Since my last review of Foodmaxx problem of people loitering in front of the store, things have changed for the better. Security has been placed and I don’t see people just hanging out trying to cause problems. I feel safer knowing that the company cared enough to keep their customers safe and I am very grateful. Thank you!

This supermarket is not like other FoodMaxx locations in the bay area. It used to be a Lucky’s Supermarket, now it’s a FoodMaxx. This store is actually one of the places to shop at. Although, it is in need of a repair

This place is a joke. I come here all the time because it’s close to home. The employees are good for the most part but some are a joke and their ok w lines being down the isles. So frustrating

Bad customer service! I thought maybe I just caught one of the employees on a bad day but apparently that’s not the case. Yet again I come shopping at Foodmaxx and get so disappointed in the attitudes all their employees seem to have. Today the manaaer was on the register and wanted to get off so he asked a female employee to take over and she wasn’t too happy about it. She scanned my items tossing them down the conveyer belt like trash. Not only was she unfriendly towards me she was obviously angry and felt it was my fault. I think from now on I’ll take a few extra minutes to drive to windows I’m done with this place.

2 times out 5 I have purchased the rotisserie chicken and it was brown on the outside and bloody in the inside. Take it back with their packaging with their name all over it and a receipt and all I got was attitude. They are not sorry and they don’t care. Well we won’t be back and neither will my family members in the area. this is ridiculous. the place constantly smells like sewage, I should have known better.

Nice big roomy supermarket. The cashier will ring up your purchase and you bag them. Surprising the lines move faster than Safeway even with people with more items.
Selections of product are good but one downside is pay attention to your surroundings when you’re outside walking in and walking out. There’s usually some questionable people standing outside, and the few times I’ve been there, there’s a strong odor of marijuana.

Zero stars should be something. I went to this location. I had to use the bathroom after my transaction. It should have been just this. Unfortunately, I had eaten at Popeyes earlier. Use your imagination. I had to go. It was just then. After checkout. My card should have gone through.
Apparently, this is not the truth.
My intestinal distress held up the line for no reason.

Apparently, there is no manager to ease your pain. You will poop and hold the line.
WTF? You ask… As do I.

My preferred store is Winco in Brentwood but this is a close second due to convenience to where I live. For years I drove by FoodMaxx as if it didn’t exist until my nanny told me she had to go there, and that I should give it a try. Lots of fresh produce and the aisles are fully stocked. I was also able to find sourdough rounds already stuffed with cheese and jalapenos that I had to bring to a potluck. I orig was looking for sourdough rounds and was going to do the recipe myself and when I asked the guy stocking bread where the rounds were, he asked me what I was trying to make and I told him. He said if you want to save time, they sell it already done. HELLO YES, I AM ALREADY RUNNING LATE with this dish. I bought two!
The area is not the greatest but it all depends when you go. Could have potentally shady people wandering about. It’s walking distance to the high school so plan on that area being packed on school days at 3pm. Best time to go with less chance of problems would be early morning during the week (Gee this is anywhere in Antioch! LOL) There is also a smoke shop in the area which probably doesn’t help any! I am still giving it 4 stars because the type of people that shop there can be anywhere. Doesn’t affect the quality of the food or the service.

I went for potato salad really quick to go with my fried chicken and thank goodness they had it! I was satisfied for dinner that night.
*Side note, I realize it was a ghetto dinner. I don’t care though! We all love fried chicken!

Went to, I kid you not, 4 different supermarkets looking for frozen puff pastry and could not, for the life of me, find it.
But thank God, I walked in and there, on a well-​stocked shelf, are their frozen puff pastries.
Plenty Plenty Plenty of parking.
The store reminds me of Food 4 Less in southern california: Large, open, and have super high ceilings.
Unlike a wholesale store, these have produce, including fresh herbs, available in small amounts.
The selection is as in a regular supermarket but the prices are lower.

I love shopping here, they have really good prices! And on top of that WONDERFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!
I was overcharged, and they refunded everything! No Hassle or anything. I was already a loyal customer but after this… I appreciate shopping there more.

Yall is to high wtf man to to high wow !!!

When this was Lucky’s we seldom went in though I am not sure why. Well one day after leaving Schooners we needed just one thing and headed to Lucky’s only to find out it is now Food Maxx. I am not sure what the difference is (the ownership is the same), just a different vibe. Surprisingly there is no deli. That is not a big problem for us, just surprising. Prices are good, it is spic and span. The layout is something we will have to get used to. It is nice to have some place other than Safeway that is close to home for a quick thing or two.
Overall, Winco will still be our main grocery store but Food Maxx is a nice addition as it is close to us and a LOT less expensive than Safeway.

Today is the opening day for THIS FoodMaxx location. They had a big celebration with ribbon cutting, foods and drinks (no alcohol… sorry), a radio station playing music, and samples for the shoppers to enjoy.
The inside of the store was overall clean, except for one area. By the meat dept. and the fresh Hispanic cheeses was spilt yellow colored liquid on the floor. I can only guess what it actually was… chicken drippings… samples of something that someone split? I don’t know. All I know is that my kids slipped on it. Not a good way to make a good first impression.
Luckily for the store, we spent more time to check out the rest of the store. We found the prices to be competitive (and sometimes better) than WinCo. It just depends what you are shopping for. The employees that we encountered were all friendly.
One last thing, they are opened 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. That could be a plus or a minus depending on the situation. Either way, only time will tell…
