I ordered milk tea bubble. I slurped and chewed it. it tastes kinda watery… wait a minute? *gasps* it’s a scour from washing the blender with a sponge. I showed it to the cashier to see a bit scour. She gasped and apologized to me. She asked me if I want get new one. I said,“no thanks.” She should NEVER wash the blender with a scour sponge. Yikes. I would never come back to order any bubble tea again. It’s too WATERY with a bit flavor.

How I heard of this place: Upon stuffing ourselves silly at OeGadGib, somehow we were still in the mood to partake of more, and found our way across the street to Café Le Matin de Paris, at the suggestion of our dining companions. Type of cuisine: «Welcome to Le Matin de Paris — your friendly neighborhood Korean bakery and café with a French inspired twist. Open for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late night, our quaint and cozy café is filled with tasteful décor for your eyes and even tastier temptations for your palate. Le Matin de Paris pastry chefs have been delighting customers in the greater Annandale area for more than 10 years. Our Korean and French inspired menu includes a unique variety of sweet and savory baked goods, cakes, pastries, soups, sandwiches, salads and more. Every item is authentically prepared and artfully presented, much to the pleasure of our patrons. Since 2000, Le Matin de Paris has been „WOWing“ our patrons in Annadale, VA. Our authentically prepared, high quality, always freshly baked goods, sandwiches, pastries, desserts, and cakes are phenomenal in both taste and visual appeal. Our desserts have been enjoyed around the world — literally, as we were once a featured item on ANA Airlines in-flight menu.» Ambiance: «Our casual, yet comfortable atmosphere is a perfect place to get together, whether it’s for a family dinner out, cappuccino and dessert with friends, or a nervous first date. Our gracious staff will immediately put you at ease and in the perfect frame of mind for edible fun and adventure! Come join us. Our café is warm and inviting — the perfect refuge on a cold day you need to wrap your hands around a steaming cup of cappuccino and linger over a decadent dessert to warm your soul. Whatever whets your appetite or awakens your epicurean curiosity; you are sure to find it here. Be sure to visit our relaxing outdoor patio in nice weather.» What I ordered: In our party of seven, we had one cup of black, brewed coffee, one solo espresso and two orders of ice cream: vanilla, and coffee & vanilla($ 4.99 for any — available — two flavors). What I loved: The coffee ice cream. Too bad it was already too late to truly enjoy the caffeinated taste-bud adventure! Why I loved it: The space is quiet and cozy, a simple and slightly amusing take on a French Bakery… Korean style. Not to mention, the free samples of freshly baked pastries! Yum! Cost: Average($ 3 — $ 5 per individual sized treat)

Their sesame ball is the best. Great environment, awesome bakery. However, I think they are closed for business now ;( You will be missed for sure!

i absolutely love the food at this restaurant. I recently moved to the area and have already eaten here twice within the 1st week of me living here. I had been craving for a burrito and ordered that from the menu. It was so big that I was able to save ½ of it for the following day– huge large chunks of chicken in every bite– simply delicious. Their food is a little pricey– $ 9 for a burrito, but eating here once a week can definitely fit into my budget especially with it being within walking distance of where I live. «Would I recommend? Absolutely!» If you’re looking for some authentic Mexican food, you definitely need to try Le Matin De Paris.

Sadly, I’m afraid they might have closed down for good as of 10÷24÷14.

I have been to Paris and this is nothing like a Paris café. Except, the unfriendly lady behind the counter? Sure, the décor is cute, but the food is not french. So, now I get the Korean inspired part, but still don’t get the French part… hmm. the pastries were okay, nothing more special than the Korean bakery across the way. A bit more pricey though. No thanks, not for me. Maybe a good place to hang out with a friend to chat on a bad weather day, but that’s about it.

This place is Shilla for quiet people. I’ve always liked Shilla for their food offerings, not so much their ambiance and not so much for the hoards of loud people they attract. When we came here(Saturday evening), it was quiet, very well kept and clean and just seemed like a much nicer place to chill and hang out. The owners/staff were very polite and nice and that definitely won us over. The seating in here is very lovely and we noticed it trends towards older folks. I really think we’ll be coming here more often than Shilla, just based off how relaxing it is in here. I mentioned earlier that it was quiet, but the thing is the place wasn’t even empty. It actually had quite a few handful of people! All the more reason for me to continue coming to this place. And those of you looking to come here, don’t mess it up and be a loud hooligan!

