Eh– my husband and I tried this place. The recommended pickled veggies are so weird. That kind of set the mood. We did get a delicious potato and beef dish for our main meal but it was rather salty for me. Idk, neither of us were wowed by the food or care to go back.

A fresh and pleasant menu, complemented with the views from the big open window, make for a snazzy newer choice in downtown. The husband/wife team does a great job from both the culinary and customer service perspective. The much ballyhooed tandy cake was just OK to me — a little dry and flavorless. We liked everything else very much and will be back.

Had lunch there today for my first ever visit. Had the Pork Lettuce Wraps and the BLT,(bacon, lettuce Turnip) Sandwich. Wow! Some of the best food I have ever put in my mouth! An explosion of delightful, fresh flavors! Absolutely fantastic! Service was superb in every way and the ambience simply delightful. Likely the best restaurant in Annapolis! Currently I live 45 minutes away in Silver Spring but this place will be a destination restaurant for me. Recommend it in the strongest terms!

We loved Preserve. Our server, Maureen, was so sweet and was really excited about the freshness and originality of the food. We only stopped by for a late, somewhat light lunch, but we were extremely satisfied. I ordered a Bloody Mary, which was the perfect amount of spicy. We shared the goat cheese pot, which is a small warmed(I think it may be boiled) pot of goat cheese, pickled vegetables, and olive oil with toasted French bread on the side. It was delicious. Michael ordered the poached egg hash with Bologna, which sounds questionable, but he really enjoyed it(Maureen sold it well). 5⁄5! Also, very cute simple ambiance.

I get it. It’s a nice atmosphere and unique style. But it left my husband and I severely underwhelmed. You have to go in there without feeling hungry. It also felt like everything was covered in oil or butter. The krispy kale is apparently a crowd favorite, but it left us both feeling greasy. The prices are too high for portions that are too small. We left there spending $ 30 on a beer, bread & butter, and kale. On the plus side, the servers are nice and the atmosphere is cute. But sadly, will not be visiting again.

I found all the food here pretty mediocre. The atmosphere was cool and great location in Annapolis’ Main Street, but maybe better for drinks than food. My boyfriend got the chicken pot pie(which is a soup, not really a pie) and I got the ribeye which I found chewy and hard to eat. The gratin potatoes were generally flavorless, and the chicken pot pie was just like a normal chicken soup. So I’d give the bar and atmosphere a 4, but the food a 2.5−3. Better spots nearby!

Tried this out for an anniversary dinner. I got the gnocchi, my husband got the roast pork and sauerkraut. We got an extra roast butternut squash salad to share. Food was delicious. Not what we expected, but very enjoyable. Gnocchi in miso soup was a sort of taste explosion. The pumpkin salad was light in flavor, and not stodgy. I got the whiskey cocktail, which started off a touch strong but got better once the ice cube had melted a bit. Good — food, quick service, not a huge amount of choice on the menu Bad — overpriced($ 20 for a bowl of gnocchi soup?), and the server stopped by almost every two minutes to check on us. We weren’t tempted by the three desserts on offer, but we were really after tiramisu. Left feeling just right — not too full, not still hungry. I will come back, but it will be a luxury.

Delicious. There were five of us and we shared all of the dishes. We ordered 75% of the menu. We loved the fried Kale which is a cool knock of of Rasika’s fried spinach. I loved the pickles. Everything was really good. A wonderful addition to Annapolis. Very good service too.

Great asset to downtown Annapolis! Farm to table. Has homemade fermented items. Awesome kimchee. Interesting cocktail menu. The Krispy kale was delicious! So was the lentil dip. Open kitchen. Younger couple owns and operates. The wife is really nice. Very hospitable. Will visit again!

The interior of this restaurant looks amazing. They did a great job with the renovation. There is also a cool feature where they can completely open the front of the building during nice weather. I dig it. We sat at the bar in some very aesthetically pleasing bar stools that proceeded to hurt our bums within five minutes. I’ve got some padding down there so this isn’t typically an issue. We ordered three small plates and a meal to share. I was surprised by the lack of healthy options at a Farm to table joint. We thought the food was ok. Meh. Nothing to rave about. The portions were small too. In fact, we both left hungry. If you’re a pinky-upper trying to impress another pinky-upper this might just be the place for you. If you’re looking for a substantial meal that’s going to knock your socks off, keep walking.

