Brian has done a lot of work around my home. Our expectations for the work and price are always exceeded. He really knows his stuff, is clean, friendly and always on time.

Brian has completed many jobs for me and my clients — he does great work, he communicates well and he charges a very fair amount for the work he does. He never takes shortcuts and I refer him to people all the time. Excellent person with an excellent work ethic.

Awful, awful, awful. He came and spent abut an hour doing a walk through to take note of all that I needed done. Then, he said he’d be in touch. He didn’t give me a firm start date or end date. He showed up one day while I was at work without calling to confirm. Obviously nothing got done this day. Then when I e-mailed to set up another day he «reminded me» that he only did handyman work on fridays. What? I would have never hired someone who only worked on fridays as I needed to get this work done in a timely manner. I let him know that his communication was poor and I was going with someone else and he simply said ok. Oh, I forgot to mention that when he power washed one of my outside structures he bleached and killed all of my plants. I am typically flexible and give everyone a second chance. This was awful and I highly recommend against hiring this guy!

There are a lot of positive reviews on the web, which it why I hired him and why I was surprised that my experience was so awful(erratic behavior, late/no show, smell of alcohol, shoddy and unfinished work). — and which is why I am trying to post this review in several places. I am one of several people in Annapolis to have had experiences with Mr. Boyle and the following: smell of alcohol, erratic behavior, unfinished work, no show appointments, threats to take me to court if I question bill and/or delay payments(I did pay him following one aggressive email from him — «you will pay me in the end» — via certified mail, b/c I wanted assurance that he would not accuse me of not sending a payment; I had to mail the payment twice b/c he would not pick the mail up from the office — he filed paperwork against me while the payment sat at the post office), falsifying internet reviews using customer’s names/initials, and paying more for a project then I should have b/c Brian Boyle did not do the job correctly and/or finish in the first place. I strongly recommend checking and looking up «Boyle, Brian» middle name Owen. There are an astounding number of cases under his name, and I actually spoke to some of the people being sued by Mr. Boyle because they withheld payment — or he(believe it or not) never processed a payment and wants to go to court. Economic times are hard, and I don’t take lightly leaving a negative review for someone’s personal business, however Mr. Boyle’s work, work ethic and general behavior are of such concern that it is worth warning people who are trying to save money and support smaller businesses by Handy Husband Contractors/Mr. Brian Boyle. My experience: Mr. Boyle will start enthusiastically and boldly(«I don’t need to write anything down — I remember»), and then he may or may not show up to work, and he may smell of alcohol and say, «Did I say I’d do that? I don’t remember,» he will do some things well and other things will be hung upside down and backwards(I am not making this up), the deadline will pass, he will swing by to do a few items after you’ve made several phone calls asking when he will finish the work, you will end up finishing the work and feeling frustrated, days later he will ask and then demand final payment with a threat of going to court if you question any of the fees and work done(another person I spoke to had the same experience), and a «handyman» project will turn into months and months of your life wishing you hadn’t trusted the references he suggested and the amazing number of similar«professional,» and«prompt» comments from supposed customers leaving reviews.