I’ve been coming here the last few Sundays now for a Korean studies meetup group. Great place for a meetup BTW since it’s not crazy like other places. You can actually have a conversation without losing your voice or simply pretend to hear what the other person is hearing. That said, this is more of a café, than a bakery. So if you are expecting a Shilla or Breeze, you may be disappointed. Some of the pastries here are good but selection isn’t very big. They don’t offer as many samples either which is strange because that’s one way to keep your inventory fresh… by sampling out the products that need to be taken off the shelf. Their drink selection could be a little better and cheaper but I guess not too bad if you consider the fact that this is a place you can spend time at and relax. This almost reminds me of businesses in Korea that you can rent rooms or tables for meetings or study groups. You have a waitress that brings your drink and snack orders. There is usually a table minimum order and maximum time limit. It’s a neat innovative concept that works well in Korea since space is so limited there. Probably wouldn’t work here since there are so many options. Kind of reminded me of that.

Atmosphere: good to hangout/chill with friends, not noisy atmosphere(at least in the Saturday 9:00 am when I was there), probably good for intimate date. Service: Servers are friendly, but they will call you when your food is ready. Food: Lots of variety of good bakeries and sweets, they’re willing to make up your own order out of the menu as well. I enjoy the red/black/bean stuffed doughnuts, the pizza and their tea late’. I don’t know how the average of this place $ turned out to be $$ but I assure it is $ and reasonable. Maybe compared to the Breeze Bakery Café, yes this place is more expensive. Will always come again.

Le Matin de Paris is a Korean pastry shop. If you go towards the back by the bathrooms, they have ‘pastries on sale’ for 99c and such. I’ve had their special ‘Paris’-style pot bing soo, which came with fruit cocktail, shaved ice, red bean, frozen banana slices, diced strawberries, and big slices of dduk. I would have proffered mochi instead of dduk, but it was interesting that they use this instead. There was also condensed milk poured over the bing soo with a big swirl of soft serve vanilla ice cream and a fudge drizzle. The overall pot bing soo tasted a little sour/tart for my taste. There are seatings by the window, so it’s very quaint. There were a handful of customers. It is perfect after a meal to stop by for some sweets, and go on your merry way. +99c pastry sale

I used to love this place but it seems like management has changed or they got a new baker? The customer service is really kind here and their cream puffs are still amazing, you can find them with the drinks in the cooler. I also love the bing soo too. The problem are the cakes. I bought three LARGE cakes from here on 12/27/2013. I loved their cakes. A large cake from here cost about $ 30.00 and above so it’s not cheap for three! The Chocolate one was dry, like very dry, The Tiaramisu tasted like it was drenched in Cognac or Rum, and the Vanilla was dry and tasted like… bag eggs? In short, i’ll be back for the cream puffs and bing soo, but not the cakes.

This place is okay. Just really stopped to use the bathroom… Bf bought us a couple of pastries. I got the hazelnut cream pastry. It’s covered in hazelnut on the outside and hazelnut cream inside. Surprisingly it was good but kinda had that stale bread taste since we did get this at the end of the night. Didn’t have a fresh taste at all… Quint bakery with a Parisian theme(obvi since it has«French bakery» in its name). However I would rather prefer shilla or breeze bakery. Lots of older Koreans here vs. the other bakeries.