Preserve is a cute little restaurant that we luckily got a chance to get seating since the night was buzzing around town it seems. We sat at the kitchen bar seating and got to view the chefs as the worked their magic. We started with a bottle of wine to wet our palates then shot for small bites to share; the Mince Pork Lettuce Wraps, Charbroiled Bay Oysters, Dutch Chicken Pot Pie, Pierogies, and the Cast Iron Mushrooms. I thought the wraps were too salty for my taste, but my friend seemed to enjoy them. The oysters were my favorite; warm, toasty, and buttery with every bite with a hint of crunch from the breading. The pot pie was more like chicken soup to me. It didn’t really have the element of a meat pie which I expected. The Pierogies were needless to say I thought flavorless and didn’t care for them. The mushrooms were decent, but I would have definitely appreciated more citrus and herb flavors it had. Let’s just say I was starting to be disappointed. However, the waiter came to the saving and recommended the Kimchi Beef Jerky and the Crispy Kale Salad. We agreed and yes indeed the night was saved. The kimchi jerky was not as pungent as I thought it would be, but had a mellow kimchi chewiness. Definitely a snack with your beer! The kale salad was the start of the night. Fried kale with cumin yogurt dabbled around with peppers jelly and red onions. I love the crunchiness of the salad along with the strong yogurt dressing and jelly giving it the warm savory dressing it so needed. The red onions provided an extra element of texture. In the end, Preserve is definitely a foodie spot and a place to wine and dine with dates! — Enjoy!

I’ll go along with the 4 star rating! I’d even call it 4 ½ if I could. Our first time experience was impressive. excellent food and great service. Understandably long wait for a table(can’t complain about that, but text message from hostess allowed us to stroll Main Street and hostess was right on the money in terms of her estimate of our wait time. Can’t believe we had liverwurst sandwich and pirogues! Both met or exceeded expectations. great atmosphere with the open window. We will be back and may give it 5 stars if our first experience is repeated. Welcome addition Main Street!

What a Gem! Annapolis is not known for the best food but that is changing. Preserve’s team comes from Restaurant Eve in Alexandria and if you have been there you know about the fresh ingredients and the consistent cocktails(same people that own PX). We went on a Sunday early evening and it was not too crowded but not empty. Greats: — Service was knowledgeable — Fried Kale and Pickles were top notch — Pork and Sauerkraut was perfect for a Sunday evening meal — amazing to have it taste so much like home. — Wine selection is small but very good — Syrah blend was amazingly good for the price — Liquor(we did not have a cocktail but looked at the list) is very high end with some rare whiskey and gins with hand made mixtures and bitters. Potential for improvement: — The only thing that was strange is that so many people stopped by the front and read the menu and then kept walking(we were seated by the front). It is not tourist food and not overly expensive so I can’t say what it is because we were super impressed. The owner came over and talked to us about how they are trying to bring better food to Annapolis and we could not be happier.

For the most part the service was good. Food was okay. My husband ordered the fluke and i ordered the rib eye. His fish was decent. My rib eye was a bust. My point is, if you are going to put a rib eye steak on the menu, dont serve an overly cooked beef tartar. Thats just false advertising to me, specially for $ 29 bux. I can go to a steakhouse and get a much better size, realizing this is not a steakhouse, all i ask is dont false advertise. The drinks were good, my rum drink was made well.

I am so happy to have found this amazing place. Great atmosphere, wonderful staff, all around great experience. You can feel the love they have for food and cocktails in all that they make. Everything is fresh made or at least from local farms. You can see that they know food as all the pairings of flavors worked perfectly. Both owners are Culinary institute of America graduates! Wow! Really! It shows!!! We tried the pickled plate, fried egg grits, PA Dutch Hash, Deviled Egg Salad Tartine, the vodka cocktail, for desert we had the Ricotta and the Tandy Cake. Pickled plate was amazing. They do all their own pickling and they did an amazing job. Fried egg and grits was nicely done, fresh, and well paired. Grits, mixes vegetable, pea shoots… a little extra salt would have made it even better. But it was amazing! Pa Dutch Hash was to die for!!! Poached eggs, potatoes, bologna, and hollandaise… what a great combination of flavors! Perfectly cooked and all worked well together. Deviled Egg Salad Tartine was fantastic! Egg salad, Salmon roe, red onion, capers. Well balanced flavors and we really enjoyed the salmon roe in the flavor profile. The vodka cocktail was amazing. A savory infusion in which they infused a bunch of herbs(basil and some others) that made for a really nice drink! Ricotta is house made! Was amazing!!! The creamy sweet taste, great texture… could eat it all day!!! Was topped with preserves and pistachio granola. While the toppings were delicious and worked well with the ricotta… I could have just eaten tons of that ricotta on its own. Tandy Cake was a huge cake with a layer of peanut butter and chocolate on top. It was beautiful and very tasty… but since I am not such a cake person, it was a little firmer than I like… But very good still. I can’t wait to return! Bravo!!!

