizza and wings. Service was very good, didn’t interact during the actual order as their website is fully automated but when I arrived to pick up my order the older man behind the counter was very pleasant, he even went so far as to give a large pizza when I ordered a medium.
Food is okay but nothing special. Pizza is the thin variety, could have gone for more sauce and cheese but it was tasty enough, perfect if you have kiddies that don’t really have taste buds. Also had the wings, they have a variety of spices and will let you mix and match flavors if you wish. I went with the honey BBQ and Pineapple Express, honey BBQ was the true hit, sweet with a nice tangy finish. Pineapple Express was less than impressive and lacked any distinct flavor. I would steer clear of that option moving forward.
A return trip is possible in my future as they provide decent food at an affordable price but I wouldn’t break my neck to visit.

What a nightmare order this was.
Sitting in the Hilton hotel with two kids. Order a pizza, wings, cheese fries, and a gyro platter with a dinner salad.
First, no napkins, ketchup, or dressing was included.
The worst part was the delivery driver calling me and telling me I had to come down to the lobby to get the delivery. Now, I wish they or the hotel had told me. I had no room key and two kids in pajamas. When the driver called and told me I had to come down to get the food, I said that it going to be difficult. I asked if I could call the front desk and approve him coming up. He said to just come down. I responded that I had no key and two kids with me. He said, «Why don’t you get smart and put something in the door and get down here and pick up your food.» I very angrily did just that. If I could have tipped him negative, I would have. What a jerk!!! I called Hilton and told them that they should not give out that delivery menu to anymore guests if they are going to treat people like that.
Then to find out that there is not even one napkin, salad dressing, or any ketchup in the bag after ordering $ 60 worth of food, that is just plain rude to do to hotel guests.
I will NEVER order from this place again. I am going to scour the Internet to find every possible site that holds reviews and I am going to SCREAM about the nightmare that is Big Papas.
TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE service. HORRIBLE to-​go packing. Food was fine. Nothing to write home about. The salad looked fresh and delicious, but I will never know because I was not hungry for dry salad. The cheese fries went in the trash because the kids wanted ketchup. The pizza was decent. The wings were terribly oversauced.
All in all, this place blows.

Ordering by phone was super easy. Got three types of wings, thail chilli which was completely heatless but delicious, garlic parm with the tiniest heat and probably my fav, and ragin cajun which was a lil more spicy and (surprise!) also great. The wings were ready fast and they were hot and meaty and affordable. The only thing I would have differently is something besides Ken’s ranch packets, but I don’t really care Ken’s is fine and the packets are ample.
I can’t comment on the pizza but the wings were good.

Garlic Parmesan wing sauce is awesome! Great flavor and I recommend it! Pizza was ok but wings were great!

I found a freaking nail in my food! Not a human mail, though that would be disgusting. I mean an actual, metal nail. Don’t ever order from here unless you want to die.

Another FINE job! The BEST wings we’ve ever had! These wings put hard times to shame y’all! Nicest guys around.

Online ordering was fast and easy (through Eat24), plenty of menu options.
Took about 1.5 hour to arrive, even though it was a weekday afternoon after the lunch rush period. I had to reheat everything (it was lukewarm), but thankfully my full order was in the bag, including sauces and parmesan. Delivery driver had some difficulty finding my building and using the call box to get building access, but he was nice so I didn’t mind much.
Food was good overall. Reasonable price, around $ 20 for a 12 inch 1-​topping pizza + wings (including $ 1.50 delivery and tip). Enough for two people. The pizza was reasonably good (might have been better if I had heated in the oven rather than microwave, but I was too hungry by the time I got it) and the Ragin Cajun chicken strips had a nice kick to them and were moist enough. Fries were soggy, so I only had a couple of those.
I might order again from here if I am not in a rush to get my food. I usually order from Paisano’s, which always delivers faster than the estimated time (and food is always hot), but I had wanted to try this place out to see what else is in the area.

A tasty pie in a very large size at a good price and arrives reasonably quickly. What more can you ask?
Big Papa’s is our go-​to pizza place. We love the 24-​inch pizza (though it is not always available) and we live only 2 miles away so delivery time is pretty good.
The wings are also pretty good but the massive pie is why I’m writing this review. It really has a wow factor and when it arrives it definitely is a conversation starter.

