If you are near the National Business Parkway this seems to be one of your very few food choices other than the food trucks or going all the way in one direction or the other on 175. That being said you could do a lot worse. At first it might seem like the staff is cranky but it depends on the day. If you come in enough the ladies will joke with you even on a bad day and are attentive and friendly. The food is really good and is avg price. Mostly sandwiches/wraps and soup with usually some tasty specials. When watermelon season is in they have some of the biggest juciest pieces you will ever get from a sandwich shop and the real secret is the Reeses chocolate brownie. Eat it once and it will be on your try every time you go!

Café Joe is one of the few lunch options located in the area, and let me tell you, it’s a blessing in disguise! Options are plentiful, ranging from a variety of soups, sandwiches, and wraps. They have fruit cups, yogurt, soft drinks, coffee, chips, snacks, you name it. I went with the grilled chicken wrap with bacon and southwest sauce almost daily, varying my soups each day(chicken dumpling, broccoli cheddar, and clam chowder). The ingredients are fresh and the chicken is moist. I wasn’t a big fan of the broccoli cheddar, but the others were fine. Will be back soon — Best, Charlie

If you work in the NBP area, you know Café Joe all too well. It gets a bad rap I think because people get sick of not have many choices within walking distance, but it’s a decent place. Some items are a little overpriced, but hey, can you blame them? On average the food is pretty mediocre. Avoid any hot sandwich, which is steam heated, and go to a real sub shop for that. The shining star of this place? The chicken salad wrap. It’s really good, and I’m a chicken salad snob. It’s made in-house and you can’t go wrong with it. At first glance the some of the staff some off as RUDE, but I think they just have a dry sense of humor. Give em a chance

Located in Annapolis Junction, this little gem has been my saving grace on days I have forgotten my lunch or stayed at work longer than I desired and it was time to feed me again. I really like their corned beef sandwiches and my co-workers get the wraps. They always have an assortment of fresh fruit(whole or cut up) and there’s hot beverages and a cooler with an array of soft drinks and juices. The ladies that work here are jovial and always smile when they greet you and take your order. That goes a long way for customer service. I have been good to go with the items I purchased for breakfast or lunch. This location typically hosts seminars for those recruiting for jobs, game night and various other events. They are definitely putting their real estate to work for them. Plenty of parking and nice clean dining areas here.

I would give no stars, breakfast burritos, Costco pre cooked bacon, old tortilla, should always warm the wrap before serving using real egg would be a plus.

Food is always consistent and I love their variety of selections. I always had an enjoyable visit with their staff. Subs are reasonable cost and a great place to go during lunch and breakfast

Anyone who works in the area, or has for some time, will know this-for quite a while, Café Joe was all there was. Something quick, something close, it was pretty much your only lunch option. With the openings of Bön Fresco and Subway, I am happy with more choices. Here is why: Café Joe is consistently filled with rude staff, and the food is not worth it. I can personally attest that two coworkers, who went one time, refuse to set foot in the establishment again after the way they were treated. I’ve also found from the times I’ve been there, the food is overpriced for the quality. Several times, I’ve wondered if I was even being charged correctly, because it seemed like the cashier was making up numbers. On two different occasions I got charged different amounts for the same meal. However, the last visit was the final nail in Café Joe’s coffin for me. We had ordered carryout, and I ordered a turkey wrap. I guess you can say I got some extra protein with my order, because they never removed the paper from the lunch meat. Since it was wrapped tightly amongst other ingredients, I didn’t realize it until I had eaten half of the wrap. Yum! Except not. Pics attached.

Had a ½ sandwich ½ soup here for lunch once with the fruit salad as well. Got the reuben and crab soup, was pretty legit but I was hoping that the crab dip was a creamy one, but it was a tomato based soup. Fast ordering, nice staff, decent prices.

I’ve eaten here a few times for lunch prior to presentations in nearby buildings. The menu is diverse, the food good, the prices a tad on the high side, and the employee personal touch anywhere from non-existent to friendly.

Don’t do it to yourself. Make the journey to someplace more… worthwhile. — the staff is more inclined to grunt than to ask for your order — the food itself isn’t much to write home about — can we talk about the staff not wearing hairnets or hats? — prices for a few of their items were offensively high for what you get

It’s a sandwich bar. You wait in line, place your order at the bar, get your food, pay, and go sit down. The prices are pretty good; the food: flavorful. What they can work on though, is their service and organization. At the beginning of the bar there is some sushi, then a salad station whose attendant takes your order, then the sandwich station. What doesn’t work so well is that the attendant has to yell down the bar to the line for the«next two,» as our sandwich-maker yelled to us. First off, that’s just gotta get tiring. Yelling«next two» for hours on end. Secondly, could you be any less personal? I’m sorry that I am just a cow you would like to herd. The least they could do is put a smile on. Anyway, like I said already, the food is good. If I’m ever in the area I’ll come back for a Reuben or one of their daily specials. They’re just not special enough to make a long trek to.

Thought this place was a bit too expensive but its the one of the few places to eat in a very corporate area! I had the veggie hummus wrap and thought it was good and also tried a chocolate chip cookie and had a coffee… not too bad but they were a bit slow and around lunch it is EXTREMELY crowded!

Its convenient and they do have a good menu to pick from. I wouldn’t say any of the food is fantastic. The staff is usually pretty nice but they can get a little hard to deal with when there is a lot of people. They always ask if you want a pickle with your food which is nice for people who like pickles. The food is a bit pricey and the reason I would rather go somewhere else. They have TV’s and stuff to enjoy while eating which makes it comfortable. The advertising for other companies is a bit much.

Meh. OK is about as high as I can go. Ambitious menu for a place that can’t heat a sandwich any way other than steaming it. Makes for a second rate cheesesteak. Won’t make THAT mistake again. Butbwhy even offer it if you can’t do it right?

As part of a lunch-during-meeting, ordered the tuna salad sandwich on wheat bread. It was simple thin sliced bread, nothing special. Overall it was good with lots of tuna. Not gourmet but not bad.

We ordered lunch from them one day from work. I had the tuna melt. I’ve had better. It was just barely warmed. The lettuce was the cheap, tough stuff. The idea of serving it on a roll was different, but I would have preferred the traditional grilled-type sandwich.

Café Joe is a little sammich joint in the heart of all the government workers of the greater Baltimore area! Needless to say, I am here for work and all I know was that this menu was passed to me and I wasn’t paying for lunch. So, I ordered the soup of the day and a smoked turkey sandwich. The sandwich lacked umph. The turkey and the bread was fresh, but that is pretty much the highlight of the sandwich. The soup was definitely not home made and had very little flavor. So, if this is what I can expect from Baltimore food, I am leaving! hahahh

Café Joe is located right outside the NSA and basically a 2 minute drive from my work. I first discovered this place when a co-worker suggested we eat here. She was taking a late lunch, and since I wasn’t busy that day, I tagged along. I had already ate, so I just watched her eat the heaping mound of tuna melt she ordered. It looked sooo good. I vowed I would go back and try the place. Next time I went back, I stared at the menu for a good 5 minutes not knowing what to get. There were quite a few choices. But, I settled on the Chunky Chicken Bacon Melt and a cup of crab soup. SOOOOOGOOD. The chicken salad was just the way I like it(no raisins or nuts). And the crab soup was a little spicy and not too creamy. Tastes very generic, but was good. This is one of the only two delis that I actually really enjoy! The food is good and the price is reasonable. If I’m looking to «go out» for lunch, I normally hit up a restaurant in Columbia. But when you’re in need of something quick and close by, then Café Joe will do you just fine.
