Pizza Boli’s

I don’t know if they changed their sauce recently or what but the Pizza Boli pizza in 2016 tastes nothing like the pizza from 2010 so I have had to switch my takeout pizza allegiance to Paesanos or Flippin Pizza. It costs more to go elsewhere but I refuse to consume a large amount of calories in bad pizza. Just not worth it in my opinion.

Pizza is pretty ok. However, just plan on your delivery taking an hour… or more! Also, just because you ask for red pepper or parmesan cheese in no way means you will get it. I have had the marinara for cheese sticks not be included several times.

Ordering on the phone took about 30 minutes, and seeing a Chicken Parmesan and mozzarella sticks on the menu got me a bit excited for the food to come. The food was not what I expected from a «Italian restaurant». The mozzarella sticks where fat and had little texture, the chicken parmesan had too much sauce and pasta and little chicken. Also the chicken tasted like Tyson chicken or something. It wasn’t home cooked chicken, plus the breading on it was too much. I’m not going to waste my time and money on this place again.

Good stuff! My pizza was very tasty, and it arrived way quicker than expected. As a New Yorker I do love pizza. And I’m still on the hunt for the perfect pizza place around here. This may not be it but it’s certainly worth a try.

The food is decent but don’t ever order at a busy time like a Saturday during college football season or a Sunday during NFL season. Your food will take about 1.5−2 hours to get there.

Everything was pretty good, except my Gyro was completely dry. There was no sauce on it? That was pretty weird, if you’ve ever had a Gyro without the sauce, it’s not good, but the pizza wasn’t bad.

Just moved to Alexandria so I didn’t really know where to order from but I did have a $ 10 off grubhub code so I decided to give this place a try. Although the delivery was faster than I expected (30mins) the pizza dough was soggy and tasted like homemade pizza… in a bad way.
It didn’t have that crunch that you would expect when ordering pizza from outside.
I also ordered a chocolate cake and guys when I say this I mean it. IT WAS THE WORST CHOCOLATE CAKE I’ve ever had. EVER. it was dry as cardboard and tasted like boxmix. there was granulated sugar all over it. I was also a sheet cake not a layer cake. for $ 4 you would at least expect a layer cake.
I WON’T be ordering from this place ever again and I would not recommend it to anyone! Try at your own risk.

30 minutes late from fry hub and 15 minutes later than when I called and they quoted me a new time. Overall 2 hours for a small pepperoni pizza. They were also rude on the phone and wouldn’t let me cancel my order. Not worth it.

Ordered chicken Parmesan with spaghetti, I got spaghetti with sauce and chopped (processed) chicken patties. Not worth the money

The pizza was undercooked and the «boneless buffalo wings» are not buffalo wings at all but rather chunks of cooked albeit not breaded and not seasoned chicken with a cup of buffalo sauce on the side. The Greek salad was missing some ingredients including feta and the prices were pretty high considering the overall quality of the food. Very disappointed and will NOT be ordering from here again.

We love this Pizza Boli’s! Try the pizza with spinach and feta.

I ordered and they were nice enough to cancel my orders because they were online. When the delivery driver finally showed up he did not have change. Because my 1 large pizza was 31 dollars and all I had was 100. Let’s think about this whole situation. My online orders paid with credit card were «cancelled» but the charges were still on my account. Then when they show up, they cannot make change. I believe this location is under new management because I had previously had very good experiences with them. I highly encourge people to steer clear of this obviously shady business.

I had a salad and BBQ boneless wings delivered. Delivery itself was quick, but the food was pretty mediocre. I got chunks of what it appeared to be grilled chicken breast with BBQ sous drizzled on top. What happen to a little breading and actually simmering meat in the sous!!!