I usually don’t have a problem with these guys and ordering on line. But today I ordered my usual order of wings, fries and a can drink. They have it on the online ordering that I can add fries for $ 1.99. So I completed my order thinking I would get what I ordered because I had processed my order this way before and received what I wanted.
Well this time my order arrived with out the fries. So I called the restaurant. And instead of admitting to the mistake, they «assumed I didn’t want fries and to cook the wings crispy» … I believe if the option is there to add fries you should supply the fries. Also if there is confusion you should CALL THE CUSTOMER FOR CLARITY! So instead the guy on the phone assumed I didn’t want fries! NO CALL — No EXTRA charge! He also said that the cook asked him «what was this extra charge for fries…» He then gave me the excuse of the fries being more… Blah blah…
So needless to say I won’t be ordering from them ever again.
If they are reading this — correct your website ordering system and teach your staff how to handle confusing orders…

We have never had a bad pie from Bog Papa. Just ordered the XLARGE and they immediately called back and apologized for not having enough boxes, so they offered to replace that order with 2 of the Large pizzas at no charge. Not many places would make that offer. Loyal customer here!

We usually order from Papa John’s or Paisano’s, sometimes carry-​out from Little Caesar’s, but last night my family and I wanted to try somewhere new and this is one of the highest rated pizza places in Annandale according to Unilocal.We ordered an extra-​large (16″) pepperoni pizza with breadsticks for delivery around 6:30PM.
Our order arrived over an hour later, which seemed to be a while, but it was Friday night and the confirmation e-​mail did say to expect a 45 – 60 minute arrival time, so this was not a big deal.
Here’s where everything quickly goes downhill…
The pizza was borderline cold upon arrival and tasted like something you would get at a gas station or school cafeteria. The breadsticks were literally dry sticks of pizza crust — no garlic, parmesan, or any of the usual additions you would expect on them. They didn’t even come with marinara sauce, which I thought was pretty standard? I had also asked from a couple sizes of garlic dipping sauce, which was mentioned in one of the other reviews, but that was not included in the order either.
We ate the pizza, simply because we were hungry and had just spent nearly $ 25 on our order. The breadsticks went straight to the trash.
The food we received from this place was disgusting… Never again.

This place is poorly run and crappy. We placed an order for delivery and an hour later the driver hasn’t left. The driver called twice to tell us he was here. We looked out the door and he wasn’t there. He called again and said he was at our front door. No where to be seen. He went to the wrong address and then fought with us. When we called to complain they said they were short on drivers and they couldn’t be held responsible. We will never order from here again.

I bought a living social with a lot optimism from the Unilocal reviews. I feel very lied to. There was a review about beer battered fries?!? Delicious pizza??? Good gyros?!? Noooooo let me tell you my truth, be warned.
How about frozen crinkled fries just fried, not fresh. How about frozen Costco mozzarella sticks? How about a gyro «platter» that supposedly was supposed to have extra meat and fries. Umm it fit into a small sandwich styrofoam container.
The pizza, it’s the same rubbery cheese pizza crap that drunk people eat after a night of partying. Sure 24 inches is huge but really crappy ingredients. I’m not a jumbo slice kind of girl. I prefer a small pizza with fresh tomatoes, real cheese (not rubbery processed cheese) and premium toppings. Yuck!
Oh yeah and its take out/​delivery only at this location, no seating. I dont get the other reviews, maybe they got new owners? They changed the food? Or they got their friends to write fake reviews. Sorry big papa I just won’t be back.

What a hidden gem tucked on 236W and next to BonChon Chicken.
The variety of pizza is ridiculous and the toppings are endless… not to mention their «Big Papa» size pizza. However, they do more than pizzas: subs, gyros, sides, salads, wings… the works. This review is for their gyro and fries combo.
The gyro was delicious… the vegetables were very fresh and the meat tasted well-​done. The fries was what separated this combo from the pack. The beer-​battered fries tasted almost like twice fried, it was that addictive. Very good value for the dollar.
I’ll be back to try their pizzas later for sure!

Have to say when you move sometimes you feel there is a target on your back from local places putting flyers on, under, around, near your front door!
But when we got the flyer for Big Papa, we had a good laugh about The Real Housewives of Atlanta and then got down to ordering some food… and we’ve ordered twice. I try not to write a review for a carryout/​delivery type joint till i’ve gotten food from there at least 2x but I have to say the wings here are great?! The flavors are amazing and the subs aren’t bad either, not impressed overly with their pizza but everything else we’ve had has been good!
