Service is good, food comes fast, good selection, prices are fair. Here’s the deal ill bump you guys to 5 stars if you add meat to your pancit, turn up the temp(meaning cooler) for the drinks in the fridge, they were almost room temp & add ac, it was pretty hot in the restaurant, & they keep the doors open, but I don’t feel like swatting flies while I eat.

A tasty new Filipino place. Spartan inside, but well-made, tasty food. Give it a try.

So excited to find a Filipino restaurant in Antioch! We had a combo plate that included pancit, lumpia and fried chicken, tocilog, tapsilog, and sisig. All items were made fresh to order and were very tasty. The lumpia was just okay. I’ve had better. The tapsilog was a little on the salty side, but paired with the garlic rice, it was still perfectly edible. The pancit was very good. The sisig was tasty, could use a little more heat, but that’s just my opinion. Food took awhile to get because they cook each order as it comes in. Like a previous poster, I also asked for a cup of water, and was refused. They told me I had to buy bottled water. To me, that’s worth the –1 star. If they just buy some cups and serve ice water as requested, this would be a 5-star review. Hopefully, they fix that. Service was friendly. Definitely in a shady part of town. We ate there, but would probably call ahead and get it to go next time.

I have been craving halo-halo since I saw Anthony Bourdain waxing positively joyous about it in his new show’s Koreatown episode. I am, however, in the know and I am aware that Jollibee’s halo-halo is far from the best there is. I have heard of What the Fork here on Unilocal and my father visited last week and indicated it was pretty good. So off to What the Fork I went with the daughter. Do NOT go here starving. You WILL want everything. You WILL order too much food. You WILL eat too much food. You WILL feel guilty for having no self-discipline. You WILL be happy, regardless. I usually do not feel this way about Filipino restaurants, and not because I don’t want to support Filipino establishments. It is because I refuse to pay money for something that my mom cooks way better than any Filipino restaurant chefs(hey, my mom is the best cook as far as I am concerned). We ordered the specials of the day — chicken inasal and sisig — and Combo 7, which is two pieces of fried chicken, pancit bacon, and three pieces of lumpia. Of course, we also ordered halo-halo(it was my mission of the day, after all). The sisig was so good and transported me back to the days when I would hang out with my uncles while they were drinking and I would demolish almost all of the sisig. The pancit bacon was interesting, in a good way. It was What the Fork’s attempt to Americanize pancit, and it was delicious. The fried chicken was quite good as well, with crispy, peppery skin and tender, moist meat. The chicken inasal was delicious, as well. The halo-halo, while still not good enough for me to stop my quest for the best halo-halo in town, is still better than Jollibee’s. The lumpia is okay, nothing compared to my mom’s, but will satisfy people who want a quick lumpia fix. Now to the not-so-good. The chicken inasal arrived at our table initially undercooked, with blood oozing out after the first cut. They were very apologetic, though, and fixed the problem right away. The other qualms I have are that they have no knives(I mean, I know we are Filipino and usually just eat with a fork and spoon, but knives are important, too!); they have no tap water(that one made me go WTF in my head, and the F most certainly did not stand for«fork»); and they served us the halo-halo even before the meal was served(their rationale was so that the ice can start melting and that it would be easier for us to mix the ingredients, but isn’t that the whole point of eating halo-halo?). In the end, though, I can live with these things since I know they are new and are still trying to get their stuff together. I will be going back to What the Fork on days when I am craving for sisig and chicken inasal. I am curious about the other things in their menu, too. I commend them for serving reasonably priced and freshly prepared delicious home-style Filipino food. Here’s to hoping that they stay in business for a while.

What the Fork. What the fork is that? It’s the new Filipino restaurant that opened up in Antioch a week ago and it was what popped up when I Unilocal’d Filipino Food: 5STARS Bacon Pancit… Brilliant! They mix Filipino and American food here so you get dishes like AdoboSilog. Adobo mix of pork chicken with eggs and garlic rice. I tried both dishes and was really pleased that it was made to order… not just there sitting in some warming tray as I’m not a big fan of those type of establishments. Portions pretty nice and had leftovers to take home. Prices very reasonable. 3 combo plates I bought came to unddr $ 23 and that included drink and Halo Halo. Ambiance/Service– 2.5 Stars .the area where restaurant is at is in a really run down sketchy strip mall. ¾ of the stores are vacant. There was vagrants milling around. One of them selling cell phones from his coat! I was a little hesitant to get out from the car. Glad I did though. The interior of the restaurant is the total opposite. Bright, clean and welcoming. The staff friendly. No table service. Place and pick up your order at counter when ready. Bus your own tables as well. Overall 3.5 if you can get over the location. rounding up though to 4 for the creative dishes and delicious food.

My son and I went to What the Fork Sunday and got the Fried Chicken combo with Pancit Bihon and Lumpia. It was very tasty and although he is only 3.75 he ate all of my meal and I had to order another one. Other people at the restaurant commented on how good an eater he was. My reply was that he ate really well when he likes the food. He devoured the chicken which was well cooked and still moist and the noodles. He didn’t eat as many lumpia as I expected but I think that is because he ate so much chicken and pancit. Next time I am in the area I will definitely go back. The parking options on the survey don’t have an option for shared parking lot… it is in an outdoor mall. They took our order at the counter and then brought us our food.
