I love firehouse subs! No matter what location I always get a great sandwich and good service. I went around 12:30 on a weekday to this location and it was pretty busy. I ordered the number 6 which is their club and it was really good! The sandwich was lacking a little on the mustard but what can you do. They brought out my sandwich relatively fast. They also have a great selection of chips to choose from. Plenty of seating as well. I highly suggest the club or Italian, those are my two favorite sandwiches by far. They have a whole hot sauce bar if you want to spice up your sandwich which is pretty cool too. I always know I’m getting some good quality sandwiches whenever I stop at this place thinly cut meats, great toppings, and good customer service!

If I could give a negative star I would. Called in an order for takeout to the office for a few people and when I got sandwiches to the office, one had nothing but a few pieces of lettuce. Order was a Turkey sandwich — they forgot the Turkey on the Turkey sandwich! Called and they offered a refund or a free sandwich in the future. I took the refund. Unfortunately this is not the first time something like this has happened and when you go for your free sandwich because of a previously mistake there is no record of it. I have given this place more chances than I should have because we need more options to eat in Annandale but I am done. All order for our sports teams, office events will be done elsewhere. They have been there long enough to know how to do this.

Don’t believe what April L. says. She was a former employee there. She recently was fired for talking crap to a customer to their face. But anyways it was the best Firehouse Subs that I have been to. The sub was hot and tasty. The other employees were very nice and helpful as I was dining in. It was the best experience that I had at any Firehouse Subs. Thanks guys!

Great Subs, No Question, Hands Down! Hook & Ladder, The Best! Only uncomfortable issue is pressure to contribute to Fire Fighters Fund @ check out. And the ONE&ONLYPERSON, who is usually working there, is very slow. Probably because he is the One and Only Person there?! I annually donate to all my surrounding First Responders & Fire Departments(10% of my income). For me, it’s the right thing to do. But the pressure @ check out to donate @ Firehouse Subs, could be handled with a different approach. Perhaps, have printed envelopes for contributions? That would eliminate, the questionable, guilting, shady side of pressure on customers @ checkout to contribute. Not Cool! I suspect from the buzz in the neighborhood, most customers don’t return due to slow service; i.e.: one employee & pressure to contribute. Just an FYI to Annandale, VA Firehouse Subs, FireFighter Owner…

I wasn’t sure what to expect from this place as i’ve never heard of this restaurant before. I walked in here randomly as i was nearby and they had a decent crowd in there. The décor looks nice and interesting, firefighter painting and firefighter’s suits and helmets on the wall hence the name Firehouse Subs. As a former firefighter, i have great respect for them. I stared at the menu for a few minutes and noticed there were zero veggie subs listed and not even a custom option. I asked the cashier if they had any veggie subs and he pointed me to a small sign on the counter with the list of ingredients for a veggie sub, tucked away and hidden. Considering that was the only choice, i went with that. They had a option of 8 inch and a 12 inch sandwich, i went with the 8 inch as i wasn’t sure how good it was going to be, what a mistake! I should gone for the 12 inch! It was soooo goood! The sandwich was delicious and oozing with flavors! I paid and they gave me a table number and i had a seat, about 10 minutes later my sandwich arrived with a side of pickle. Maybe i was just hungry or that sandwich was so good that i ate it in 3 bites and was left wanting more! I might not be back considering there is only one veggie option, which i’ve already tried. If I’m in the area, i may stop by.

By far the best sub shop I have ever been to! Crazy amounts of hot sauces to choose from(choose Bike Week 2014) and fast service. Don’t forget to donate up on your dollar for first responders!

The sandwiches here are phenomenal. Sure they cost more then Potbelly and Subway, but I would pay the extra $ 1.89(I think a sandwich is around $ 6.89) any day! My Smokehouse Beef and Cheddar brisket was piled high and did not need any extra condiments, but added the cherry peppers and some«Alligator» style hot sauce. The meat was so tender. They actually have beef brisket that they use to make the sandwich, not weird, creepy, looking meat. I like their hot sauce bar. The numbers rate the hotness level. The«Alligator» sauce I had was a six-tangy and zesty, but not too hot. BP had the Engineer and we both loved it. I loved it a little too much since I wanted to eat more of it then offered :) Also, Firehouse has those cool soda machines with like 120 different soda combinations. Their Firehouse Cherry Lime-ade is worth the a shot! Also, Fully Involved means the sub has mayo, deli mustard, lettuce, tomato, onion, and a kosher dill pickle(on the side).

