This is hands down my favorite place to shop in downtown Annapolis! They have an amazing selection from clothing to books to jewelry. And oh… the candles… it’s hard to pick just one. I find the customer service wonderful. A quiet acknowledgement when you arrive, polite offers of assistance and knowing when to leave the customer alone to peruse are all hallmarks of the extraordinary staff. I agree with reviewer that stated the name ‘Kokopelli’ refers to a more southwestern theme but since it is under new management(previously it was Chesapeake Trading Co), and the owner already had a Kokopelli store in Columbia Mall, she opted to continue that name. However, don’t let that stop you… this shop is Annapolis through and through. Whether you are looking for a Vineyard Vines cashmere sweater, a preppy set of Vera Bradley handbags or one of a kind jewelry this place has it all… and if they don’t they will do their best to find it. Also of note, please don’t leave without seeing the hand carved birds and other Eastern Shore items on display. These are works from Maryland artists that are breathtaking in detail. As far as I know this is the only shop downtown that features the work of these talented artisans. Soooo, bottom line, this is a shop not to be missed. And definitely take a look at their window displays which are artfully put together! A wonderful destination stop!

I recently stopped in at Kokopelli to buy a birthday present for the«Girlfriend Who Has Everything.» I had no idea what to get. The staff at Kokopelli was fantastic. So many great suggestions! I had the perfect gift whether I wanted to spend $ 20 or $ 120(and anything in between.) And she gift-wrapped it! Couldn’t have been better.

Bottom Line: Kids and Men will dread this place but for women, there are a lot of fun girly things to peruse! First off, I must say that the name Kokopelli is confusing. If you’ve spent some time in the Southwest you probably associate Kokopelli with the hunchback, flute playing god of fertility. I don’t think this store has anything to do with any of those things so I remain curious where the name came from. Anywho, I have been to Kokopelli in the Annapolis Mall several times but I’m a newbie to the Main Street location. The Kokopelli on Main Street is a rather large boutique featuring handbags, scarves, nautical themed gifts, fragrances and jewelry. Basically all the things women want but definitely don’t need. Kokopelli carries a lot of brands but some of the ones that stick out in my head include Alex and Ani, The Thymes and Trollbeads. I think the prices here are fair. You won’t find any bargains but there is something affordable for all budgets here. As a chick, I could spend a lot of time in here. As a dude, I would be bored out of my mind. Like the rest of downtown Annapolis, one drawback to shopping here can be parking. If you are super lucky, you can get a spot on Main Street at a meter. If you are feeling less lucky, you’ll be glad to know that the Hillman Parking garage isn’t too far way. The day I was here it was very busy so I didn’t receive much in the way of customer service but that is ok since I was just checking things out anyway and didn’t have a shopping list per se. I will definitely head back in here when its less busy!

Don’t be fooled by this small kiosk as it holds a huge collection of Trollbeads bracelets, beads, stoppers, clasps, necklaces, etc. The beads are well displayed and the staff is very knowledgable and helpful. They were able to help me put my safety chain on correctly and point me to beads that represented my hobbies. My Mom is new to the world of beaded charm bracelets and the attendant was very patient in showing my Mom the various options for using stoppers. Here are a few helpful hints about the kiosk: — Enter the Annapolis Mall between Cheesecake Factory and CPK, head left down the corridor and the kiosk will be right there — The Trollbeads website lists the kiosk as having gold products but they also have a full line of sterling and everything else.

Today, December 14, 2012 my Mom and I entered Kokopelli at 11 :15 a.m. — 15 minutes after opening time on a weekday. I saw a dress and wanted and wanted to try it on. It took the sales woman 14 minutes and 42 seconds after she told me she was going to let me in a fitting room. We left without trying anything on after she walked right past us after telling me she was going to let me in after patiently waiting. TOTALLYIGNOREDUS. I thought maybe I was being unfair during the holidays even though we were the only customers in the store so we came back at 6:45 p.m. when they close at 7 p.m. Enough time, right? A whole day? I knocked on the closed door and the two sales girls looked at us, shrugged and then went back to gossiping. NEVER have I been treated so poorly. WHY? What did we do wrong?
