OVERALL: This by far has become our favorite go-to restaurant. Whether for an intimate evening with my spouse or a celebratory dinner with the family, you can’t beat the quality of food and service that this steak house has become known for. SERVICE: Decided to try a new location(new to us) and we felt as special as if we were«regulars». Our server Scott M. was fun, knowledgeable and extremely attentive as was the entire staff. In fact, the general manager(Max) upon learning that our twin daughters were unable to join us(and quite disappointed), sent us home with a special treat for the girls. FOOD: The food was outstanding from the appetizer to dessert/coffee. We had several cocktails, oysters on the half shell, lump crabmeat cocktail and chopped salad, followed by perfectly prepared filet with a side of mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus. We ended the night with Spanish coffee and cheesecake(by far the best around). Thank you Max, Scott and Scott, for making our date night so special. P. S. If you’re indulgent enough to try the Tomahawk cut, you’ll receive a souvenir(50th Anniversary) steak knife… while supplies last ;-)

Annapolis location. We went there for an anniversary dinner with reservations at 6 pm on a Saturday night. April 232016. the service was non-existent. the waiter disappeared for 20 minutes after he greeted us. the bread they served was so dry it was like a croûton. when i told the manager about the bread and showed it to him, he said it was soft inside! but it was not. it was the oldest driest bread I have ever seen. I would not eat that at home or serve it to anyone. the waiter messed up our order and had to bring the entrée that we ordered, while the sides just sat and got cold. he argued about what we ordered after he brought the wrong entrée to the table! steak was good but everything else was not anything that I would eat at home or serve to anyone. the fancy potatoes were dripping in grease. the place stunk of burned butter and the steaks are swimming in the burned butter, a turn off for me. it was so noisy we had to scream to hear each other, a party of took us 2 hours to eat a steak dinner and we knew what we wanted before we got there, after looking at the online menu. all we did was sit and wait. our server only had 2 tables from what I could see. maybe he was cooking or in the bathroom or smoking, I dont know. He wore readers that were hanging off of one ear, and he seems to have a mental disorder, really. other tables arrived after us and left before us and had like three waiters. I don’t know what was going on. I won’t be going back ever.

Ruths Chris never disappointments. Been to this location as well as multiple other locations many times. The food is always consistent, yiu know what you’re going to get. The service is always excellent, friendly and always make you feel special, as if you are their priority. The general manager stopped by our table on our most recent visit and after we asked a few questions, provided us the history of the Ruths Chris brand. This location has fast and friendly velvet parking as well which I highly recommend using due to the location and lack of near by parking on busy weekends.

25 Year Anniversary Dinner was simply amazing. Our server, Simon, is a very knowledgeable and attentive. He helped us decide on appetizers(chop salad and crab special) and entrées(Cowboy Ribeye for me and Filet for my wife). Mushroom and mashed potato sides were more than enough. All items were served hot and tasty. He also recommended a $ 50 bottle of red which was a perfect pairing for the steaks. $ 55+ entrées are a tad on the pricey side but are now the norm for high-end steak houses. The $ 110 Tomahawk Ribeye was tempting but a 40oz piece of steak wasn’t in the cards that evening. There are $ 49 and $ 59 three course deals available. Highly recommend the Annapolis location given the attentive staff and quality of the food. The free valet parking is also a plus.

I will start by saying this: the Ruth’s Chris in Annapolis is better than the Ruth’s Chris in Baltimore, but that is probably the only other chain steakhouse it bests. My first gripe is with the restaurant’s timeliness. I had reservations for 8:45, but I was not seated until almost 9:15. Again, I understand the business decision behind this, but it is annoying to the customer(especially when the food is thereafter lackluster… I will not be waiting to get into a Ruth’s Chris in the future). As usual, I got caesar salad, filet mignon, and au gratin potatoes. All three were decidedly mediocre. Salad was not anything special, just leaves, cheese, a croûton, and two tomatoes. Steak was cooked correctly(medium rare), but the potatoes were disappointing. Not only was the serving size not really enough for two people(waiter assured me it was), the potatoes themselves did not have cheese mixed in. The cheese was melted on top of the potatoes, but that was it. Kind of strange. The waitstaff seemed indifferent and apathetic, as if they know they’re playing single-A ball and have no chance of getting called up to the Majors. I am hoping that Lewnes’ can turn around my streak of mediocre steaks in Annapolis.

