After reading the high and low rated reviews and considering my own experience I think both extremes are correct. My experience is at the«across the hall» office in Suite 300. I had an appointment last week and my insurance was denied. I knew I should be covered and said I would find out what was going on and asked to be put on their cancellation list to avoid a five month wait for the next open appointment. Interestingly my wife had an appointment the same day I did — same insurance carrier and same policy — and everything worked. I spoke directly with our company insurance broker and the underlying insurance carrier and everyone said there was no reason for my insurance to be denied. Today I went back(another patient could not make their appointment and kindly called in so I got a call that there was an opening). My insurance was again denied. I had to stand in front of the line and make clear that the practice had a problem, not me or my insurance. With great frustration on her part the young lady at the counter finally said«oh I see» and my insurance cleared. No apology at all, just«sit down until you are called.» On the other hand medical staff was exemplary. Well treated and cared for, taking their time to answer all my questions. Once I was past reception the only waiting I had to do was for the dilation drops to take affect. If you read the Unilocal reviews, the low ratings refer to administrative service and the high ones relate to medical ones. The issues are clear. The question is if the practice will pay attention in time to take corrective action. Hello management! Are you paying attention? For those who persevere and use the practice, follow Medical Pkwy across Bestgate Rd and turn left into the parking garage for Sajak Pavilion. Park on level three and you’ll be able to walk directly onto the level of the offices. You can use my space. I don’t think I’ll be needing it.

Dr. Scott is AWESOME She is so welcoming and knowledgeable. She really takes time to listen to your concerns and examine your case. The entire staff at Chesapeake Eye Care are friendly and professional. I would highly recommend this practice.

Worst customer service ever! First I scheduled my appointment for a certain day. I’m driving to my appointment and they call to confirm my appointment for Monday(it’s Friday). I took a day off of work so they fit me in on the day I actually scheduled my appointment for. Then I get a letter saying I no showed my appointment and I owe $ 50. First of all my appointment should’ve been cancelled and I was seen and charged so how did I no show? I’ve been attempting to call them. I eventually get a rude sounding receptionist who transfers you to billing. And then billing doesn’t call back.

Dr Scott did lasik surgery successfully on me and my daughter as well as cataract surgery on my husband. Her operation is huge and includes all kinds of vision diagnosis and care as well as some cosmetic services. She does not however sell frames. My major complaint is that this is a money factory in which the doctors push you toward the most expensive option, whether it’s what you need or not.

I had lasic performed here years ago and can still see perfect 20 – 20 vision. I was practically blind before. Their follow up visits are a bit pricey, and you need to do one a year in order for them to guarantee their surgery and do a free touch up years later if needed, but I just bought eye insurance afterwards, and it ended up being cheeper since the insurance includes a free eye visit. Overall good experience. The doctor is a pro. I did extensive research beforehand, and she had the best ratings and most importantly success rates of any lasic doctor in the area, and I’m confident she will continue to do so in the future. The place there is being run more efficiently now with automated self check ins. They could adjust them a bit to make them a little easier /more user friendly, but they just came out so I’m sure give them a little time, and they’ll work out the kinds. Good place. I recommend it for anyone getting lasic or eye surgery. For just routine visits; however, there are some cheaper alternatives.

The practice is not a very accomodating and friendly environment. It is more like a factory with no regard for patients real questions and issues. They say they are and advertise as such but they definitely not. They are more advertising and yearning for top #‘s but they need to pay attention to their patients needs first!
