Yeah, I’m pretty happy that Gio’s is only five minutes away from me. We picked up a veggie pizza and a dozen garlic knots for dinner a few nights ago and it was simply perfect! Order came out of the oven right as I pulled up, about 15 minutes after ordering(about 6:45pm on a Tuesday). The pizza was fresh and tasted great. I thought the garlic knots were going to be small based on the price so I got a full dozen… lol nope. THEY’REHUGE. Plan on 1 – 2 per person. They also offer various items like fresh baked bread for sale. Their menu is a little confusing. It’s hard to tell if they offer create your own pizzas, or just what’s already on the menu

Fantastic spot, tried a couple things and they were all amazing. I’m planning on kidnapping the whole staff to cook at my house so that I don’t have to drive as far to get such good and unique pizza.

AMAZING! 1. Lasagna Pizza — Yes!!! 2. Spaghetti Calzone — YES! 3. Garlic Knots — YES! And then the cannoli… Saw the reviews and drove 25 min out to try it– the lasagna pizza is enough in itself to make me a regular. I am so thankful they don’t deliver to me!(Or I would be in trouble) Owner and staff are also really nice and welcoming :) Restaurant is small and clean, more of a to-go spot. Food was fast with huge portions!

Gio’s pizza is absolutely the best! I’d drive across state lines to grab a slice!!! Fortunately they are in the neighborhood.

Best pizza in the valley no doubt about it. The reason is because of a pizza they call ‘casaligna.’ It’s thick and rectangle shaped and basically the greatest pizza available on earth. The thin, New York style pizza they sell is better than most in town but the casaligna is what sets this place above all other pizza places. It is simply unbelievable.

You can usually tell whether or not Italian place is going to be any good just by the name. Gio’s is a perfect example. I had the chicken Parham pizza tonight and it was even better than what I would’ve expected. The sauce had a clean, light flavor(and I love a sauce). They also did not skimp on the chicken. Lord, why do I have to know about this place, my gym coaches are not going to be happy.

Pizza is unique and really yummy! The salads are also really good! I noticed the have have gelato that I want to try sometime, which I’m assuming will be hard because the portions are huge. You definitely get your money’s worth here. I’ll be coming back.

Listen up New Yorkers/Long Islander’s that live in AZ… This is the spot!!! I’m born and raised in LI and this place is legit. The sauce, the cheese, dough, the taste. It was like walking into a family Christmas party, everyone greats you and once they hear your accent it’s like meeting up with old friends. It’s nice to see fellow ny’ers who actually own and operate their pizzeria out here. It’s like being back home. The quality of the cheese makes it. The sauce is 100% on point good Sicilian red sauce. Brings tears to my eyes because I miss Ny so much and it tastes very close to my Nana’s sauce. This place is def home away from home. I can’t express enough how amazing this place is. I’ll never go anywhere else. mondo piccolo!!!

Great Pizza! Great Owner! Everyone working here takes pride in this family owned/run restaurant. Really nice to support local business. Can’t wait to return & try their homemade cannoli!

Gio’s is GREAT! We have been here a few times and had a couple different slices of their pizza. Their Lasagna pizza is amazing! We usually take out the Sausage and Pepperoni pizza. Its about a 20ish min drive one way for us to get the pizza but it is worth it. I have seen some people say this pizza is good for Anthem, but I have to disagree, the pizza and the service is great any where.

Probably the best pizza I’ve ever had(I’m from nyc) I would put them up against the best nyc pizzerias. Amazing pizza, amazing service! Haven’t tried anything I didn’t like! My favorites are the buffalo wing pizza, the chicken parmigan pizza. They cannolis are to die for. They are also the only place in the valley that carries Gino’s Italian ice. You won’t leave disappointed!

I love pizza! All kinds of pizza. This place has some extremely tasty items on their menu. We tried the basic cheese pizza, chicken pesto pizza, lasagna pizza(garfield would love it), broccoli & spinach pinwheel, ham & pepperoni pinwheel and a stuffed monster that had ham and potato. This is one of the best pizza joints I have been to. The crustis crispyand superthin. They have the finest ground garlic to sprinkle on everything. You should try Gio’s! We are looking forward to trying the rest of the menu over time. It all looked so yummy! Go there! You won’t regret it.

Pure Deliciousness! They are authentic and the man knew his stuff and said everything with his Italian accent. It’s also a brick oven they use and I had the slice of Sicilian and OMG it was the best I ever had. The boyfriend got the stuffed pizza and that was AMAZING as well. A little pricey but for the food it’s worth it! Service was great as well. Not a lot of seating though for guests hopefully they’ll get more tables :)

Have had takeout 3 times and the first time it was just okay, but gave them the benefit of the doubt as they had only been open for a few weeks and the place was jam packed. I liked the sauce but the first time the pizza was not cooked throughly — almost raw dough and the cheese was not stringy and melted — it was cold and chunky. The next time was amazing — perfectly cooked pizza, melted cheese, awesome garlic knots, and the pinwheel was really good too. The 3rd time was kind of in between the first 2. Anyway, when it’s good, it’s good. Seems to be better if you go when they’re not too busy(not during peak times) as they pay more attention to cooking the food properly. Pros 1. Great when they cook the pizza correctly 2. Pinwheel was yummy 3. They actually know what garlic knots are and their’s are tasty 4. Friendly staff Cons 1. When they’re busy during peak times it seems that the quality of the food suffers 2. Inconsistency of the food — sometimes the cheese is great and the other times it wasn’t. It’s almost like they tried out a cheaper cheese on 2 out of the 3 pies I had. Someone said they use polly-o cheese… i’m thinking i only got 1 out of 3 pies with polly-o.

