Edgardo’s owns Don Albertos Pizzeria. Don Alberto’s is run out of the back of Edgardo’s, but they two different companies. They also use the same drivers for delivery service. I’ve had alot of NY style pizza and it doesn’t come close, but I didn’t expect it to. Just like when restaurants advertise Philly cheesesteaks in VA. When you ask them for sauce, they act like they have no idea what your talking about. In addition, lettuce, tomatoe, and mayo are not standard Philly cheesesteak toppings. I think the pizza is good compared to what is available in the area for delivery. I order from Edgardo’s alot and always get the cajun chicken pasta with italian sausage. I give them a 4 out of 5 stars because they are slow to deliver.

Let me start off this review by saying, I’m from Jersey and my family went to NYC almost every weekend. So, yes, I know what NY Pizza taste like. Now on to the review… «Don Alberto’s» is actually«Edgardos» located @ 281 South Van Dorn St. How do I know this you ask??? Easy, I paid for my extra large pizza with a credit card and that name is on the top of the receipt! Ok, I ordered a plain extra large pizza($ 14.98) for delivery… First: it arrived cold and I only live about 11\2 miles down the road! Second: there was so much grease that the bottom of the box was SOAKED! See attached photo. Third: the dough was not fully cooked See attached photo Fourth: salt, salt, salt, the crappy cheese was so salty that we didn’t even finish our slices! My 11 year old daughter actually spit it out onto her plate! Can you believe that, a child spitting out pizza! This is inconceivable! But TRUE! I’d rather eat my own toe jam. This pizza is Unbelievably disgusting! This pizza is so nasty that I can’t find the words to describe how putrid it is! According to their flyer, that was attached to my door, «Our Pizzas taste the way they do at the great pizza parlors of New York» HA!!! I think not! Domino’s pizza is 1000 times better and I don’t like their pizza either. If dining on a salt lick soaked in cheese grease sounds like the meal you’d request as your death row final meal before they pump you full of electricity, than rush to the phone and order from here! If I could, I wouldn’t give them any stars! I’d like to close by saying that I’ve eaten at Edgardos on two occasions, pasta dinners both times, and they were both just as disgusting!

I got a mini flyer for this place in the mail. The one thing that stood out to me was that it said: «Our Pizzas taste the way they do at the great pizza parlors of New York!» That’s a pretty ballsy thing to say. I’ve been looking around this area for a long time for some decent pizza. Many places say«just like NYC pizza» or something else less confident than this place’s grandiose statement. Once I saw their statement I knew I had to try it and I knew if it wasn’t NY style pizza I would be moderately furious. I finally tried some tonight and unfortunately, they are full of it. The pizza is mediocre at best and is absolutely nothing like New York pizza. I might have liked it better if they didn’t butter me up with false promises, which ultimately led me to have a disappointing evening. The pizza was soft and almost soggy. Where’s the NY crunch?!! Is it that hard to do? I wonder if these places even know what NY style pizza tastes like or they just think it sounds cool and as long as you put sauce and cheese on dough then it’s the same. It isn’t. Shame on you Don for lying just to get customers. I would have probably tried you anyway.
