I was also there when the exchange happened, unless this has happened more than once but it was just the people that worked their and their kids, me, the other family that got into the argument, I’m assuming you were actually with them? I don’t think the person you got in an argument was the owner, but even if it was, the whole situation went down a lot differently… he just told you or your brother? that was with you if you had paid for one buffet because all 5 of you were eating. Your family responded by arguing that you were all sharing one plate and then threw food at him. I think anyone would get angry like that. I’ve eaten there 4 times so far, I’ve never had a problem with the guy you guys fought with. I’ve enjoyed their food every time I’ve gone, specifically the boneless chicken kabobs and lamb chops. I like the fresh bread and chick peas as well.

I keep coming back! This place is awesome. Food is always tender and juicy! My mouth is watering as I write this review. Sadly, I have moved out of the area, but I will hike the added distance to get my kabob fix. The meat is always tender, the spinach and potatoes always flavorful, and they always ensure that my bread is cooked the way I request it, which is soft and fluffy. I joke with the owner that I will have them cater my wedding… whenever that may be :). I don’t think many people notice this, but there is a ballroom/party room in the back of the restaurant, so you can totally host a special event or wedding. This restaurant truly is a hidden gem. And no I am not being paid or bribed to write this review. The prices are great and they have an awesome buffet and when businesses are doing something right they deserved to be recognized for it. I enjoy the food here and have yet to find a better place!

If you are really looking for good tasty food stay away from this place. They microwave meat for long time and then grilled .the buffet not worth the money.

Fraud practice — Menu displays beef bihari kebab, marinated overnight, that’s what it should be. Drove 45min to try it. They served a normal beef kebab briefly marinated, blunt flavor, hard and dry. Took off my list permanently. Also, ordered menu special $ 7.99 lunch/dinner for my vegetarian daughter. Initially, told 2 items plus naan, but served just one vegetable plus naan which I found later in menu will cost much less if ordered separately. I found a pattern of immoral practices in 3 Pakistani restaurants in 2 weeks. Time to think k about it!

I went last night with two other people to try something new. The cashier was very patient, as we didn’t understand the buffet deal and options. He pointed us to the photos, which don’t face the customer who is ordering. I though $ 16.99 for one kaebab and all you can eat buffet was overpriced. The naan is wonderful and you can eat as much as you want. Buffet w. o kebab is not worth it. I thought the samosas(on the buffet area) were included and was told«no» just when I was about to reach for one. Décor is very nice, ambiance is relaxing. Great location and parking is always easy. The food is good, but I won’t go back only because I believe I can get equally good food elsewhere(Moby Dick) at a better price.

A couple weeks back I was stuck in traffic on the way home after a long day and pulled off because I was getting hungry. Here just off 395 in a small shopping strip sits this little place with neon lights. I had the dinner buffet and for the price, I was impressed with the variety of meats, chicken, lamb, and vegetables, spinach, cauliflower, lentils, etc. The food was fresh and flavorful. Only suggestion I would have is maybe real plates and utensils to eat off of instead of plastic.

I call myself a food critic since I cook food myself so I can say that I know how food should be. Well being to many restaurants the food here was an average food. The service was awful. Me and my group was eating buffet so the experience was ridiculous. This is the only buffet resturant which was controlled by the owner/manager/waiter/cashier all in one. Plates were given by counting, chutney you had to beg for, sodas were not refill, you had to pay, one dish of sweet, no grill chicken(usually you get with buffet). Over all 3rd rated restaurant.

Food is good. Buffett with kebabs is 15.99 on weekend. Regular Buffett is 12.99 without kebabs. Selection of food is pretty decent. Odd is the way Buffett is served. You will pay first then owner will hand u paper plate which you have to use it every time. Bread is fresh but you have to go and ask for it every time. Nihari beef was tough to chew. Drinks included in Buffett. Recommend to owner change set up of Buffett.