Here is my updated review(after my third visit to this location)… I am now comfortable lowering them to a 2 star restaurant. They recently removed onion rings from their menu. They also have only one appetizer on their menu which does not contain seafood. This chain has certainly lost their way and it is sad to see. I hope they will go back and refocus on what once made them one of the premier steakhouses in the US. Until then I believe it is time for me to go elsewhere.

I received a gift card for my 5 year work anniversary to Ruth’s Chris! What a lovely surprise. This was where I first met my husband’s Dad & Stepmother about 10 – 12 years ago. We haven’t been back since, so we were excited to return. We had reservations at 6:00PM. I highly recommend going around that time because we seemed to have made it there before the rush. As we entered the restaurant we were the only patrons in the lobby and we were seated immediately. We were taken to the upstairs dining area where the mood was dark(dim) and cozy. I think the establishment needs more windows because it’s borderline too dark, and too cozy(dare I say almost stuffy feeling). Luckily the hostess kept walking, through the first room, all the way to a back room which felt more like a private party room. It was a very intimate setting. This room, to my surprise, had windows unlike the larger room we passed through. We were greeted promptly and offered bread & butter and water. The bread was warm, a few different types, and the butter was perfectly whipped. We started out with Calamari as an appetizer. I would rate the Calamari 2 stars out of 5 because it was all rings, rather chewy, and none of the larger squid pieces. This was a disappointment, something you would expect from a lower-end restaurant. My husband and I highly enjoy Calamari in general so we did eat it, but we wouldn’t order it again or recommend it. They do however get points for providing a lemon to squeeze over the top, wrapped to avoid getting pulp or seeds, and the dressing/dip served on the side was delightful. Our server kindly split a caesar salad into two plates for us since they do not offer side salad sizes. The caesar salad was delicious, and filling. For our main course, my husband ordered the cowboy cut rib eye and I ordered the 11 oz. filet. Both were cooked to perfection, nailed it. The perfect hot buttery taste, was amazing. My filet was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. We ordered mashed potatoes, and lobster mac and cheese for our sides. Both our sides were great but nothing spectacular. Our waiter was very nice, but took forever to do everything. He let our dirty plates sit on the table for a while to the point we were sliding them out of the way and stacking them at the end of the table. Which you shouldn’t have to do at Ruth’s Chris! Also, I noticed the other waiters that were attending to other tables in our room were using crumb scrapers to clean the table in between courses, and our server definitely did not do that. Our table was filthy with crumbs. He also took a while to come back with refills. We ended up skipping dessert because we figured if we had to wait for him again to take our order, clear the plates, bring the bill, process the payment, etc. then we would have been there another 45 minutes that we didn’t really want to spend sitting there waiting on our server. Not that we were in a big hurry or rushing it’s just that it was Saturday night and we didn’t want to spend our entire evening there. The whole dining experience was approximately 1hr and 30 minutes(not complaining) we appreciated how they properly spaced the timing of our courses so that we could finish one before receiving the next, overall the food and experience was excellent. We didn’t wait long on the food at all(because they have food runners) just for drinks, the check, etc., from our waiter. Overall, I would recommend Ruth’s Chris for a date night. Definitely not a place we will return to on a regular basis due to the price. My gift card was for $ 200 which I thought would have easily covered dinner for 2(with one alcoholic drink) but with gratuity and everything added our final total was $ 250.00. So if you’re going to go to Ruth’s Chris, be prepared to spend some money. Personally, I’d rather just make steak and eat at home next time. But it was a fun date night experience none-the-less.

