Bottom Line: Not the highest quality home goods but I do like wondering around here. Something that makes Pier 1 Imports fun is that they have diverse décor and lots of colors. If you need some cheaper furniture, they have some good options for that too. Also, they have smaller scale furniture which is nice for furnishing smaller rooms. I personally like looking at the tableware, pillows, jewelry, storage baskets and decorative tchoskies. Within the last year this store moved to a new location and is now more accessible. The new location is right around the corner and is sandwiched between Mission BBQ and The Burger Joint.

LOVE that Annapolis has a Pier 1 Imports nearby. My husband; not so much! ;) Parking is STILL a bit dicey in the new improved location with three restaurants, a pet store and Pier 1 vying for not that many spots AND right across the street from Whole Foods and people try to park in this lot and walk across to Whole Foods rather than park in the parking garage. LOVE me some Pier 1. Variety. Price point. All the goods are great. Great sales. I used a 20% off my purchase coupon today when shopping and have another that starts on the 11th of December. They still have a LARGE variety of Christmas home décor and dishware etc. They always seem to have a number of employees on the floor but they are never particularly helpful. And please note where the line starts because they are sticklers for standing on line! ;)

The C table we wanted did not have a tag on it. We have been considering to buy this table for a couple of weeks, and I remember initially it had a tag for $ 89. Today, when we got it to the register, the tag was missing. When the associates failed to find the table price online, they called the manager, who was absolutely unprofessional and unconfident. We spent about an hour waiting for her to figure out what the price was for that table. Even after I mentioned that I remembered the price from a couple of weeks ago, she ignored me. My husband found a similar table on his phone from Pier 1 and was okay to pay the $ 99 for the table that we actually wanted. The manager kept ignoring our suggestions. We kept waiting. When she retreated to the back room looking for the right table, we kept waiting at the register. Tens of transactions had been done and we were still waiting. We did not hear a word of apology from their lame manager for keeping us waiting like that. She spent about 15 minutes on the phone allegedly trying to figure out what the price for that table was. When I started running out of patience(who wants to spend Saturday evening waiting for incompetent personnel to get it together!), one of the associates paged the woman who was still in the back hiding. Then they were going to ring the table up for $ 99. At that point I refused! I was not going to pay more than it was really selling for after having waited for over an hour! When the woman came out from the back-she did not even looked at us, she got right on the phone again. And again, no apology or word of encouragement. I finally asked an associate(all of them were very nice, except for that«manager») to ring up our pillows and we left. This was just unbelievable to me. That woman who has the guts to call herself«a manager», has absolutely no customer service, no customer communication skill, nor does she have any problem solving skill whatsoever. This was literally the worst manager I have ever seen! My husband and I both left upset — not only did we waste over an hour waiting, but we also did not make the purchase we had intended to make. I was so excited about this new location, but we will never be coming back.

This review is for the new Annapolis location. I visited on 10÷4÷14. I attempted to process a return without a receipt because the item did not match the décor in my home and I had forgotten the receipt at home. The manager that«assisted me» made it seem like it was a crime and tried to turn me away, claiming that because I had a Florida address on my Florida license(where I have residency) that it wasn’t valid and he would therefore be unable to process a return until I came back with what he considered a «valid address». I stood my ground on the matter because it shouldn’t matter if my valid license had a Timbuktu address on it, its still valid. I did not appreciate his tone and perceived lack of patience for the fact that I was returning an item which I had purchased from that same store 3 days prior and brought it back in the original packaging. It was my plan to browse the store once the return was complete to find something else to purchase with the store credit but I was so offended by his attitude, I left and will never return to that store again. For the record, everyone else in that store had great attitude and have been helpful each of the 2 times that I visited but because of the managers bad behavior, I will be taking my business elsewhere and WILLNOT recommend this location to anyone. Retrain managers like John(I believe that was his name) that the employee should not make the customer feel guilty about a return especially when it’s an opportunity to redirect the purchase that could result in even more revenue for the store. By making the return a difficult experience, it not only jades the consumer towards visiting that Pier 1 but Pier 1s or any other stores without a receipt in general. It’s all about customer service and for the first time since I’ve been patronizing Pier 1, I have never been so angry and experience such poor service from a Pier 1 employee.

This location will be closed in a week or two. Good thing too, because this location was in a bad spot for the customers. It was difficult to exit in to traffic without getting your block knocked off. Unless you had a compact car, parking could also be a bit of a hassle. The new and much larger Pier 1 will be directly across the street from this one. They were having a huge sale to rid the store of all of its items, but when I finally decided to stop by, all the good stuff was gone. Glad to see they’re making the change to open a brand new spacious store! Can’t wait until the new one opens!

I used my coupon I got in the mail, added it to the sales in the store, and whaalaah! Decorations for a bargain. Baskets, storage, pillows, flowers. These ladies are friendly and determined to help you find just the right item if you want their help. They also are not pushy and I can appreciate that. She helped me carry all of my purchases to the door to load into my car and I will stop back often to see if they have any new items in.