First off the owner is a douchebag. Just in the way he composes himself and speaks to the clients you can tell he has no manners. Tonight we came to try something new and ended up witnessing a confrontation between the owner and a customer. The owner accusing the customer of sharing plates for the buffet and asking to see a receipt before a to-go box would be issued. The boys mother overheard the exchange and became enraged. First yelling in English then switching to their language. Regardless of whether she was right or not the owner began using profanity, calling the customer a bitch repeatedly. There were small children in the room and that is plain disrespectful. As a business man I expect a little more professionalism. The food it’s self was shit to be frank. Their spinach tasted gross and the best part of my meal was the bread that comes with the meal. If it wasn’t because I had already paid for the meal and was really hungry I would have asked for my money back. I can say, I will NOT be returning to this establishment.

First things first: if you read any petty, childish, and vindictive one star reviews about awful food, service, hygiene, or nonsense about the health department, fraud, etc etc — that has got to be the work of dishonorable competitors or personal enemies, and you should ignore them with a disdainful sneer. I am just a normal guy who has lived here for 42 years, and today was my first visit, not knowing what to expect from such wildly varying reviews. The place is clean and modern. The man behind the buffet/cash register was polite, friendly and helpful. I ordered the buffet, and I think it was all you can eat because the guy stammered out that I could come back for more«ten times» which I took as a figure of speech meaning, «dude, have at it as long as you’re not Homer Simpson.» It was Saturday and my first helping was rice(very fragrant and fluffy with some mild hint of spice), chick peas, haleem, and naan(still puffy and hot with a crisp bottom) and a little container of yogurt sauce. My second helping was spinach, butter chicken, currried vegetables and more chickpeas. I loved all of it and finished everything. I noticed men from the kitchen coming out to keep the buffet clean, organized and full. Everything was fresh and hot. I used the men’s toilet and found it to be clean and modern as well. They have lights that constantly change color in there which was cool at first but then became disorienting as I tried to maintain my balance and aim while peeing. Also I couldn’t help but notice in the large mirror covering the entire wall behind the sink and toilet that my face looks awful under certain colors. Overall I loved the food and had a great visit. I will certainly go back again.

Great food decent service great staff Good place for a quick buffet meal(indain/pakistani) cuisine. The vegetable dishes and chicken curry and especially the pakistani dessert are very tasty. Again staff is friendly and the place is relatively clean.

Food is pretty good and the manager is friendly and accommodating. Parking is readily available. Not good on the bang for your buck scale though. I’ll take Kabob Palace in Crystal City any day, but may hit this place in a pinch because of its location to my house and plenty of parking. If they had a lunchtime buffet, I would definitely go here more frequently.

Ill start off by saying the owner looks like humpty dumpty so if you see a short very round sloth slugging along avoid at all costs!!! We used his room on the side for a wedding and it was the worst mistake we made from every corner. 1) The a/c wasnt turned on and everytime we addressed our concern he said he turned it on and it takes time to kick in and cool down. Everyone was sweating throughout the night. 2) When our guests nicely asked him a question he yelled at them back with profanity! That was very rude and extremely embarassing. 3) The food was awful and I figured out his tricks and am going to expose him right here so you dont have the same experience. HEIS A CROOKANDCHEAT. The chapli kabobs came out practically raw. All My guests were telling him to cook them more. He did that so no one would eat them and he could reuse them in his restuarant the next day even tho we paid for them. He has some led lights that change colors from red to blue to green and he keeps his restaurant dark and places the food there so you really cant tell if it is cooked or not. FINALLY He brought out the dessert/rus malai once half of the guests were gone. Towards the end so again he could save more $$$ for himself. IFYOUWANTTOGETRIPPED OFF, YELLEDAT, CHEATEDANDEMBARRASSEDINFRONTOFYOURGUESTSAND family This is your place!

Living in Annandale, this is the best Kabob place within fifteen minutes. The only places I consider better would be Ravi and Kabob Palace. Awesome bread. Awesome chick peas. Nuff said. Just make sure you put Alexandria into your GPS. The one in DC is selling something else.

First we do miss Duke Kabob that was here previously for years. We frequented it almost weekly. Royal Kabob is the new tenant and did a great job renovating the restaurant. Inside is very clean and plenty of seating. We tried the Chicken and Lamb kabobs and they were excellent! We will be back to try more items on menu soon. First impression will make us regulars.

