Since Tennessee has some weird aversion to selling wine in grocery stores(although beer is just fine to sell), I dashed into Antioch Wine & Liquors to find some cheap riesling for a ham glaze. I found what I was looking for, but it wasn’t easy. The organizational system here(or lack thereof) leaves much to be desired. Some wines are organized by type, while others are combined and organized by brand. The lady working behind the counter was pleasant enough, once I got her to take a break from watching Game of Thrones. Whilst completing my purchase, I was startled by a surprising«tweet» from her counter-top birdcage. I mean, I’m not opposed to birds in general, but I don’t think they belong here. Maybe a grimy pawn shop, but not a liquor store. Antioch Wine & Liquors was the best I could do today with limited time, but I’ll likely search out a better place next time.
