The food is very good and there is a large selection of bourbon(with the option to be served with whiskey stones) and craft beer. I still have not paced my self enough to have room for dessert but based on their food I am sure that it would be good.

I have been here a few times and think this is the place everyone is looking for, but no one wants to tell you about! Whenever in a new town I ask about where locals love … Here it is. Now I have told my family go to secret … Please please please come and enjoy it but don’t take my barstool. Oh fig and pig and the old fashion with house bitters are a great start to any evening. Don’t forget about the tater tots. Don’t sell you visit short.

Loved it. We ordered the poutine and two pizzas. At first I was disappointed with the poutine. It wasn’t very traditional, it had very little cheese on it and the cheese was shredded cheddar. But then I tasted it! The gravy was the best gravy I have ever had. It was wonderful. We couldn’t stop eating it The pizzas were good. I had the spinach and artichoke. My friends had the pig and fig They loved it. We will definitely be heading back there again. The only downside was the noise but the excellent food and service more than make up for that. I recommend reservations as the dining area is quite small.

We stopped in last night on a whim… New Year’s Eve. They were VERY accommodating and worked with us regarding our request to be out of there in an hour and a half. Stuck pretty much to pizza, fries and scallops, all very delicious! Adam(our waiter) was great with recommending wine and beer… Very friendly, professional… Will definitely go back, lots of other menu items to try. Nice atmosphere, did a nice job of making the space into a comfortable dining/drinking place!

We have been twice in the past month and found the food to be great. Love the scallops, specials, pizza, and those cream cheese croutons. The staff is customer friendly and very accommodating. Parking garage a block away makes in and out easy.

This place sucks! The owner is an asshole and his employees mimic him. Not about the customer… all about them. Sorry excuse for a pub/bar in Annapolis. I wish I could give them a zero!

Really nice dimly lit gastropub with a great beer and cocktail menu. The mussels with duck fat fries were amazing as was the chili mac and cheese. I went for the first time on a Saturday, and was back again that next Friday. I would definitely recommend this place.

This place was good. Decent atmosphere, staff was nice enough. My cocktail was delicious! The food was great, although they seem to encourage small plates to share but for the price they are extremely small. We shared the quail and sea scallops. The scallops were cooked perfectly, however the potatoes they were served over were too sweet and creative for me. The quail was extremely tender and the meat fell right off those little quail bones. We definitely saved room for dessert which was basically a brownie with vanilla ice cream. I would recommend going at lunch and with girls who like creative food. The Price, portions and dessert are what keep me from giving this place 4 stars.

Awesome pizzas and plates to share. Strong selection of beers — all made in the US I believe. Really enjoyed this Gastro Pub tucked downstairs on Main Street in Annapolis.

When I think of a Gastro Pub I imagine a some what fancy bar tucked away somewhere with dimmed lighting to set a nice atmosphere, a decent amount of space to move around and mingle with others, great drinks and good food! The Fox’s Den owner must have been in my head and took part of my imagination because its all that and above. There was plenty of space in the pub with a bar area and table seating if you want the restaurant feel. The lighting was dimmed but still bright enough to keep the atmosphere lively and festive which keeps you from feeling like your in a stiff, super fancy restaurant but still manages to be very classy. The bar area has TV’s to watch sporting events while you mingle if you want, along with high top tables to dine and drink in the bar area. If you wanted to kinda be away from the bar there is also plenty of table seating to sit down and have a more personal dining experience. Now, I will say this; with this being a gastropub it still is some what like a bar. So don’t be the person upset because of the noise levels and amount of people! Drink, eat, talk, and enjoy the environment! Another cool aspect of Fox’s Den is they have real brick ovens to cook there delicious pizzas where there is also a bar top to sit at and watch the pizza being made, kind of like at a pizzeria. The staff at Fox’s Den compliments the venue very well. The doorman, and hostess were well dressed, polite, and greeted you as soon as you walk in. I didn’t have much interaction with the bar tenders because we sat at a table but our server was on point. He was really laid back but tentative and made some great recommendations for the evening. He fell off slightly when we were paying our bills, but we were with a large group so that wasn’t a big issue with me at all. The menu at Fox’s Den is not a big one and in my opinion it shouldn’t be, its a gastropub! People tend to forget that and seem like they’re looking for a huge over thought out menu when it should be to the point and good. I liked that about the menu, because to be honest I find it a slight headache when a place has too many options and then you end up getting something that doesn’t taste all that great. I feel you should do a few things and do them well! Fox’s Den does just that; they have ten brick oven pizza choices ranging from veggie to seafood, a few appetizers, salads and a chef’s creation section that changes daily to insure your getting the freshest products. For entrees we had the Chili Mac and the Boardwalk pizza, both dishes were creative and very tasty. The Chili Mac was far from your basic elementary style mac and cheese with chili mixed into it; this creation was like the daddy of that chili mac. This amazing dish was pasta shells cooked to perfection covered in a homemade 4 cheese sauce with tomatillo, jalapeño and duck confit baked in a personal sized cast iron skillet topped with a little cilantro. All The flavors in this little cast iron dish were amazing! The cheesy flavor from the creamy cheese sauce mixed with the with the slight spiciness from the jalapeño and tomatillo was a genius idea. Those components combined with the flavor of the confit and cilantro puts your taste buds on cloud nine! If you like the flavor of chili and a fan of duck, this dish would be right up your alley; Creative but still has that comfort food feel to it. The Boardwalk Pizza was also very delicious and packed with flavor. I feel the main components of a good pizza are the crust and toppings; the boardwalk pizza was dead on in both of those categories. The boardwalk is made with a basil arugula pesto sauce; then topped with shrimp, blue crab, mozzarella and sun dried tomatoes. All of these ingredients complimented each other very well; the crust had a nice crunch to it but was still soft on the inside which was a big plus. Then pesto sauce paired with the mozzarella, sun dried tomatoes and seafood made this pizza a very memorable one and I would highly recommend it if your a seafood lover. Based off of these two item’s im eager to get back to Fox’s Den and try some more of the chef’s creations. I usually don’t do drink reviews but one, this is a gastropub, how could I not comment on the drinks? Two, you have to give credit where its due. Over the years I’ve become a big fan of bourbon’s so with fox’s Den nice bourbon selection I was very happy! I had a few Manhattan’s and I will say the bartender made some good ones! well mixed and a good bite! I would definitely recommend stopping through for a few drinks. The Fox’s Den is a lively, classy but still laid back gastropub, they offer great food and drink selections that would make for a great date night or night out with some friends if you enjoy a bar type atmosphere. They have great brick oven pizza’s and some creative dishes that are worth trying out. If your ever in Annapolis or live near and looking for a nice place to check out give em a try!