Sorry guys… I REALLY loved this place and even attempted to get them business from local schools which their corporate office totally screwed up… lately, you can’t get a sandwich made correctly or the meat doesn’t last til the end of the sandwich bread… I called in my order and the dude even joked about how we like our sandwich the exact same… And it was STILL wrong when we picked it up…

The prices are about on par with what’s become the inflated cost of living in D.C. about $ 9 for a sandwhich, fries and drink. The food APPEARS to be good and I only had the Siracha sandwhich and chili, neither of which knocked me off my feet. But do NOT order their chili. It is substandard or mediocre at best. The Siracha is okay, not terrible, not good. It takes a little longer than other sub places to bring the order but I wouldn’t count that against them IF you like the food. It’s a nice décor and there’s plenty of seating. It’s in a plaza, so there’s plenty of parking and the sign is large and bright, so you can’t miss it.

Sandwiches are good and hot, I always get #7 or 8, the average lunch will run you about $ 9.60. They also have that cool fountain machine with all the flavors. :)

Thought id try it since i read the review on here… Oversized potions??? Ordered the medium sandwich and looked more like a hot dog wrapped in foil, they use skinny bread and put the same amount of meat as all other sandwich chains and charge u twice as much, i was very disappointed…

The sandwiches but this location makes a mockery of the«fast food» tag. Don’t come hungry — I’ve never gotten out with less than a 20 minute wait, even when I ordered ahead online. The staff behind the counter is in utter chaos with no apparent leadership. Hire a manager or two and this could easily be a 5-star.

Hero sub is delicious with jalapeño chips and it’s nice that it is located right next to a Starbucks.

I remember my husband frequenting this place when he was in school — I guess it was an alternative to Subway and other sub places. I loved the décor, with the dalmatian-spotted tables and the firemen outfits hanging all around. We ordered their Steak & Cheese hot sub from their ‘Hot Specialty Subs’ section with a side of Firehouse Chili. The sub itself was pretty okay, good with the hot pickled peppers. The chili was my favorite as it was nice and hot, hearty with the chunks of beef and beans, with not too much tomato. Delicious! A solid place to eat some hot or cold subs and friendly service. They also have Miss Vickie’s potato chips available. +Steak & Cheese hot sub +chili +Miss Vickie’s chips available +friendly staff

Every time I come here, I leave satisfied. I love the friendly staff and delicious food. I always get the hook and ladder with wheat bread and it’s delicious! I also very much enjoy the painting on the wall of TJ! I just graduated about two years ago and I wish this place was open when I was at school so I could come after school to eat here! It’s nice to see they’ve localized the place.

I as a hot sauce and chili fanatic, I LOVE their selection of hot sauces! For those who truly love the heat I think their rating scale might be a little off. I tried a habanero sauce they had listed as a 6(out of 10) that I would have rated as a 4. The sandwich that I tried(#8 — The Engineer) was excellent. The bread was fresh and soft and you could really taste the quality in all of the rest of the ingredients. Their Coke machine was pretty cool too. They have one of those full touch screen machines where you can choose between a bunch of different Coca Cola products and add flavors to your drink. The staff was also very friendly, even during the busy lunch rush. I saw that they were giving away fireman hats to the kids. Not going to lie… I wanted one too! No locations in LA? Seriously considering franchise opportunities! They also cater lunches to nearby offices.

This review is specifically for the Annandale, VA location: The staff is SUPER! They were all so nice and greeted me when I came in for the first time ever and explained how everything works with ordering and gave suggestions and made sure I was happy the entire time I was there even until I was waling out they all made sure to say goodbye and to tell me thank you for coming in and for me to have a wonderful day. They take pride in what they do and it makes me want to come back to this location just because they are super. The subs are tasty and their staff made my first experience A+.