This place is a total DISASTER. First of all, the first time I ordered pizza from this place at least there was a nice lady who answered the phone. She told me the pizza would be delivered in 45 minutes. After an hour I called back and she said the driver just left the store. So after 1.5 hours I get a cold pizza — but to be fair, it wasn’t the worst pizza I ever had.
Being the sucker for punishment that I am, I got a coupon in the mail a few months later (and it listed this SPECIFIC location!!!) so I thought to myself, maybe they were just having a bad day. So I gave them another shot. Big Mistake. I call and order one of the specials from the coupon and this rude man on the phone with a thick (middle eastern?) accent tells me that HE does not accept this coupon. I’m taken a little aback by how rude he is and I ask to speak to the manager and that’s when he tells me he is the manager. At that point I told him he needed to learn some customer service skills and that I would not only never order from there again but I would also tell my friends and Unilocal to not order from them too.
It worked out great because I’ve been meaning to review several places positively and negatively (just this place) for a few months now but never had the motivation.
UPDATE ON 01/​19/​2014: I think it only fair that I update my review by sharing with you that two members of Pizza Boli’s corporate team reached out to me to not only hear my concerns but also to try and make things right. Without going into details, I truly believe that they were sincere in their approach and clearly, they believe in their business. For these reasons I am going to give Pizza Bolis another try and see what happens. I will update this rating at that time.

I ordered online, and my cheese steak sandwich came burnt. When i called for a refund i was hung up on, and then when i called back they tried to cheat me. Im waiting to see if my refund actually shows u p on my cc statement

Ordering online was great and delivery was quick. Food is subpar.
I ordered mozzarella sticks and chicken wings. This sounds weird but they look eerily similar. They’re ok tasting. The mozzarella aren’t crispy on the outside and I’m pretty sure the boneless wings are just breaded chicken chunks.

Ordered through grubhub, told my food should show up no later than 8:45pm.
9:15 rolls around, no sign of the food or a phonecall to let me know, so I call. Told that the driver is already out, and my food should be there within 3 minutes.
9:45 still no show.
Call again, and I’m told that the driver is just leaving to deliver, and the food should be there within ten minutes.
I pre-​paid and pre-​tipped, because everywhere I’ve ordered from in this part of the world so far has given me no reason to not do so.
Looks like I’ll be reconsidering that.
When an order is running late, okay, fine. This happens. When an order is an HOUR late and the customer has been the one initiating contact after a reasonable amount of time, that is not acceptable.

Pretty decent for delivery in the area.
Delivery was pretty fast.
Quality was above most national chains (Dominos, PJs, Pizza Hut, etc)
Crust was tasty, cheese and toppings were plentiful, but not overdone. Sauce was good, too.
I’d recommend this place for sure.

This Store Rock! They have the best Pizza I ever had. I called Yesterday 20 minute before they close. I don’t care about what other said but customer service was awesome! I had combination of Pepperoni Black Olives and Onion the best just looking amazing I almost bit my finger off. Love it

Do not order online! The prices are higher. For a Lg. 2-​topping pizza, my online order came to roughly $ 15. It routes you through
which I guess is a third party online ordering service for pizza places all around the nation.
When I went to pick up my order, they had a scrolling sign marquee saying «Large 2-​topping pizza: $ 9.99.» I went inside and said «wow I wish I’d have known… I got the same pizza but paid an extra $ 5 for it…» the guys working the counter said «oh, yeah. Well we go through an online ordering vendor and they get commission so they don’t list specials. Always call us to order in the future.»
I can’t help but feel a little ripped off, but oh well I know for next time.

The normal review:
Pizza Boli’s is a nice change from Papa Johns or Dominos. The cheese is a nice thick layer. It’s a little greasier, but they are far more generous with toppings than either of the aforementioned chains. Also I believe the cheese tastes better. And, the crust is a garlic crust which is leaps and bounds above the sad cardboard you get at Papa John’s.
It’s not gourmet but it’s worth adding to your rotation. I probably slightly prefer it to the other two places in terms of overall taste. But if you can get to a place like Monterey or Bugsy’s, Boli’s won’t fare very well in comparison.