3.5÷5 stars First, I have to say that the service here is really something else. I feel like the employees go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Will C. and I received complimentary(and delicious) vegetable soup before our meal was served. I really appreciated that gesture… they must have known that we were both starving! At the recommendation of the wonderful Hannah H., we ordered their Chicken Karahi(enough for 2 people). This dish is made to order, so be prepared to wait. Will C. and I waited roughly 35 – 40 minutes on a pretty slow Friday night. The Chicken Karahi comes with your choice of rice or bread plus a salad. Though I wanted to try their bread(it looked so good), Will C. is a rice lover through and through, so I decided to be a nice girlfriend and let him have his choice: p The sauce that the Chicken Karahi is cooked in tastes quite good — it was very thick and just a hint spicy. The flavor of this dish is very complex and I’m finding it difficult to describe; I would say that the dish was tangy, spicy, and savory all at the same time. My only issue is that the chicken(both the bone-in and boneless) was on the drier side. Nonetheless, I enjoyed the dish overall, but I’m definitely going to have to sample more Chicken Karahi at other restaurants for a more decisive opinion. I’ll definitely have to come back to try more items on the menu, which shouldn’t be too far out in the future for a kabob addict like myself. Their sides looked very appetizing(chick peas, zomgggg).

Now to preface I have never had Chicken Karahi before but after numerous suggestions from fellow Unilocal Elite Hannah H my gf and I decided to try this place out. This restaurant used to be a different Kabob place and has recently changed to Royal Palace Kabob. Since it is still new the ambiance of the restaurant is very cleaned and organized. Arriving around 6 P.M. on a Friday evening we waited approximately 35 minutes for our Chicken Karahi to come out(Made fresh when ordered). The Chicken Karahi comes with either bread or rice, a plate of salad and your spice level(we chose medium). It was not spicy at all probably should have went with spicy. My gf and I went with the rice option. The restaurant was relatively empty with a couple of tables occupied. One of the workers gave my gf and I 2 free cups of vegetable soup which I have to say was delicious. When the food was ready I went up to the front to pick it up. It comes out in a steaming hot pot. Now as far as the food goes I have never had Chicken karahi before so I am not the best person to judge it. The chicken was dry and I felt like it tasted plain(unless it is suppose to be like this). The sauce they cooked the chicken in was good and required a good drenching on your rice/bread for the taste of chicken to come out. One plus is they give you a lot of chicken and it is definitely enough to feed two people. So as far as this place goes, I want to come back and try their Kabob’s as I saw many people eating that when I was there. The verdict is still out for the Chicken Karahi, I want to try it at other places to see how it compares. I know Kabob Palace also has that dish so once I try it out there I will have a better idea to how it is suppose to taste like. I will be back to update my review once that happens.

Royal Palace Kabob offers chicken/lamb/beef/seafood kabobs, as well as curries and other rice specialties. However, I usually stick with their Chicken Karahi, as this dish is great to share among 2 people, and we always leave stuffed! The dish itself comes in an iron pot, where the chunks of boneless and bone-in chicken comes sizzling in the slightly-thick flavorful, tomato-based sauce — sometimes, it can be very thick and savory, with the subtle hint of ginger, and other times, it can be way too tomato-esque and sweeter; I just wish there was some consistency! You can control the spiciness level, so keep that in mind. This comes with freshly-baked bread that is perfectly prepared, soft, and large enough to dip with and/or nestle your chicken meat. The dish itself takes about 25 – 30 minutes to prepare, but it is so worth it! I love the manager and the staff here(Chef Azam), as they always treat us like family and make sure that our dining experience is always perfect and wonderful. They recently added an all-day lunch and dinner buffet, including the weekends. I highly suggest in going during the lunchtime, as the food is more fresh, and the pakora/samosas are crispier. +Chicken Karahi(customize your spiciness level) +freshly-baked bread +ask for Chef Azam +AYCE lunch and dinner buffets, including weekends(go for lunch only!) +awesome and friendly manager & staff: D
