If you’ve ever been initially run off by the larger crowds on the weekend nights I would suggest you stop in Sunday-Wednesday. Very laid back fun crowd without being packed!

I have come here few times with my buddy. As my friend owns a lake house in Antioch on Huntley Lake so this bar isn’t to far for us. We usually come mid day for a few hours. Because the better parties are with the lake house. But It’s a good place to come during Spring & Summer no doubt. I will have to experience this bar during the evening hours still to come.

Cute bartenders, insane drink specials, great food. How could you get better than that? I frequent here and so do a lot of the other locals. A must stop for any vacationer or a local that hasn’t experienced it’s Northwoods bar feel! Really good breakfast on Saturdays and Sundays. Live entertainment weekends. Good crowds on the weekends, chill atmosphere weeknights!

Where you go when you want to run into everyone you’ve been avoiding. Great place to face your high school insecurities while holding a PBR! I will tell you though, the food is good, really good. This is my place to go for great bar food. The cook knows what’s up, his tacos are great. Their bloody Mary’s are good too. I love the lodge theme, it’s a good feel. The bar is very narrow so it can be quite intimate. There are two separate bars which is nice and a lovely back porch area. I wish there was a roof top bar, I feel like that is what would really move this place further.

The service and ambiance were great but the food was OK. I had the turkey club and it was really dry and without much flavor. My wife tried the Italian beef sandwich. That one was better but it was nothing special. But again, I do have to commend them for great service.

Stopped in for lunch today because we were in the area. The atmosphere here is great. Being a huge outdoorsman I love the log cabin feel and taxidermy on the walls. Several TV’s made for good entertainment. I ordered the grilled cheese and a soft drink. The drink was really bad like the syrup was running out or something and my grilled cheese had more black burnt on it then anything. The fries were the highlight of my lunch. The bartender seemed extremely occupied with her cell phone and other things and didn’t seem to notice the stack of black burnt bread I set on a napkin on the edge of the bar until we I was done eating. She did take half off my sandwich for it but would have rather gotten anther one made to replace it. I will return on weekend nights for drinks and entertainment but not somewhere that I would ever go again to eat.

Come here often, but bartender tonight was more worried about her friend than helping the other 2 customers… beers are cheap, food is average.

We had a very good breakfast called the Big Bass. It had layers of biscuits and gravy with hash browns topped with eggs over easy. I could not finish it because it was so much and I was filled up the whole day. Our waitress — Vicky was extremely friendly and attentive. It was our first time here and we would definitely come back.

This place was amazing! My friend and I had been to 2 previous places looking for well-made drinks for a decent price and finally happened upon The Lodge. We didn’t have any food but the service was exceptional and the drinks were goooood(finally)! They were friendly, attentive, and were completely accommodating(as were the bouncers). We even asked the bartenders if they could make an RP and even though they weren’t familiar with it, they found out how to make it and we enjoyed those all night long! They were well organized, fast(even when it got crazy busy), played great music. they were just awesome. Now, we don’t live in Antioch, or IL for that matter. But everyime we come back to visit, the Lodge will definitely be our first choice! Thanks everyone for such a wonderful evening! ~The Cali Girls

Very dissappointed on my next visit, after the kitchen being closed for a long time due to a kitchen fire, it finally was open! Had all you can eat wings. They were allright. Kind of dry and not very spicy. The beer was so warm we could not even drink one. The coolers apparently are not working right. One of them was even missing the whole door with plastic covering the cooler door. Not the way to keep beer cold. Seems like it is time to invest in new coolers. The beer has become warmer and warmer with each visit but this time was the worst.

My friend and I started the day on the village annual Beer and BBQ walk. The Lodge was one of the places on the walk. I had never been there before, but my friend lives in town. Later that evening, we wanted some entertainment and drinks. Around 8:30, it seemed most places in town were quite dead, so we decided to check out The Lodge for a drink or two. We walked in and found out there was a special celebration for both co-owner’s birthdays. The bar was offering free(select) drinks until a designated time. They also had some good monthly specials. Since we had just eaten, we didn’t order food and instead took advantage of the free drinks. After the free drink time had ended, we continued to order drinks and later had a plate of fried veggies as a snack. Even with the crowd, our waitress was pleasant and came around just as we needed her One of the owners was very visible and walked around talking to customers. I took a photo of him with my girlfriend. He was very sociable and pleasant. The place has a great menu, a nice selection of beverages, and was large and roomy. Just the kind of place I like to frequently visit. And most likely, I will be back.

My fiancé and I look forward to coming here during the week for an after dinner drink to hang and converse with Jen. She’s down to earth a cool to hang with.

I have a standing weekly early Sunday morning date here with my husband. I always get the large Bloody Mary with the Miller Lite chaser along with the Little Bass plate. Our waitress considers us regulars now and knows our orders when we walk in the door(I don’t know if this is a good thing or a bad thing, lol). I have gone in at several times of the day(afternoon, evenings, weeknights, weekends). It can get quite noisy and most definitely cramped during the weekends… but it’s a really great location for an early morning date on Sunday mornings(especially before 8am) Plus… their Bloody Marys and their Little Bass plates ROCK(especially if you ask for corned beef hash as a side!)

