GETTHEBAKEDSCALLOPSROLL! But besides that they have over priced drinks and a lot of bugs… Like everywhere. All the food I have gotten here is great to amazing but pricey.

Awful. Very sick from chicken pad Thai and chicken fried rice. Call to let them know and they were very rude and not helpful.

No… Just no if you are someone who enjoys sushi. The sushi here was awful, some inedible. Here is my husband take on the experience–«I have NEVER written a Unilocal review. But tonight, I just could not let this slide. Note: I enjoy sashimi and nigri sushi… not a big maki roll guy. That being said this meal was the worst I have experienced in years and for the life of me I can’t figure out why! The location is superb. Reviews are a solid 3.5(about Avg for the area). Food was an abomination… mackerel(Saba) sashimi was discolored(yellow) and tasted like cured leather. Maybe it was brined to preserve it but, man, it was awful. Uni(sea urchin roe) was full of iodine and tasted like sewage smells. Salmon(sake) sashimi was good but this is pedestrian and almost impossible to ruin under sanitary conditions.» Please avoid at all costs.

Worst staff ever. Server was completely inattentive and lacked all basic food service courtesies. We felt like we were consistently nagging her for things. We would watch her walk back and forth while our food sat on the counter. She was practically charming, however, in comparison to the younger girl they have working there who has absolutely zero concept of manners or appropriate restaurant voice decibels. We had to listen to her screaming on the phone to their delivery driver who forgot something. Then she was literally running through the restaurant back and forth out the door. I have no idea what her purpose is in the restaurant besides taking phone calls. If you call in an order she’s the one squawking«and what else? And what else? And what else?» The sushi was decent but definitely nothing I would endure that dining experience again to have. Best to just have them deliver if you can stand to be on the phone with their obnoxious staff.

Food is average for a Japanese place. I’m always skeptical of an Asian restaurant that offers multiple types of cuisine but the sushi is decent, not incredible but not bad. Ordered the crunch role and Jade special, I would recommend both. Service was very poor– inattentive and waitress was on her phone and forgot my order. We sat outside so maybe that explains the inattentiveness.

I really enjoyed this place. Lots of food for the price and very tasty. We ordered the rolls and enjoyed all four kinds. Service was quick and the staff was kind.

This place gets a solid B-. Servers wern’t exactly rude, but wern’t exactly attentive either. Food was meh, and a fork and spoon were just shoved into my bento box. Not the worst place I’ve been, but certainly not the best either.

I am sitting at Sakura as I am writing this review. Their pad Thai sucks!!! We are 4 and none of us like it, it is not the pad Thai you know from other places. We asked if we can change it, the lady was rude, she literally told us ‘the problem is our test’, this is the rudest we have ever seen!!! We are not going back, and be ware for you too!

Fantastic service. I have never been to a sushi joint where the servers are so pleasant. The sushi rolls were well made with high quality ingredients and fantastic presentation. The sushi is a work of art; Wonderful warm sake. Great place for a date or to just chill and enjoy amazing food in down town Annapolis.

SOGOOD! The maki rolls are amazing and the service is great. Try the Heart Attack roll! A must when in Annapolis. Also, ask to get your photo on the wall!

The menu is a perfect mix between asian cuisine and american food. Ordered the teriyaki chicken hibachi and it was hands down the best hibachi I’ve ever had. The service was incredibly friendly and quick. Highly recommend!

We really enjoyed this place! We lived in Japan the previous three years, and this is the best sushi we have eaten since we moved here!

Sakura Café is my favorite Japanese restaurant in DTA. I come from an asian background so I always crave tasty asian food and this does the trick. I love the bento box and the udon noodles. I have also tried the drunken noodles several times and pad thai. All good choices. The atmosphere is nice and modern. The choices are many and the prices are good. Also don’t forget to try the green tea ice cream! Its too doe for.

The pad thai had a reddish tint. The were prepping the salad on the bar. At the bar, on the bar they were prepping salad. Seemed unsanitary to me and I didn’t eat mine. Sushi was boring, bland, and my pad thai even worse. This place is small– do not take a group.

Ordered delivery and told them I only had a hundred dollar bill if they wanted me to pay cash. Or I could pay be CC. No, they said. Making change for the $ 100 will be fine, they said… HA! Driver shows up with $ 70. My bill was $ 22.15. Leaving a very generous tip of nearly 8 bucks! I’m pretty annoyed so I ask if I can pay by credit card and the driver is annoyed with me! Says that he’s only short 2 bucks? Ummmmm… Oh! Cuz, I owe him 5 bucks for a 20% tip, he says. Ummmm… Yea, first off that’s more than 20%… Secondly, if the customer asks for their change, you should give it to them… All of it! That’s called customer service! You know that thing that we base whether or not to give you a tip on! Food was just ok. Not great, so no big loss on my part… because I will never be ordering from Café Sakura again. Update: I don’t know how this happened. But this review is for joy luck II, not Sakura café.

It was late & apparently at 10pm on weekends restaurants that have bars are closed to minors?! Well I’m glad because I found this awesome sushi spot! I can’t remember what I had but it was really good & I couldn’t decide. The service was great & everything was made to order. I’ll definitely be coming back.

Café Sakura is my favorite sushi to date in the area. Well, I’m not sure that Annapolis counts as immediate area, but I’m definitely a fan of this place. On the first nice day in DC, Hubby and I decided to take a stroll up to Annapolis during the day time. We arrived mid-afternoon to a very packed local! Per usual, I had a hankering for sushi and found Sakura on Unilocal. We arrived at about 5PM and were greeted with a smile and provided a table. The menu options were endless! Hubby wasn’t too hungry, so I only ordered 3 rolls(for which I’m very sad). We got the following: 1 — Heart Attack Roll: My favorite! Wrapped in a jalapeño, this roll has just the right amount of kick to make you want more. 2 — Annapolis Roll: Hubby’s favorite. He enjoyed the different textures of shrimp tempura paired with crabmeat on top. 3 — Spicy Tuna Roll: Always a staple. Good roll, though we thought the mix was a tad on the salty side. Overall, we thought the fish was very fresh and the flavors developed. We both really enjoyed sushi there and would love to go back when we’re in Annapolis again.

I’m sorry Sakura, I thought this would be a good back up when my favorite sushi place was packed but I tried this place for the second time and had to leave after enjoying a bowl of good miso soup. The place was empty on a Friday night except for one table and that should’ve been a sign. I had a good experience the first time so maybe it’s just hit or miss. The waiter we had did not speak very good English so it was a struggle to try to order a coke and miso soup. She was also trying to be helpful by suggesting some appetizers but it came off as pushy. I tried to explain this to the party I was with and if she had been speaking Chinese it would have been the norm. But in English and the American culture it can come across as a little abrasive. Just some feedback, I’m sure this can be easily fixed with some practice.
