A co worker and I were given gift certificates for this spa by our boss .We were so happy to get a chance to relax and de-stress. I called a few days before we wanted to go. I made an appointment for Wednesday at 3pm .The girl I spoke with on the phone asked what we wanted to have done, i told her that i new we both wanted massages and facials and we would go from there when we arrived. We got there about 20 min late for our appointment due traffic, the owner met us at the door and scolded us for being late. We asked to see a service/price list so we could decide what to get as we wanted to use the full amount of the gift certificates, she refused to show us one, looked over the gift certificates and told us what our options were. We each got an hour long message, a facial, and have our make up done .The owner was kind of rude to us, she told us right off the bat that there is a 20% tip that must be paid. It was not stated anywhere on the gift certificates, she said that it was their policy. Being that my co worker and I are both restaurant managers we were going to tip, however a tip is based on the quality of service provided, making us pay a flat tip rate before we even started is crazy. Again she was very rude in the way she was talking to us. The message was OK, not bad, but not the best. The Facial was great, by the time I was set to get my makeup done it was 7 pm, which is the time they closed, the make up artist made a point to say she had to stay late and kind of rushed. The make up was not good, Ive had better done at the mall .Now here’s the kicker, upon going home and telling my husband what happened he said I should go on line and check the prices to make sure we got to use the full amount of the gift certificates, and as he suspected we did not, that must be why she would not give us a price list when we asked to see one .We will NEVER go back here, as I do not enjoy being talked down to, taken advantage of, and ripped off . My boss says that he got these passes from a barter program that she is a part of. She has violated the spirit of the barter program and insulted us. He owns the restaurant and is not one to get cheated. I am upset but she should be more concerned with his response. By the way the boss paid the tip. What a great guy. Do not use this spa.