This place seems like your typical dive-y sports bar and it is in many ways but the food is just excellent! My favorite is the Chicken Angelina and the Bear Burger is pretty amazing also. The Onion rings are amazing also. If you can get past the long waits, or generally being unnoticed by any waitstaff until you start tossing lit matches at the bartenders(they probably prefer money?) to get your order taken, it is totally worth the stop.

If you’re looking for a place to get loud and stupid drunk with others who are loud and stupid drunk, this is your place. Otherwise think twice. My adult son and I had been left to fend for ourselves for dinner one night so we decided to give The Lodge a try. The menu looked good, but in reality the food was just mediocre. Except for the french fries, which were pretty bad: really REALLY over salted and overdone. Our server was quite cheerful and pleasant but not very attentive; we ended up waiting to be noticed far more than was warrented given that they weren’t very busy. I’ve been to north woods lodges and north woods dives. The Lodge is trying to look like the former but is more like the later, but without the rustic charm. The décor is more like a TGI Friday’s, with walls full of faux north-woodsy crap. The seating and tables are pretty beat up and uncomfortable. I’ll be avoiding this place.

This is my favorite local spot. It’s not anything special and that’s what gives it the charm I love. There is no seating policy, just seat yourself except for the patio. The servers seat you out there and they have cameras to keep an eye on you so your drink is never empty. Food is standard bar food serving breakfast on the weekends only. Service is always great, I’ve never been ignored or treated poorly. They bloody Mary’s are a must! Just like the menu says they are a meal in its self.

When you walk in you feel like you are in a lodge in the Great White North but you are actually just on Main Street Antioch. This place bleeds wood and there is lots of it… on the walls and the ceiling… everywhere you look there is wood. It makes me want to drink a beer and maybe have a shot too. Above the center of the bar is a giant canoe hanging, as I was drinking my beer I kept thinking I hope that those 4 screws up there don’t come loose as I am sitting here. But if I was going to go out in a bar room accident, why not have a giant canoe with Christmas lights fall on my head. I would be on the front page of every local newspaper… a local legend! I really love all of the dead animals mounted around the walls. There is a giant bear pelt hanging like it is jumping at you. During the holidays most of the animals are all wearing Christmas hats, which is what you would expect in the Great White North. I also love the giant moose on the back wall… I keep expecting him to sing like at the Country Bear Jamboree but maybe he only starts singing if I drink way too much. This bar also has tons of specials, so check the website. On Thursday’s they have 35 cent wings with a bunch of flavors to choose from. Personally I am a Buffalo Wing flavor guy, so I stuck to the original. They are good for a deal but not the best I have ever had. Recently we were lucky enough to attend the Customer Appreciation Party. It was a fun time. There was a DJ playing some fun tunes and Santa was there calling out raffle tickets and giving out prizes to the patrons. My little one even got to go up and work the microphone. She was such a natural calling out the winning numbers. For all of her hard work Santa gave her a Vodka T-shirt and a Vodka keychain. I had to laugh when she wanted to wear it in the bar. I am going to be in big trouble as this one gets older. She also admitted to me in the car ride home that Santa told her that the key chain was for me but she decided that she was going to keep it. I totally had to laugh. During the party, there were one dollar draft beers, which was a great deal. There was also a free sandwich, if you were lucky enough to have a VIP ticket. I had the roast beef sandwich with french fries. It was really good. I must admit that the french fries rocked. They looked like McDonald’s fries but were like 100% better. I think it was the oil because they were really fresh and tasty. They also offer about 6 different kids meals. I was a little let down because they were out of applesauce but my little one was very happy to get french fries. She had the chicken fingers and they were really good. I was offered a taste so I figured I better jump in on it. My wife ordered the French Onion soup but it was not her favorite. I had to finish it. I wish she would have ordered the Wisconsin Cheese soup because I am sure that would have been amazing. The food here is not going to win any awards but it is what I would expect for typical bar food. The customer appreciation party got really packed and I knew it was time to get out while we still could but not before we had a great time. I also must throw out a thank you to our waitress Wendy who was very sweet and took good care of us. Thank you for making our night a good time. I can hardly wait to come back and check out their newly expanded room. They are remodeling the storefront next door and adding in a game room, more bathrooms and more tables for people to sit at. I also hear that you will be able to rent out the room for parties up to 70 people and there will be a special dinner menu after 5pm. So that sounds very exciting. The downtown area in Antioch is full of great businesses and the Lodge of Antioch is just one of many that exist. Antioch is quickly becoming my favorite main street town right after Disney World Main Street USA. It is that amazing!!!

We were here for a pub crawl– so there wasn’t time to order something from their full menu. Instead the«starters» section of the menu looked good with quite a few unusual selections such as fried pickles, white cheese curds and duck tenders. In spite of the large group descending in a matter of minutes– I felt that the waitstaff was friendly and very efficient. This is certainly worth noting since it seems to be the exception rather than the rule in Northern Lake County. We ordered the cheddar cheese broccoli bites which look like chicken nuggets but are(I feel) far tastier. I’d advise to try them with ranch dipping sauce. Note: $ 1 domestic bottles on Weds, $ 1 tacos and $ 3.95 burgers on Sunday(other days have specials too). I felt that this is a great place to stop for a bite and a beer. If you are in the area, why not stop in.