Save room for dessert! The Knob Creek Milkshake and the Truffel Shuffel should be shared. There is a huge selection of craft beers, wines and mixed drinks-something for everyone in your party. Tonight’s Mussels of the Moment were made with a cream sauce like clam chowder. My only complaint was they serve 3 pieces of bread and charges extra for additional bread that was needed to «sop» up the sauce. The Boardwalk Pizza was done with just the right amount of crab and shrimp. It’s a small place so make reservations online.

I’m updating this review because the menu has changed. I went when they first opened and loved it. I still love it although the sandwich that I raved about in my last review is no longer on the menu… They just aren’t doing sandwiches anymore which is cool. They also removed the shishito peppers from the menu so, sorry… I went with a group so I had the opportunity to try a lot of stuff. We started with the pig wings… Yum! The meat was tender and even though it was the leg of a suckling pig still a lot like eating a chicken wing just bigger and porkier(yes you’re welcome for pointing out the obvious) we also got the tater tots with caviar. Don’t expect a lot of caviar, but for the price I think they give a reasonable amount since caviar is sooo expensive on its own. What makes this dish special is the dichotomy of fried tots(delicious but not necessarily classy) with caviar(also delicious but actually classy). The saltiness of the caviar goes perfectly with the tots and the sour cream used for dipping on the bottom. We tried 3 types of mussels. My favorite was the one I ordered. «The purist» it’s a classic white whine mussel preparation. It’s my favorite way to eat mussels and I wasn’t disappointed however trying some of their less traditional plays on mussels is still the way to go… The old bay is like eating a big bowl of Maryland which is appropriate in Annapolis. The fra diavlo has a great spicy bite to it as it should, but it didn’t over power the mussels which is exactly the kind of balance I would want. We got the fig and pig pizza again… My last raving review stands. Delicious. ‘Nough said.

Great place. Have had the beet salad, boardwalk pizza, Sneaky Russian drink and a few of the beers. Good food and great atmosphere.

Still Four stars but some new tips. The Pig and Fig pizza is great but get it only if you have 5 or more. One slice will bury you. The Original Pizza still the best. Duck fries are awesome but bring your own malt vinegar? Aren’t we in MD. To that matter getting a shaker of crushed red pepper for your pie is also not possible. If it’s packed don’t plan to chat, the noise will be deafening. Service staff as wonderful as they are pretty.

I heard about fox’s den through fb and checked out their page. American gastro pub? I definitely needed to try it out. I’ve been here twice now since they’ve opened and had a great experience. Making reservations was super simple using open table on their website. Both times I was running a few minutes late and when I called they were super understanding. Arriving has been a treat both times, the hostess was very sweet and welcoming! The menu always looks great… beer selection is very unique and they have some great cocktails. I’ve had the pig and fig pizza, which had quickly shot up my list to one of my all time favorites. A must if you like the salty sweet taste. The pig wings are delicious, but they’re just ribs. And the beet salad is super fresh. The oxtail pizza is super original with the pickles and all of the pizzas had amazing fresh crust and cheeses. I had the rosemary Brittany cocktail which was super delicious! Unfortunately they were out of a few beers I wanted to try and the oyster appetizer. To make up for it our server sent us over complimentary dessert! He was great and very attentive with water, ordering, and just casual chatter. Will definitely return next time I’m in Annapolis!

Great atmosphere! Staff was friendly and helpful. Bartender Forest made great drink and food recommendations! The mussels, fries with gravy(poutine), and smoked beet salad were amazing! Pizza was good. Also tried one of the barrel aged cocktails– very good! Would definitely recommend it!

The restaurant I’ve been waiting for! I moved here from Brooklyn, and can not wrap my head around these giant Annapolis restaurants. Fox’s Den has the cozy and stylish feel of a NYC restaurant. Finally! And I feel even more at home with their Brooklyn-made pizza oven! Our pizza was really good, as were the super tender mussels. Our incredibly nice bartender, Tommy, was so knowledgable about everything, including their stellar beer and bourbon selection… everything we tried was something we hadn’t ever had before. That was fun! Really looking forward to going back and trying more of the menu.(And i must say… the all-male bartending staff was as yummy looking as the food!)

Great cozy atmosphere… probably the best in Annapolis. Pizzas are cooked in a wood fired oven made in Brooklyn. Very creative menu. The pork wings were incredible. Beer selection is really good… and they have tons of great bourbons. The mussels were cooked perfectly. Can’t wait to try more pizzas. The Cuban sandwich and duck fat fries looked really good… will definitely them next time. Service was perfect. So glad we have another great restaurant in Annapolis.

Awsome menu, very unique. Pizza is the main fair. They have a mussels menu and the sandwiches are very different. I can’t wait to go thru the menu.
