One of the best places to go in town. Polite staff, great food, and good prices. I will definitely continue to dine here. This place is way better than the other buffet in antioch. Chow me in chef is awesome, and the sushi is great.

Food is loaded with MSG, salt and oil. The only thing I would eat again is sesame balls. Their fruit is not even fresh. The white rice smells like garbage. Stay away from this place and hope for a new and better restaurant at this spot.

It’s a buffet. Quantity over quality the food is okay but holy shit is the place unsanitary I went in today and I saw that the avacado used in the california roll was ROTTEN Brown, black, grey avacado. It smelled horrible. The rest of the food is pretty generic and subpar. I wouldn’t recommend this place. It’s unsanitary. It’s gross. The staff is rude.

Read the newer reviews(from 2015) and decided to give it a try. It looks like they’ve really improved and cleaned up the place from the negative reviews from previous years. It’s not the most spotless, clean restaurant, but it’s decent. Did not try everything, did not try any deserts, but the ones I did try were good. There’s a variety of selections. There were some dishes that did look like it was under the heat lamp too long, and those should be avoided.

Hadn’t been here in years, was passing through Antioch and decided to stop by. The food tasted good and they had the same line up as several years ago. I docked a star due to the lack of change and the over zealous server who kept come by clearing the table, that wasn’t the issue he kept reaching over the plate of my cousin who was eating. Overall, I would go back.

They have improve so much so better come in and try. Their food is freshly cooked daily and tastes better compared to other buffets in the area. Good value for your money.

Had dinner here for the first, dinner was very good. Very good selection of food. The only reason why I did not give it 5 stars was the dessert. Some cookies tasted stale and the chocolate pudding was rancid.

The place looks nice, and really friendly service, but food wasn’t too good. Not too many options, and no sweet and sour for us to grab like other ones I’ve been to. But that’s just me.

My son and myself are big lovers of Chinese food, so he and my grand kids thought we’d give this place a try. We’ve mainly frequented places over in Solano, Napa, and Marin Counties for Chinese restaurants, and have found many that were very good and others that needed work. However, when we ate here, we were very impressed at the size of their layout, the amount of food available, the helpfulness and politeness of staff, and how good the food tasted. We were even saying we thought it was better than any place we’d been to in some time, and plan to return again. It just so happens that today is Valentines Day, and my fiancé, our room mate, and her boyfriend are planning on eating there tonight. They are really looking forward to it and I am very ready to return.

I’ve came before many times, and most times had pleasant experience but today we arrived at 8PM and they don’t close until 10 there was no food selection and when we asked the manager to cook more chow mein she had an attitude and was rude about it. Chow mien was brought out and tastes horrible! Horrible service as well! If I could it would be NOSTARS.

I’m not sure where all of the bad reviews are coming from. It makes me wonder if they have competition which is posting bad stuff about them. Or, maybe it varies depending on who is working there at any given time? It’s not upscale by any means, but my single experience was not bad at all. Well, I’m a vegetarian and many vegetarians will not go to a Chinese buffet because most if not all of the dishes will have meat in them. You can either just pick from some of the items such as from the salad bar and dessert bar and then have some noodles and rice or you can skip it. Well, I do like to fill up for cheap so I make the compromise. Well, most of the time a Chinese buffet will not serve a tofu dish because somebody will complain that there is a dish in the buffet which does not have meat in it. But they did this time which was fried tofu and eggplant. That just happens to be one of my favorite Chinese dishes. I love tofu and I love eggplant. I could not complain about that. Note that a Chinese buffet is not an Indian buffet whereas in an Indian buffet because of culture and religion they practically feel compelled to offer several vegetarian options, even if they are also offering several meat options. There also was a kind of «sushi» which had cream cheese it it but not meat. I ate some of those. I liked them alot. Ofcourse there were french fries and onion rings. There were some other things for me to eat as well. I don’t know how often it is an occurrence for them to have a few extra vegetarian options, but I felt that they had more vegetarian options this time than most other Chinese buffets that I’ve been to. The bathrooms here were clean. This is unlike the last Chinese buffet which I went to. I went there twice and both times the restroom smelt terrible. Overall the place was clean. Overall the staff at New Oriental Buffet were attentive enough. The price was not too bad. I think it was something like $ 8.50 for lunch. Drink is $ 1.00 with refills. You need to read the sign which posts the prices carefully. My one complaint was the the egg foo yung were not completely cooked on the inside, and the egg was a little runny. I don’t eat egg which is not fully cooked. But it was made up for by another dish which was scrambled eggs and cooked tomatoes. Not bad on rice with a little bit of hot sauce to me.

Okay so here’s the deal fellow Unilocalers. If you want to go to a place with good Chinese food this is not the place!!! The food although it looks disgusting it taste disgusting too! Don’t waste your money! Ice cream machine is shooting out watery ice cream, food taste is mediocre at best and prices are high. Waste of money.

Oh hell no. My sister, my cousin, and I came here for some lunch. Sister had a slice of their pizza and it had some nasty ass mold! They’re all over here trying to say that it’s «cabbage sauce» the fuck? Why u put cabbage sauce on a pizza. And why is it only on two random ass spots? Fuck this place and their nasty ass food!!!

–There were bugs on the sushi, and the server just took it in her hands and laughed as she walked away. –Their cooked sea food was all cold –Their«jalapeño chicken» was RAW(you can see slimy stuff inside the chicken when you split it open) –The place was dirty: no one was cleaning up the place –the spoons were dirty(especially the plastic/disposable ice cream spoons: DIRTY) –They CHARGE $ 1 for tap water!!! –Made me sick after eating here: and it made me miss work the next day!!! Don’t believe the«penny saver» coupon! DON’T GOHERE!

The reviews are right. A lot of the food served taste pretty bad or old especially the desserts(ice cream, cake, etc).

I was disappointed again. I thought with the new remodel the food was going to get better. Some of the Chinese food is ok, but don’t eat the Sushi! I didn’t know Salmon is supposed to be white. Yuck! Will never go there again.

I should never forget that one gets that which one pays for. A $ 7.99 senior lunch was perhaps a little overpriced with the non-refillable drink. The lunch visit started with a very severe lady at the front desk who looked like she had just sucked on a sour lemon. Her verbal and very public challenge to my qualification as a 62+ senior was interesting and a first in my recent experience as someone who has been collecting social security for several years. Food choices did not include the advertised shrimp and crab legs but heck, what does one get for $ 7.99. Fruit and salad choices were very limited but most of the conventional chinese choices were well represented. Sushi and sashimi were absent. Not on my list for another visit.

My grandpa loved this place but I didn’t, sorry grandpa. He went so often, though, that he became a regular and they recognized him. The food is sub par and it’s always filled with pasty church folks(no offense). It’s always hot and humid in there and the food is strange and weird tasting… wouldn’t recommend this place.

DISGUSTING! ! ! I was looking for the knife for the potroast, asked the server behind the counter & said he would send someone to look at it, when he wasn’t even doing anything! I tell my waitress the knife was missing, she heads over to the potroast & the server saw her & went over, they fished out the knife that had dropped in the potroasts broth, they wiped it down & put it back! Wtf??? People’s hand were all over that knife & they didn’t even bother to replace it or wash it! To make matters worse after they did that they LAUGHED about it & walked away! This place is raunchy! Don’t believe me, go look for yourselves at the pics I posted of this nasty place! Someone please call the health department ASAP!
