Looking for a place to go for Happy Hour??? Oh my Harry Browne’s is the place to be in the downtown Annapolis area. First off this place’s atmosphere is great for socializing or just coming to get a simple drink. Although a bit noisy because of the fact that the bar is right next to the lounge, the food makes up for that. The lounge is a bit too dark too, but then it’s a bar lounge so it is expected. My friends and I got the Angus hamburger, calamari, and quesadilla. Let me tell you the calamari and quesadilla were my personal faves. The calamari comes topped with a sweet sauce along with a generous serving of arugula. Want an interesting mix of flavors? Then the calamari is for you. The quesadilla was very cheesy with the perfect amount of crunch. The burger, however, tasted like an ordinary burger, but the chips that came on the side were addicting. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the serving staff was very limited with only one person waiting all tables.

Exceptional restaurant! The food is consistently great; the wine selection is out of this world; staff is wonderful, specifically the hostess(love that woman – she always takes great care of us); the owner is awesome; they are a «green» restaurant which is very hard to do; and we love the $ 5.00 menu night(upstairs – bar area) during the week for those quick dinning outs.

Racist joint that refused to take ownership and stand up to their narrow minded patron who had drawn a swastika in the men’s room and allowed anti LGBT and anti Jewish graffiti to persist in an otherwise nice establishment. It’s a slippery slope and these guys have gone too far.

So we chose this place based upon recommendations from locals combined with reviews from Unilocal… I must say that I was a but underwhelmed. Service — it was ok. A couple next to us came in later and got their good faster than us(not that much faster but about the same time) they did bring us more bread when asked and kept the water refilled Food was good but seemed a bit on the salty side. Price: I knew what prices were going in and had hoped to spend for an outstanding meal… I ended up paying more for a good but not knock your socks off meal

An Annapolis institution right on the circle. Food and prices are fair but don’t expect to be wowed.

Pretty good food. Hidden in downtown Annapolis. 2 level restaurant. The night we came was pretty quiet. So we were a Little skeptical. But our main courses turns out to be very tasteful. Will definitely return next time we’re in the area

They have the most AMAZING wedge salad! I know, how can a basic wedge salad be out of this world? But the lettuce, the blue cheese, the dressing! Sooo good. Another great quality was their service. I wish they had more on their menu. But their filet was really good. Also they serve lemon sherbet between dishes.

After several years between visits, our recent lunch was a clear indicator of just how exceptional Harry Browne’s is… and an assurance that the next visit will be sooner. The triumvirate — of grand service, reasonable prices, and delicious vittles — is really the crux of what our experience was. Everything was done well, and we got out of there for a little over $ 40 with tip, for lunch for three. You can pay more on Main Street and be underwhelmed… or walk around State Circle and enjoy this great establishment. The cream of crab soup got rave reviews from the connoisseur who chose that, the meatballs(an appetizer, chosen for lunch) scarcely survived 10 minutes before disappearing, and the Jay Schwartz sandwich — smoked beef brisket and horseradish — was tender and delightful. Service was quick, with a smile. I am stingy with my five star reviews, so this is truly an extraordinary Annapolis experience.

I can’t put into words how wonderful the food and staff were for our wedding reception. Better than 5 stars. Nancy was so easy to work with and prompt with her correspondence, when I first called and described what we were looking for she took the time to talk to me. They assisted in every aspect and then when the reception day came, it was better than I could have ever imagined! The decorations were set up perfectly the food was out of this world, the staff during our reception were above top notch! If you want some where to go for dinner, or want to have a fantastic private event, this place exceeded mine and our 60 guests expectations!

The best meal I had in Annapolis! The waiter Pete was incredible. He was very pleasant, attentive. & knowledgeable about the menu items. The service was impeccable! I had the crab cakes. They were delicious & pure lump crabmeat with no breaking. Yum!

Came here today for Mother’s Day brunch and it was very good. I am not usually one for buffet style food, but this was pretty good. It wasn’t there normal brunch menu, but I’d def come back and come try it out. The staff was friendly and the food was tasty and I def got my fill today. We had a really good experience and I’ll be back.