Don’t let the name deceive you, this place is not a French café! Rather than a French café or bakery, this place is one of the many Korean bakeries located in Annandale. This place is kind of like Shilla or Breeze, but it has it’s own unique ambiance, being that of a French café theme. Aside from the French café theme, the other things that separate this place from Shilla or Breeze are the prices and customer service. I’ve typically found myself paying roughly a little over $ 5.50(with tax) for a boba, but this place charges $ 5.99(without tax) for the same size as the other bakeries. Plus, they seem to run out of tapioca. My friend that took me here said this was the second time he went where they ran out of tapioca. Strike one: the price of boba(and the fact they didn’t have any when I was there). As I was browsing through the baked goods, I didn’t find anything that really appealed to me. I did, however, stumble upon a tasty looking treat called«gusu.» Now, I’m allergic to peanuts so I always have to double check the ingredients just to make sure these tasty looking products are peanut-free, so I took the gusu to the counter to check with the cashier. She didn’t know, and went to go ask her manager. That’s fine, she’s a cashier. Now the manager didn’t know either, so they had to call the owner, or someone else who could answer my question. After nearly 10 minutes of waiting, I finally got my answer: yes they have peanuts. Alright, so now I know. I wish they had an ingredient sign with their products like Shilla so I wouldn’t have wasted about 10 minutes of my life. Strike two: lack of employee knowledge regarding the products they sell. Sad that I wasn’t able to get the gusu, I decided to just get a hot drink(since there were no more tapioca for boba). I decided since it was night, and I didn’t want to be up late, that I’d get a hot milk tea. Once I finally figured out what I wanted, I ordered my hot milk tea, paid, and stood to the side waiting for my beverage. A big party had ordered before me, so I understood when it took more than 5 minutes for my drink. But the. I noticed that the cashier had prepared the drinks for the people that ordered after me. Confused, I still stood there, until finally the manager asked me what I was waiting for. Apparently, they had forgotten about my drink. Had I sat down and waited for my drink order to be called after it was made, I probably would have never gotten it, so it was a good thing I stood by the register. It took literally 13 minutes to get my hot milk tea. Good grief. Strike three: poor customer service In baseball terms, three strikes means the batter is out. In this case, I am out of this place. Honestly, I’ll probably be back here for one more rendezvous, but not any time soon, for sure.

Not the best drinks, decent baked goods, and really good hangout spot so all in all only a decent rating because I think drinks are key. The store layout is really nice though. Lots of space for large groups, and on the quiet side.

3.5 Stars I like the ambiance of this place. It’s not as crowded as Shilla or Breeze, but they are open just as late, and there’s ample parking. It’s easy to hold a conversation here. I’ve tried a handful of their items and I would stick with the softer pastries and the refrigerated cakes. The rice doughnuts are divine – even more so if it’s the end of the night and they’re half off!(I just reheat them in the oven the next day and they’re good as new!) I had their tiramisu cheesecake and it was delicious. The customer service is decent. The hot drinks are okay – I’ve tried the green tea latte as well as the black milk tea. Black milk tea was just a tea bag with steamed milk. Not what I was expecting, as I’m accustomed to Hong Kong-style milk tea. Next time I would stick to the coffee drinks.

I hate to be a traitor to my people. Afterall, this place is owned by koreans(or so I’m told). I really wanted to like this place. The display of cakes look wonderful and they have a variety of korean pastries/donuts/sweets. The problem with this place is that all their pastries are hard. Ok, they look nice, but they are hard. Like they have been sitting out there for a few days. I don’t get it. When I asked about this, the lady at the register replied with«It’s supposed to be like that.» Um, no! As fellow Unilocaler A.A. said, the only thing worth coming to this place is the rice donuts. They have plain and cinnamon sugar. Get the plain one and dip it in honey. SOGOOD! I have not tried any of the beautiful cakes they have on display so this review is just based on the pastries. Want good korean pastries? Go to Shilla Bakery. It’s like a mile up the road right beside the popeyes chicken.

I stopped in here after dinner at Red Holic looking for some bubble tea and yummy pastries. The décor is fairly nice and it does seem like a good place to study but it seemed kinda dead compared to what Shilla looks like after dinner. After literally poking around the pastries, most of their pastries and cookies seemed pretty hard and on the verge of wecan’thidethefactthatthesewerebakedyesterday. I settled on the red velvet cupcakes with no icing… btw who does that? Luckily I keep an emergency stash of cream cheese icing at home. They did not have many bubble tea options. I paid something like $ 6 and some change for a taro bubble tea that was just meh.
