Stopped and had the Gyro and Po Boy fish sandwich and it was very, very good. Fresh ingredients and a superb blend of flavors made it a delicious dinner. We will definitely stop here again.

I meet with a group regularly here. It is now February and the Xmas decorations are still hanging up, as is a sign saying ‘It’s a girl.’ Food and service good for a group. Everyone’s meal arrives at the same time and they keep our glasses full.

Junkyard Fish Po-Boy, consisted of a piece of beer battered haddock fried golden brown and topped with melted American cheese. They served the sandwich with crispy bacon, jalapeño tartar, shredded lettuce and diced tomato on a sub roll. Of course I also got the hand cut fries as my side although they have seasoned fries and my all time favorite tater tots as add-on sides. Here is my breakdown of the meal: starting with the Po-Boy, the fish was almost perfectly cooked and served hot. The bread was toasty and warm and there was a good fish to bread ratio. The jalapeño tartar was a super complement to the fish and the tomato and lettuce were the perfect filler. The sandwich ranked a 8.5÷10. The fries on the other hand, were spot on. Fresh cut fries are hard to cook right, but they nailed it. Perfectly crisp but not over cooked. 10⁄10. This is a great bar and grill that has a nice variety of food. They concentrate on doing a few menu items perfect rather than doing a ton of items wrong. This is a great place for a drink and a sandwich.

Great place to order take out from. Service is okay. Not usually quick to help you even when picking up to go. Food is great and gives you options other than the norm.

Bottom line: your basic bar with reasonable basic bar food. It’s perfectly OK, but go more for the drinks than the food. We’ve tried a number of dishes at the West End, and most of them are about what you’d expect of bar food — OK, but not destination eating. On a recent visit, the fish tacos were a little bland, and the tortilla a little old, but perfectly serviceable. The meatball parmigiana hoagie was pretty good, the cheese melted just right. Salads were very basic — lettuce with Parmesan cheese and some croutons, nothing memorable. The wings were OK(there’s an «OK» theme going here), not bad, but you won’t remember them the next day either. If you live in or are passing through the area, there’s nothing at all wrong with the West End Grill. If you’re expecting a bar with serviceable bar food, that’s exactly what you’ll get.

The Hawaiian pork is very good has lots of flavor and it is very filling the triple pork is good has a great flavor the ham is very good and the pork is very tender and the fries re fresh made. The only bad thing I didn’t like was all the people smoking at the front door when coming in they should have to stand off too the side there is plenty of covered space for people to stand away from the door.

My family stop by here on the way down 301. First they turned on the football we wanted to watch where we sat. Next they have a gluten free menu and a dedicated gluten free deep frier. Everything we got was great. I got the Maryland crab soup and one of their sandwiches. My son got a burger with a gluten free bun. He is still talking about a week later. My wife got a chicken sandwich with crab on it what was delicious. We will be going by here again!

A great bar for Sunday football. It’s tough to find a good sports bar experience in Annapolis that has ample seating and decent food. I’m not a huge fan of the chains(Green Turtle &BWW), so I was happy to find a solid independent sports bar. The food and drink specials are usually pretty good and they always do their best to seat near the TV playing your favorite team. I believe they also have a good weekly trivia game. I used to frequent the West End’s now defunct sister establishment, Griffin’s Grill, and can say that the trivia night was a lot of fun.

Awful food! Not sure how they got 4 stars, unless it is rigged. Definitely clean and might be great for bar bites and beer, but NOT a dinner location. We were on a day trip in Annapolis and this place came up with 4 star ratings. We had the Greek shrimp, mistake! Caesar salad with the most unseasoned piece of salmon I’ve ever had! I gave one star because the wait staff was nice. However it was a big waste of $. It came up under a seafood search, Unilocal please change that ASAP.

This is our regular Sunday night drinking spot. Bartenders are always friendly. Recently I held my best friend’s baby shower in their banquet room. It was intimate, cozy and turned out awesome! They really worked with us to provided exactly what we needed. Allowed us in to decorate an hour before hand. I am overly happy with the way we were treated.