Went to celebrate Valentine’s Day on February 14. The restaurant was crowded, so we didn’t expect super quick service. However, we also didn’t expect cold food either. The soup was lukewarm at best. The steaks did not arrive to the table sizzling, as is Ruth’s Chris signature. My husband’s steak was severely under done – rare versus medium. Sides were barely warm. To the manager’s credit, he brought out hot sides with my husband’s new steak, which was cooked to perfection the second time. The waitstaff was busy as iwas to be expected. Unfortunately, when they gave us their attention they were rude and indifferent. It was not the romantic, $ 200 dinner we were looking for. We felt we could’ve gotten more genuine service at the Outback Steakhouse. We’ve been eating at Ruth’s Chris for over 23 years and couldn’t of been more disappointed with our dining experience. Giving a 3 star rating for the food done right(either the first or second time) and to reflect the dismal service.

I am so disappointed with my dining experience at Ruth Chris this evening. I was looking for that fine dining experience with my husband on this Valentine’s Day. I was quickly let down when our steaks arrived both under cooked but the side dishes arrived along with the steaks. So the steaks had to go back and now the sides were cold. Do you think the waiter provided replacement sides, of course not. The steak when it came back was just okay. I was done. When your expectations are let down, there is no coming back. I have gone to Ruth Chris’ for over 10 years and have dined with them out of state and even at this exact location — this is the worst experience and I will not look at this restaurant the same again. The bill was over $ 180 and I let the assistant manager know before I left that this was not a $ 180 dining experience. I thought they were under new management. I got the assistant manager’s business card and will telephone them as well. Ruth Chris you MUST do better. You have lost a loyal customer and I can’t see myself returning to spend my hard earned money for mediocre service and dining experience. I could have easily dined at Texas Roadhouse for half the bill and a better dining experience.

I go to this location over the one in Bethesda, the staff is much better and its more relaxed. I stopped going to Bethesda Ruth due to a jerk bartender that knew everything and was rude, From what I’ve heard he was let go and he went to Mortons, so I might do Bethesda as well lol.

We’d picked up some gift cards from Costco a while back($ 40 for $ 50– pretty good) and finally got the chance to use them this weekend to celebrate my mom’s and my birthday. It’s a great, cozy location with easy street parking(yay!) though I believe the valet is also free. We were seated in a back corner with a fireplace and walls on three sides, giving us a semi-private dining experience that was really nice. The steaks, of course, were on point. We got several filets, a ribeye and lamb chops– all cooked exactly how we liked them. I’m not a big fan of lamb but even I enjoyed the chops! None of the other food was revolutionary, but it was all delicious and appropriate for a steakhouse. We got crab-stuffed mushrooms and Ruth’s chop salad for appetizers, and four sides: mac and cheese, creamed spinach, fire-roasted corn and mashed potatoes. The best was definitely the corn, which had just a hint of a kick with the diced jalapeño. The worst, surprisingly– I love potatoes– was the mashed potatoes, which didn’t seem nearly creamy or garlicky enough and seemed kind of sad and stiff when they got cold. At the end, we got two complimentary dessert plates with what I think was a caramel cake, vanilla ice cream and chocolate, with«Happy Birthday» written in chocolate on the plates. Such a nice touch! We also ordered the crème brûlée and chocolate duo. Both were pretty good, but the chocolate lava cake far surpassed the chocolate mousse in the duo– the mousse was kind of bland. Service was pleasant and consistent and not intrusive, which I always appreciate. A couple of drawbacks: The combination of a vent and door near us made us colder than we would have liked(my mom kept her coat on for part of the meal) and the hallway next to us where a couple of servers stood and gossiped, which slightly detracted from the vibe. This seems like a pretty good location of Ruth’s Chris to me! They definitely helped make our special occasion feel special.

Came her for my aunt’s birthday and happy that they had a 3 course deal for 49.99 or 59.99 depending on what you picked as your entrée. I had pan seared scallpos, I was a little dissapointed because they were chewy towards the end of the dish. They informed us that they keep the plates in the broiler so they really are 500 degrees, to promote warmth of food throughout the entire meal. I must say if I am paying all the money that I am then it is nice to have that added touch. However, for the scallops it lead them to be over cooked by the time my meal was complete. The service was great, Louis I believe was our servers name was very nice and sweet. He was a pleasure to serve us as well as personable. One thing to note, vallet parking doesn’t cost anything, just tip if you are going to the resturant. I thought that was sweet, since most places make you pay for vallet parking.

