Pooch N Purr

Brought my Ridgeback-​Pit Babygirl here to get here nails done short notice. (She never lets me clip them at home.) We walked right in — the lady helped us quick, extremely friendly. Sat down on the floor to her level. She warmed up to her instantly and allowed her to get the job done with out any fuss. Gave her love, complimented her, made the kid feel good. I’m not comfortable with just anyone handling her at all, but the woman gave vibes as if she knew us already and anyone with dogs knows how important that is.
This is not a BS petsmart or some highclass grooming place I always get looks at in when I walk in with a Pit and instantly made felt uncomfortable asking for papers on her to «make sure she has her shots in case she bites». As if I have time to run back home and find that nor has she ever bit anyone. This is a local business where they get the job done and make you kinda feel like you just stopped in at a friends shop.
That’s the kind of business I want to support.
I’ll be back inbetween travels for sure.

Took my puppy in for his third cut from these people, and they decided to only cut around his face and privates. Still charged me the full amount, but neglected to cut my dogs hair. NOT ACCEPTABLE. Sorry you thought I wouldn’t notice, bad move on your part. The better news is that because of you I will be taking up grooming myself, and offer a better business alternative.

We’ve been here twice with our golden doodle and both times she was absolutely gorgeous after the grooming. Awesome job, which means we’ll be going there for a third time soon. I would have extended 5 stars, but the ‘as good as it gets’ comes with consistency. I’ll update the review after three more visits, but so far they are doing a very good job with the grooming!

These are the nicest sweetest people. They get me in super fast. I love watching how much care they give the dogs and listening to them talk to them, reassuring them when they are getting their nails cut or whatever the dog doesn’t like. They really are so kind and loving to them.

Took my 2 dogs here today and they loved it one got his nails clipped and one got the works she got groomed and left looking and smelling amazing I will def be back in the future and will recommend Any one looking for a good groomer in the Antioch area thanks again guys

First of all, people who get so uptight about their dogs hair cut not going well need to relax. If you don’t like it, it’s just hair and it will grow back. Geez.
Second of all, to be honest I am particular about my Shih Tzu getting her hair cut since she had only gone to one lady since she was a pup. Anyhow, the first time they did about 80% of what I asked and had no problem fixing what I wasn’t happy about. The next time I took her in, I made it a point to be more specific about what I wanted and she was just right.
Groomers are not mind readers. They do the best they can with an animal that does not always mind them or behave and cannot communicate. Your little dog may be a little shit when you leave and they do what they can. So, be polite, specific, and understand that they are working with moving animals. If it doesn’t come out right the first time they have no problem trying to fix it. And if you still aren’t happy, well then go somewhere else. But blasting a negative review and telling people «beware» is unfair and a bit ridiculous.

Very disappointed with this visit. This is the second time I have taken my three cocker spaniels to this groomer. The first time it was «Wow! What a terrific job.» I thought I had found the answer to my dogs’ grooming. This time, they literallychopped their beautiful hair down anywhere from a ¼ of an inch to an inch, no consistency whatsoever. Further, one of my dogs has shave burns on her shoulder. Totally inexcusable. I am so disappointed in the quality of the grooming that I will never be back there again.
These people are supposed to be professionals. The man/​boy has no business grooming cockers as he has no idea what the heck he is doing. The first thing he asked when I brought them in was about shortening their hair. I said no. What part of no does this guy not understand.
Bad choice to take your dog here. Beware!!!

I have to say I had mixed feelings walking into the shop with my Pekingese. So I asked if I could stay and wait for her to be done. It turns out there was no need to worry. The groomer was wonderful with my baby. She talked to he the whole time. And boy was she fast. My little Pekingese never looked better. And she wasn’t stressed like she usually is at the groomers. Thank you so much for such professional service!!!

The employees at pooch and purr are very nice and respectful they took very good care of my dog chance very well I will never take my dog any were else I’ve found my dog grooming service I do not need to look any further thanks pooch and purr for the great service

I thought I had finally found a great groomer. A friendly staff, and, according to the owner, a family with several years experience in the grooming business. I have been bringing my Shih Tzu here for the past several months. Reasonable prices and my baby always smells and looks great. Today, as my husband arrived to drop off my dog for his appointment, he came upon the staff, standing right in front of the front door, smoking pot. REALLY!!! Had it been me, I would have snapped a picture and plastered it all over this review. How dare you allow your staff to get high right in front of your building knowing you have scheduled clients due to arrive. So pissed off that my husband didn’t just leave. God only knows if they handled my dog under the influence of a controlled substance. It’s complete and total BULLSHIT!!!
I called and left a voicemail expressing my discontent. I have yet to hear from the owner.