Atmosphere: Think«relatively clean bar, with attached restaurant». My husband and I were in town for 1 night, and we wanted«casual with good crab dip /crabcakes»… And I found this place using trusty Unilocal. Location: Although it is located at the crossroads of two large thoroughfares, the entrance to the parking lot is a bit tricky. Best way to approach is to be going east on 450, and turn right into the slightly shabby-looking shopping center.(Only«shabby» in comparison to the spankin’ new town center action that is directly behind it!) Crab dip appetizer: definitely«crabby»(a good thing), and comes in a hefty portion, served with two fresh-out-of-the-oven small baguettes. My husband and I could only eat less than half, and it left me pissed that we were staying in a hotel, and getting on a cruise the next day… ‘Cause otherwise I would have totally taken it home! Crabcake: VERY«crabby», essentially no filler, excellent and tasty! I had it as an add-on to the bruschetta salad, which itself was HUGE(albeit because of lots of lettuce, but had the appropriate amount of «good stuff» too, to make a good«good stuff to lettuce» ratio). Service: friendly & fast. We were seated in the bar area, likely because they didn’t have enough staff to cover the restaurant portion as well(it was sorta roped off /closed-looking… It was a random Thursday night). Summary: — crab dip = 5 stars — crab cake = 5 stars — overall experience = 4.5 stars, though I can’t put my finger on why I feel it needs a 0.5 star deduction So stop reading this… Just go, and order some crabby stuff!

My boyfriend and I were passing through Annapolis this past weekend and decided to stop in for a late dinner and to catch the NBA playoffs before getting back on the road. The place was a little hard to find in the dark(needs a lit up sign) but once we found it and went inside, it had a nice upgraded Applebee’s feel to it(a good thing for me). Lots of seating at bar and booths with tvs all around. We were seated immediately and our server informed us his shift was up and the bartender would be taking care of us. I was a little dismayed, as I thought we might not get the optimal service, but the bartender(sorry I forget your name, Pete of Jesse maybe) way a DARLING. He was very attentive and honest and put in our appetizer order of tots in immediately. My boyfriend was in a rush to get food because he was starving so he ordered the worl’d best burger and so I inquired about the shrimp and grits in my haste. My server was honest and said that he had never had it and couldn’t give me a personal recommendation but said it was ordered 4 – 5 times a day… In retrospect, with how busy the place is, that should have been a hint that they DON’T specialize in seafood dishes, but burgers. I ordered it anyways. The tots were amaaaazing. The world’s best burger was also amaaazing. My shrimp and grits were so awful that I immediately informed my boyfriend that I physically couldn’t eat it. Grits were dry and the cheddar sauce tasted like onion juice was diluted with it. The shrimp looked good though. He took the plate back to the bar and immediately after coming back, my server came over apologizing profusely and handed me the menu to order something else. I erred on the safe side and ordered a chicken avocado sandwich which was DIVINE. The fact that the server was so sweet and accommodating with us, boosted it up to a five star. If in the area again, I would definitely make a pit stop.

Four stars seems a little high but three stars definitely seems too low. I’ll start with the bad: this place is gross. I guess they rely on it being night and dark so you don’t notice how gross the actual interior is. The booths are very visibly filthy, the place is in serious need of a cleaning and remodeling. I actually didn’t want to touch anything. And don’t get me started on the disgusting bathroom. All so so nasty and took away from my experience. The good: food was really good and the service was really good. I had French onion soup and a chicken burger and it was all great. My BF had an Angus burger and nachos which was also great. Also, my server was very nice, patient and attentive but not annoying. Give it a try but have a few drinks first so you don’t notice the filth.

Came here last night with my husband because we were visiting the area and looking for a casual restaurant where he could get a somewhat decent burger. The food was phenomenal! We started off with crab dip and crab soup. The Maryland crab soup is comparable to others in the the area. The crab dip was the best around! Jumbo lumps were plentiful and absolutely no shells. I also got an entrée salad, and my husband got a burger. Both were great! All the menu items sounded delicious, we will definitely be coming back when in the area. Our waitress was also very tentative and kind. She came back to check on us multiple times and never let out glasses go dry. The ambiance is average to other bars, it was pretty quiet when we went.