What a great place for dinner, especially on a weeknight when you’re not fighting a bar crowd. Really eclectic menu, service is exceptional, and the ambiance in the upstairs seating area is superb if you’re not competing with a large party or someone’s office function. Prices are reasonable given the area — you can find food as good for a more reasonable cost, but you’ll have to stray away from down town. On the short list of great spots such as Level, Vin909, etc. Definitely worth it.

I’m not sure how this place got high ratings, or maybe it was an off day but here is my Blog & Video link to the restaurant’s review

We came in with moderate expectations and were blown away. Attentive but unannoying service staff, and a wonderful meal. We had the oyster appetizer special a what’s not to love about bacon and cheddar cheese? Then I had their special cream of crab soup! not too rich and it had surprising flavors of nutmeg and other spices… truly divine. The poutine was the best thing ever. The wedge salad was the perfect balance of creamy cheese and salty bacon with homemade dressing and local greens. The crab cakes paired with fried green tomatoes and pepper jack grits were the best we’ve ever had. The only complaint was the crème brûlée was overdone. A fantastic meal in a fantastic city.

Loved this place. This is a review of sitting outside on the patio. They are very pet friendly and donate 10% of the proceeds from outside diners to local pet charities. Our four legged friends had a nice water bowl and lots of attention. We enjoyed the crab dip, shrimp and corn chowder, shrimp roll sandwich, and the seafood cobblestone salad. The seafood cobblestone salad is a must order as it is chock full of lump crab, curried shrimp salad, and boiled & peeled shrimp. So good. Highly recommend sitting outside as you get a really nice view of the State House and the State House Circle is just a very pretty place to enjoy.

Hands down, Harry Browne’s is my all time favorite place to dine in Historic Annapolis. A friend who went to the Academy introduced me to HB’s and I’ve been a frequent visitor for the past nine years. Annapolis is a quaint city not too far from Washington and when you find yourself strolling around the State Capitol — in State Circle, treat yourself to HB’s for an evening of elegant dining. Their famous cream of crab soup is a must try — it has a warm, creamy, bisque-like consistency with real lump crab meat. Their main entrees are all quite sumptuous — including the crab cakes, coq au vin, filet, or my favorite, their rack of lamb. Last time I had their rack of lamb it was encrusted with panko and Dijon and was paired with Ratatouille, chick peas, and a mint Persillade(a parsley-based sauce). There’s a respectable wine list to complement your meal. What I like about HB’s is that their menu changes to reflect seasonal ingredients — so the entrees are the same, but the next time you come back, the meal will be prepared differently.

What a lovely place for Sunday Brunch! This wonderful restaurant is tucked away in lovely downtown Annapolis, literally across the street from the Capital building. It’s an intimate restaurant with an upstairs bar, dark rich wood, impeccable service and old school charm. We were brought to Harry Browne’s when we came here to visit family friends who recently moved to the area. They said this was THE place to get good crabcakes at a stellar price. Most of the brunch menu items were $ 11 – 15, and each entrée came with a complimentary glass of your choice of champagne, white wine or mimosa! How fun is that? The ladies ordered the Chesapeake Eggs Benedicts(w. jumbo lump crab meat), my father ordered the Jumbo Lump CrabCake Sandwich, my uncle ordered the wittily named«Philibuster» roast beef sandwich, and I ordered the the homemade Waffles. It was all delicious! Definitely worth coming back to :)

We went to Harry Browne’s for Restaurant week. I have not been there for over 15 – 20 years but it was as charming as I remember. They actually did not have a record of our reservation and I almost panicked, but the hosts were so pleasant and professional, they found us a nice table on a Friday at 8:30! The waitress was just as wonderful as the hostess. The standard menu looked so good we bypassed the«Restaurant Week» menu for some excellent meals. We started with the«Table side Cesar Salad for two» which was AMAZING! The presentation was very professional and she explained everything as she was going along. The cost was $ 25 but worth it. We then tried the cream of crab soup. It was very good. I should have skipped this because I was too full by the end of the meal. The main course was the lamb chops and the rockfish. I would say the lamb chops was one of the best meals I have ever tried! It was phenomenal. The portion was huge as well! My partner agreed! The Rockfish was excellent as well, but with the lamb chops on the table, it was difficult to compare! I definitely want to return and look forward to my next visit!
