We had just had a baby shower and wanted to exchanged a few items. We waited in line 15 minutes and then as we got to the front the checkout woman accused us of cutting in line and told us to go to the back. However she apologized when the people behind us told her we had been there the whole time. Then as we put our items on the counter she began scanning and bagging them. She was ¾ of the way through before she realized that we were exchanging the items, although we told her when we first arrived at the counter. She then rescanned each item, irritated. I then pulled out my gift receipts and she snapped that I should have given them to her before she scanned everything and that if I insisted she would have to scan everything twice more(after already having scanned the items twice) because we had two separate gift receipts. She acted very put out and obviously the long line of people behind us were getting tired of waiting since she had already rescanned our items twice. I felt bullied into dropping the matter when in fact those receipts could have saved us quite a bit of money. I left the store extremely upset by how I was treated and vowed never to return again. As a business owner myself, I would be ashamed to have had a customer mistreated this way. This babies r us needs to pull it together with customer service training or do some serious employee reevaluation.

There is a reason that Toys R Us and Babies R Us in Anne Arundel County is in constant search of an HR Director on career websites and its likely because nobody wants to manage their staff. I visited the Babies R Us section of the store to purchase a gift off a baby shower registry and the staff was neither helpful nor courteous. The young male employee paged another employee across the speaker using colloquialisms and slang for all of the guests and other employees to hear and, judging by the slovenly appearance of his uniform, probably had no idea he was doing anything wrong. I printed out the registry, which directed me to aisle A9 for the item I sought. I came to realize only after asking another lackadaisical employee that there exists no Aisle A9 in this store. I found my item in a different aisle and got the heck out of there, using a 15% off coupon I had previously found online. Lesson learned? Next time find the registry item on Amazon or Target’s website and buy it there. I will not be visiting Babies R Us again any time soon.

My detest of Babies R Us is well-documented, so when I say that this location is the least-repulsive I have been to, and, dare I say it, actually«A-OK,» you should definitely pay attention. That way, the next time you are forced to enter one of these mega-monstrosities to get a baby shower gift, you know to skip the others in your vacinity and make the drive to this location no matter where you live. What you spend in gas, you more than make up for in sanity saved, so do yourself a favor and quit being lazy. The store is half Babies R Us and half Toys R Us, with both sides comprised of wide aisles and orderly displays. There aren’t a lot of displays though, since the building is split between two stores(the store in Silver Spring is bigger, but definitely not better), but you get the idea of what they have and can always order online as well. I didn’t see many employees working the floor on a Saturday, which was odd, but there were a few if you needed them… just had to seek them out. All in all, A-OK in my book, but not a fan yet per se.

Do NOT register at Babies R Us or Toys R Us. Sure — they have a lot available for newborns, infants, and babies, and if you need it and buying it for your child, that’s one thing, but i am writing to warn you about the registry. Horrible policies regarding exchanges and returns. I asked the right questions(or so I thought) before signing up, and I still got f*d. Not fair. It’s not even technically money out of my pocket(it is the money my friends and family spent on gifts), but it still makes me so mad. I come in with actual proof of how much someone paid for something and expect that same amount back via store credit. Does that sound crazy to you? I repeat — full proof which they actually pulled up on their computers with name address credit card info and everything! My only alternative was to keep these items, but that’s why I was returning /exchanging — I had too many doubles! Please do not register here. I know it is tempting, but until they change their policies, do not give them your business via baby registry.

Five months into our first pregnancy we had no clue what to buy for a newborn. This store provided us with a checklist and explained all of the sale items, coupons and rebates. We bought a crib changing station combo and a bassinet. We have a ton of things to buy in the upcoming months so we will definitely be using this store for those purchases. Another benefit of this store compared to a Walmart or Target is that all of the items for sale are on complete display so you can see the merchandise fully assembled before making the purchase.

I am a fan only because I have a new little one and I go there at least once or twice a week. This place is great because it has almost everything I need and it’s also not the greatest because it doesn’t have everything I need. So life with a new baby, you need things. But size two pampers apparently is a popular size. Soooo sometimes I have to get them elsewhere. Why is this place so great… lines are short, they are well staffed, have frequent sales, a good rewards program, and cute clothes for the tike. Why are they eh. The Pasadena BRU has more items and a better stock, so I envy people that live closer to that one. But for the most part, I love my BRU… on sale days!