I was truly disappointed with my visit to Ruth Chris in Annapolis — nothing like the great experience I had at the one in southern California. The drinks were terrible and when we ask for a replacement, I felt the waitress got an attitude. The waitress also seemed to want us to rush to put in our order. When we did not order fast enough, she sent the manager to sort of nudge us. The food was nothing special. I will not return to this location.

Always great food and service. And if you belong to Costco you can get a $ 100 gift card for this location for $ 79. The $ 49 price fix gives you a starter, entrée and desert. Good happy hour menu also at the bar downstairs.

Great meal! Great Service! Celebrated out 34th wedding anniversary and they made us feel special. My wife had the Filet and I had the Bone in Ribeye. Does not get much better.

Consistent is about all I have to say. Restaurant is DIRTY. The carpet needs a serious cleaning and the smell of burnt butter is overwhelming.

Steak was good but I’ve had better for the price. I thought it would have been aged meat for the price but it wasn’t. We also got an Ahi Tuna appetizer which was pretty small for $ 17. Overall, it was not worth spending $ 200 on a dinner when there are other restaurants that are cheaper and better quality. Atmosphere was very nice and server was very professional.

Very expensive but definitely a great place to eat! The food was absolutely amazing! Everything is made carefully fresh. I recommend to order the $ 50 meal where you get an appetizer, entrée, side and desert. Keep in mind the side is not included so I do believe that this is the most money worth. After eating here I slept like a baby!

This evening was my first visit ever to a Ruth’s Chris Steak House… The best part was that we were seated immediately without a reservation on a Saturday. The server was decent and friendly enough. Now, I totally understood the prices would be really high before going in. What I hoped for was exceptional food worth the eventual $ 150 check… We started with the lobster bisque($ 11). It had a nice taste, but it was a pinch less than luke warm. The spoonful of lobster that was in it was cold, dry, and chewy. I thought maybe I wasn’t used to rich people food and maybe it should be just lightly warmed??? No, I researched. Bisque should be hot. The Caesar and house salads were normal. Comparable to low cost franchise places. Not bad. Not special. I got a Ruth’s Classic dinner with a 6 oz filet w/3 shrimp and mushrooms as a side for $ 49. My husband got the 16 oz rib eye(which was likely 6 oz fat) with a side of chipotle fingerlings for $ 59. My meal: the shrimp were fine, yet cold.(Surprise?) The steak was cooked perfectly. It was tasty! The mushrooms were cold and lame. The cheesecake and chocolate bark that came with my meal was okay, nothing notable there. My husband’s meal: the rib eye was super fatty, but generally cooked to his liking. The chipotle fingerlings were very good, but again… COLD. I tried them as soon as they hit the table, so it’s not like they had been sitting for a while. Same cheesecake as mine, and it was good. The fact that their plates are 500 degrees helped me try to warm the cold sides that we were served… Silver lining? So, now I can say that I’ve been to a RUTH’S CHRIS! Yay! I’m also much poorer and not satisfied. I wanted so bad to be thrilled! Mediocre food should not come with such a hefty price tag. Long story short, we need a date night re-do!!!

I’ve actually been here twice in the last month(which seems a bit excessive for a pricey steakhouse, but no complaints!) and have had really great experiences both times. The first time I went, I ordered the Caribbean lobster tail and was not happy. It tasted fishy and not very fresh.(Full disclosure: our wonderful waiter Kenneth had diplomatically tried to steer me away from the Caribbean lobster tail toward the Australian lobster tail, but I was like«No no, Caribbean for me.») When Kenneth got wind that I was less than pleased, he whisked right in and took the tail away, saying«I’ll take care of this.» Not only did they remove the lobster tail from our bill, they brought me the other, Australian lobster tail on the house, along with profuse apologies from the manager. The second time I went, in addition to requesting Kenneth as our waiter, I went ahead and ordered the Australian lobster tail the first time around and it was delicious! We also enjoyed the lobster bisque, Oysters Rockefeller and fried calamari(with a Thai chili dipping sauce I had to stop my boyfriend from drinking). My go-to: Australian lobster tail with creamed spinach side My boyfriend’s go-to: 11 oz. filet medium rare with mashed potato side Highlight: Kenneth Lowlight: Limited street parking(but they do have a valet)
