It’s a sad day when the independent last shoe store on Annapolis’ Main Street closes, but the owner has decided to retire, and thus the time has come to say goodbye. Snyder’s has been a landmark of the Annapolis retail scene for decades, and their departure(along with other recent store closings) marks the end of quality apparel retailing on Main Street. In their last days of operations, they are offering big discounts on their remaining stock, so stop in for some new Sperry’s before they are gone.

We love Snyders Bootery, and Biz Snyder is the best. They have great prices on shoes, and have gone above and beyond for us over the years. Once my husband bought a pair of Sperry’s and the stitching in the back of the shoe gave him a blister. We went back to Snyders, and they put a piece of Moleskin on the back of the shoe to cover the stiching. Top notch service. We have a policy in our house that whenever we need new boat shoes, we will wait until we’re back in Annapolis to buy them from Snyders. Great local businesses deserve our support.

Cindi, You can lie but at the end of the day. I had a witness for the whole event and you are singlehandedly ruining your husbands business. Why in the world would I buy a $ 2000 carousel horse and have it shipped all the way to Washington from your local antique store and ask you for«good faith»? Try again. You are failing miserably, do you honestly think that I am the only person that came in and your business told customers that samples were cash only? Epic Fail. If I could give this sad group a negative one, I would. For those of you reading my review, please read through ALL of them, you will find many purchases and much happiness to the tune of several thousand dollars. Funny, is anyone else picking up on the fact that I have several reviews in Annapolis for several large purchases. Try again, good faith! lmao.

I went in during Midnight Madness, when they were obviously busy, and was a bit indecisive, but I was treated as if there was no one else they could have been helping. The woman in the store even climbed up to their display to get me the size shoe I had asked them for. Even after trying it on, I was still on the fence as this was the only item in the store that was not a sale item. I did not express this opinion, but the man in the store(I believe the owner) came over and told me he would give me the same sale that existed for every other shoe in the store(20% off!) if I bought them that night. Needless to say, I purchased the shoes and intend to shop there again. Apparently they’re the biggest Sperry seller in the country and they’re willing to order any pairs they don’t have in store. I had a great experience there and will shop again!

I really hate writing negative reviews, but I’m going to have to on this one. I came in today to look at shoes, hoping they had sandals. The shoes I was wearing were giving me blisters, so I’d hoped to find something else to wear home. The one woman on the sales floor completely ignored me as I walked in, and was busy attempting(very loudly) to convince two girls that the silver flats she had for sale went with ANYTHING they wore with it. Meanwhile, either a coworker or someone else in the back had a baby back there, who was SCREAMING his head off. There are time for visiting people, and it is NOT during business hours. I finally picked two Clarks brand shoes off the wall to see if they had my size, and sat down on the bench to wait for her to acknowledge me. Once the girls finally left, she saw me sitting down and asked me if I needed help. I asked if she had either of the two shoes I’d picked in wides. She said no, and she had even less of those two particular ones because they were sale items. She immediately took the samples from me and put them back on the shelf, as if I was unable to do that myself. Then she demanded to see my foot. I slipped it out of it’s sandal, and she agreed it was a wide, she couldn’t tell from the shoe it was in.(Hello, I know my shoe size!) She then stated that the only shoes that they had that came in wides were the boat shoes by Sperry(WAY more casual shoes than what I was shopping for!) Then she drifted off and went to help other people. I’m all for supporting local businesses, which is why I went downtown today, but the kind of behavior I received at Snyder’s was unacceptable, and unprofessional. Even if they had my shoe size, I wouldn’t shop there again, simply for the attitude.