I went with two friends for some crab, as we were in Annapolis, MD. What else would you want? We got a table right away on a Saturday night at 7pm — no problem. It was clean and everyone was friendly. We were asked if we wanted a table near a specific TV when we came in, which isn’t why we were there, but seemed very accommodating if that is why you were at the grill. Me and my two friends split the crab nachos, which were served on house-made potato chips– very rich, and great to share. I can’t imagine eating them all myself. My friend ordered the crap soup, which I tried and enjoyed. Salty, but good! I had the steak salad, A little heavy on the dressing, but overall a great take on steak, greens, artichokes and peppers. I didn’t really notice the Parmesan cheese. My friend had crab cakes and they were the highlight. No filling– straight crab. Perfect. Unfortunately we were very full and couldn’t enjoy the heck out of them as we wanted to. My other friend was satisfied with her fish and chips– the highlight of her meal was the coleslaw– excellent flavor, very light on the cream, keeping the focus on the vegetables. Would recommend!

Found this place using our trusty Unilocal app while traveling. Looking for a place where we could find a decent bite to eat and watch the rest of the ballgame we wanted to see. Plus, this place was fairly close to our hotel. West End Grill offered up an extensive menu that had interesting and inventive bar grub and really nice looking entrees. On this trip, DH and I wanted to graze on local fare and watch our favorite college team kick some football butt. To start, I ordered the Cream of Crab and DH ordered the Maryland Crab soup. Both were delicious. It is obvious they are using fresh/real crab. Instead of a meal, we decided to stick with apps. DH ordered an assortment of wings and I got the speciality nachos, made with home made chips and a creamy corn and crab dip. It was very good, but very rich. It would have been better to share it as I am still stuffed hours after eating it. Sandra, our server, was friendly, helpful and accommodating. You may be tempted to drive by this place being in a strip mall. But it is worth a stop if in the neighborhood.

We dropped by after the Ren Fest guided by the positive Unilocal reviews and were not disappointed. The diner side is a bit depressing looking, IMO, but the bar area is well equipped with TVs and painted a soothing grey and white. Being there for quite some time, we tried a good variety of food. Thanks to being a 4 top, there were 4 types of wings tried: –The Otis are no joke spicy but don’t have much of a buffalo flavor. Get some milk to wash it down –Thai wings are more sweet than spicy, too sweet IMO but husband loved them –Buffalo wings have a good kick and I think husband would have ordered these over Otis had we known –Old Bay wings were good — we had them grilled which is a great option The cream of crab soup had a pleasing amount of crab in it, especially given the horrendous soup I’ve had at Phillips down by the water. I ordered the Thai salad which was a large enough portion to fill me and get picked at by the rest of the table. The flavor combination of the vegetables is great, but I would have preferred a plain grilled chicken to the chicken in the same thai sauce as the wings which ended up competing with the salad dressing. The ‘MD fries’ which are potato chips with crab dip were an extremely satisfying and filling bar snack as well. The bar tenders did a great job of serving us even though we were seated at a bar table and very friendly!

Excellent pub grub with a very hometown feel. Service is always spot on! My recommendations: Chimi(churri) wings, Maryland nachos, seared tuna appetizer, French onion soup, shrimp and grits entrée, and all of their sandwiches. I especially LOVE the super messy Eastender — beef slathered in delicious curry gravy. Yes, beef and gravy my good friends, Beef And Gravy. The only thing I didn’t enjoy was the Hawaiian pork entrée. It was wayyy too sweet to enjoy. I mean, who likes sweet meat? Lol… ok, maybe some people do. This place is definitely worth coming back to over and over again. Look out for its nondescript location in a corner strip mall. It’s easy to miss… but it’s also worth making a U-turn for!