Pizza was ok, probably the best in Anthem but let’s be honest that’s not saying too much cause the pizza up here is nothing to brag about. It is by far the best freshest ingredients up here do take that for what’s it’s worth. I would give it another star or two but two things really turn me off here. 1. I’ve attempted to order the pizza roll on 3 different occasions an it’s always sold out. This probably means it’s pretty good but I guess most of us will never know. If something is this good an popular it might be a good idea to make more so you can get through the night without running out an looking bad. I understand if I happened once but 3 times in a row is reflecting poorly on the chefs abilities to gauge his patrons needs. Im sure some think that running out is s good thing but it’s not. It upsets people who are set on having something that’s on the menu that’s not. Keep in mind that all 3 times have been on Friday an Saturday night. Each time I ate elsewhere so that’s around $ 100(combined) in orders left on the table for another restaurant to swoop up. An that’s just me, imagine how much is being left on the table by all others. 2. The fact the this establishment stops taking phone orders at 8:30pm on Friday an Saturday’s is a joke! This is earlier than all other places in Anthem. Besides the chain pizza places in Anthem all pizza joints close at 9pm. I just can’t understand why pizza places would close this early, especially the new kid on the block. The way places come an go in Anthem you would think the new kids would want to be grabbing as big of piece of pie as possible. But they are closing the doors earlier than anyone but denying orders at 8:30. Add the money being left on the table it shutting the doors so early with the money being lost from running out of popular items an I’m sure it would be staggering. Sadly this is probably going to be the difference in Gio Pizza’s doors staying open past that critical 1st year. It’s hard enough to get Anthems support for good restaurants which make the odds of failure even higher. Tonight’s non existent dining experience has led to me most likely not dialing their number again so add that to the list money list an your talking 1000’s if they manage to survive. Of course these are my personal opinions an working in the business since eighteen I just might know a thing or two. But we all know what opinions are like an everybody got one.

We are from the east coast. We know good pizza. This place is awesome! Probably the best pizza I have had in Arizona! It’s a little hidden over on the west side… so make your way over there! We want them to succeed. If they can add gluten free that would help their business. A lot of families like mine can’t go there as often because we have celiac to think of. Hopefully they will start to accommodate that and it will be good!

I had been hearing about Gio’s for about a week and was really eager to try it. I took the family for dinner and was very pleased with my meal. I ordered the Caprese Pizza, the Napolitano with pepperoni, and the Caprese Salad. The Caprese Pizza was really great! The pizza had a really nice garlic flavor and the ingredients were really fresh, the tomatoes, the basil, all of it. The pepperoni, ehh, you might as well go to Rays for a pizza like that. And the salad, again, nothing fantastic, but the ingredients were nice and fresh. As for the establishment itself. The staff is really friendly and very willing to help with whatever. There is a lack of seating which is hard for going out with a family, but you can always take your pizza home. All in all, the pizza is a little on the pricy side, but it is defiantly worth trying at least once to experience some good food and some fun people.

Oh-OH-Spaghetti Rolls!(like garlic knots, spaghetti and pizza had a baby)($ 4.95) Oh my… Stuffed pizzas… big enough to feed godzilla packed with goodness($ 4.95) Drum Roll… The above were all great… but both of us enjoyed the white pizza slice the most! The Bianco Neve was unlike any white pizza I ever had before due to the really magical smooth wonderful ricotta cheese on it kissed with olive oil and the right amount of garlic and mozzarella. I did add a little salt, pepper and a few pepper flakes to it to suit me and it was really special. The Low Downs– The plain slice of pizza was just ok and nothing special. Not bad but nothing special and seemed very average against everything else we tried. This place is very small and already a HIT and ALREADYVERYPOPULAR! At the time of my visit they only had 5 tables(they do have room to add more) so many people weren’t able to get a table. They don’t have real silverware and you have to dine with plastic silverware. Normally that isn’t a big deal but it’s difficult to eat the the stuffed pizza with plastic silverware. Prices are low and portions are off the charts!(we took a bunch home) Destination Pizza across the street from the Anthem Outlet Mall! Absolutely worth a Fork!

Wow. How is a place this good hidden into a small pocket in anthem? This is hands down the best pizza I’ve ever eaten. Isaac and Tano helped me out at the register and prefaced the background of the restaurant while I was waiting… Every word made my mouth water more and by the time I got my food, my nose ears and eyes were all so happy. I got the stuffed pepperoni and ham with mozzarella slice. For $ 4.75 I was stuffed to my gills and offering out pieces to my coworkers who were flocking to it because of the smell and overall visual appeal of the pizza. Gio’s is the new spot. I will be a regular. They do things the right way and make you feel like family before you walk out of the door. They just get it. Went back today and it was even better. The pinwheels are absolute fire!!! Karim the cashier was helpful and knowledgeable of the menu.