We went here a few weeks back and I really liked the style of this place. The atmosphere was great though it is usually pretty crowded. We sat at the food bar which was cool for us because we are total foodies and want to see how everything is being prepared. I did enjoy the dishes we had here including the deviled eggs and the shrimp toast. But the crispy kale was by far the best thing I tasted here. Perfectly dressed with a curry aioli and the crunch from the kale. It was delicious. However, the dishes are very light and the entrée menu contained many vegetarian options. For some, this is a good thing, but I need a solid protein in order to feel full therefore I was still hungry when we left. The service was just okay. The waiter brought me the wrong wine which is fine mistakes happen, but then he also brought us the wrong dishes so I was a little put off. I like this place for appetizers and drinks, albeit pricey ones, before going out to get something a bit more filling.

This is a wonderful, comfortable modern restaurant and bar. It’s a small place, although the light woods and having the front window opened to the street in good weather opens it up. The staff is welcoming, friendly, and helpful staff. The menu is small but has a decent variety of choices. Everything I tried tasted bright and fresh and had wonderful depth of flavor. Preserve also has a creative cocktail menu, with at least one outstanding cocktail in the whiskey creation they had when I visited this summer. I look forward to returning!

So we were rolling through town and made a quick stop on Main St in Annapolis. My aunt wanted to take us to Preserve for lunch and I had read previously about the chef’s great pedigree when it came to cooking so I had high expectations going in, I was not disappointed. One thing that you must get when you are at Preserve are the deviled eggs, they are just amazing, the pickled radish at the bottom is just to kicker. We also did the house pickles, which is an assortment of pickles vegetables which again were awesome. For lunch everyone got a combination of bahn mis and the lettuce wraps. The bahn mi is legit, they make their terrine in house out of the trimmings from the ribeye steaks they serve at dinner. Totally awesome. There wasn’t a single complaint from us on anything, the server was very friendly and super knowledgeable about the menu and the restaurant in general. This is an awesome addition to Main St and I can’t wait to go back for dinner.

You really can’t call it chicken pot pie if it’s just bland soup with wide, thick noodles, bits of chicken and potato. I don’t care that there’s the qualifier that it’s «Pennsylvania Dutch» style in the description– chicken pot pie is a very particular thing and I think the wait staff should tell you clearly it does not resemble what you’re thinking of in any way(ours just told me it was a soup, which I took to mean it just didn’t have a crust). So, that was pretty disappointing– $ 7 down the drain. The rest of the food was pretty good: I got a side salad(not on the menu, but they made me a $ 7 version of the mixed greens main course) that was lightly dressed and had a good mix of granola, feta and craisins and bacon($ 6) which only had four pieces, but was really smokey and delicious. Two of my friends got the«Sunnyside»($ 12) that comes with two eggs, toast and home fries. The potatoes were chopped up pretty tiny, which I think it is a bit unusual for home fries, but were quite yummy. I find it vaguely off-putting when places don’t offer any bread to start(you have to pay $ 5 for it here). We also got a couple drinks: the lemonade($ 3) was very tart, just the way I like it, and the ginger house-made soda($ 3) which was very sweet– not quite what we were expecting. The space is very cute; there’s a good variety of bar and booth seating, with a couple of two-tops by the door. They use what I assume are their own preserves as decoration, which lends a homey touch. I might try it for dinner again, but I think brunch was just mediocre.

Amazing new gem! My daughter and I stopped in Friday for a late lunch. This was their second day open and they didn’t miss a beat! Great service and amazing food. We will be regulars! Love the feel of the place. So comfortable! We got lucky and were able to get one of the three 2 tops in the window. It was the most glorious day! Perfect weather. We had the pork lettuce wraps and the bread and butter for starters. WOW! Who knew bread and butter could be so spectacular! I mean seriously. You have to get it. The lettuce wraps were the perfect blend of flavors on my favorite butter lettuce :-) We then tried the seasonal BLT. The seasonal«T» was turnip! It was grilled and so delicious. Such an unexpected combination and it worked brilliantly! And the fries were amazing! So thrilled to see local kombucha from Capitol! We loved everything. We look forward to coming back for dinner and also can’t wait to try the brunch!
