What do I like about this place… EVERYTHING. The service is great, the food is amazing. They are priced really well and are totally worth it. Their iced thai coffee is to die for, I recommend this 100%.

First visit to Go Vegan. Being dairy and gluten free, it’s hard to find restaurants I enjoy. Tonight, though, was different. Had a great time and great meal without the stress. And, it was a nice surprise that hubby(who is neither) loved everything. One thing I’d love to see them do is to asterisk gluten free options on the menu.

I am a big fan. It is great to have a place like this around the area. The food is yummy and the owners and staff are great. My favorite is the mixed veggie fried brown rice. My son loves the veggie burger and the garlic noodles. So far I haven’t had a bad dish. I will be a returning customer without question. 2 thumbs up!

This place is great! Because of my food choices, I don’t eat out much. If I do go out, there’s little available to me on the menu. Not here! I can eat anything on their menu. No MSG, No GMO’s, all vegan, all fresh. What I like best us the taste, portion size, and quality of the food. I went last week with 4 friends, we all ate well, we all ended up taking leftovers home and our total bill for 4 people was $ 24.00. Amazing! Love this place!

I love this place because of the great food and cheap prices. You can never go wrong with the mojo mojo, kale salad, fried rice and beef stew. The prices are also affordable! Try anything on the menu and you can’t go wrong.

My boyfriend and I had a great experience with Go Vegan. I am still pretty new to my recent vegan life style change and I was very impressed; my boyfriend(who is not a Vegan) was equally satisfied. We ordered: Egg rolls Pad Thai Deep fried bananas

Service here is the best. I like the Pad Thai in particular. What I like about this place is their variety in the menu. They have Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese and Thai dishes, all vegan Only reason I took away one star is because the prices are a bit high

Unlike most vegan establishments, the food here is always full of flavor, hardly bland. I heard the owner often grows their vegetables themselves. No wonder. The ingredients are non GMO, non Dairy and you can get a ton of things gluten free too. I really appreciate having this place to go to! Their service is also always so friendly and done with love and grace. Highly recommended!!!

Just ordered pick-up from here tonight, first time customer. We ordered: Egg Rolls(Dipping sauce was best I’ve had!) Wonton Soup Mango Salad(Delicious, healthy choice) Seaweed Salad Lemongrass Chicken Banana Ice Cream(Lactose Intolerant? Their Ice Cream is Yummy, Filling, Artistic and won’t hurt your tummy!) Avocado Smoothie(My 4 year old and I sucked it dry!) We will be ordering here a lot. Perfect for maternity leave/postpartum/surgery recovery – healthy and quick pick-up. Easy Peezy. Took less time than pizza delivery. Great customer service over the phone, too.

I struggle for the right words to describe this place. The food, not only delicious and real tasting, had a beautiful presentation. The service, although a little slow, was very friendly, respectful and energetic. I wouldnt mind having this food at my wedding if they would do an order that big: p.

UPDATE09÷29÷15: I received a response from the owner regarding my review, he mocked me for reviewing steakhouses and bakeries. He also said he uses the same products as other restaurants around town. First, if you read my prior reviews you can see that all my food reviews(theres only 3) clearly indicate that I am vegetarian and egg-less. Regardless of my diet, my point is that it’s not right to advertise as a Vegan restaurant if you knowingly have products that contain eggs. Alot of vegetarians eat eggs BUT this is not advertised as only a vegetarian restaurant, it is advertised as VEGAN restaurant and is named«Go Vegan». I just want people who choose not to consume eggs to know that this place is not 100% vegan friendly. Also, instead of the owner responding with some type of concern or «we will look into the matter» he was crude and unprofessional. With that said, I will add poor customer service as another reason I will not visit this establishment. — BEWARE! For all strict vegans and lacto vegetarians please note that this restaurant does have some products that contain eggs. After enjoying this restaurant many times, I asked our server what«chicken» they used since I enjoyed it so much. They were very accommodating and brought the package to show us(see attached). I noticed that the«chicken» contains egg albumin powder. I later researched the ingredient and confirmed that it is in fact an egg product. I called the restaurant and asked to speak to the manager and explained to him that strict vegetarians and vegans visit this restaurant and expect no egg products. The manager responded with«a lot of vegetarians eat eggs now». I then mentioned that some people have egg allergies, and he responded with, «not that many people have egg allergies». If you are a strict vegan or lacto vegetarian please, please, please beware this this restaurant is not safe for you and does not take responsibility for what could be an honest error.

Randomly stopped here on our way home from Monterey. Definitely a hole-in-the-wall place, but glad Unilocal was there to help us find it! My strawberry soymilk smoothie was refreshing. I ordered a salad that was very beautiful and tasty. I would definitely go back if I was ever in the area.

Not exactly a classy area, and Google maps completely messed up the directions on how to get here(thanks Google!). A lot of these Asian vegan places are very samey, and this one isn’t a whole lot different, but it does make some effort to distinguish itself. There is a kids menu for starters, which has more western items on it(hot dog, etc). I ended up getting the thick noodles, which proved to be good, although not amazing — but certainly nothing to complain about. And hell, it was vegan without asking them to remove stuff as is usual at most Thai/Vietnamese places. Still, great to see a vegan spot in an area where there’s otherwise not much. Unfortunately, it’s rather out of the way for me, but if I do go back that way sometime, I’ll be sure to try more of the items.

First time here on a Friday around 2:30 p.m. I drove from the Sacramento area just to eat here and check out the area. Go Vegan is located in sort of a run down strip mall, so it’s not really in a nearby area that that you’ll want to hang out in before or after your meal. So I would recommend to come, eat and leave! I sat by a small table near the door and found it to be pretty pleasant. My server was also attentive and took care of me right away. For my appetizer, I ordered the Drumstick which was four drumsticks made of battered soy«chicken» and served with plum sauce. They were super good with just enough batter to give it a nice crunch without overpowering the soy chicken meat. For my main dish, I ordered the Vegan Chicken w/Lemongrass & Chili and was impressed. The lemongrass was very flavorful and memorable and the dish was served with just the right amount of spice(medium). I would absolutely come back here the next time I am in the area and look forward to trying other things on the menu.

Thanks Brandi, John B and fellow Unilocalers for recommending this place. We ate here yesterday and loved it! When we looked at the menu it seemed similar to Loving Huts’ menus. When we asked our server he said it wasn’t. He told us that a couple owned and ran the place. There were so many items on the menu – we had a hard time narrowing it down to just a couple of choices, We ordered: Fried Wonton filled with tofu and veggie ham and a lightly sweet sauce – so delicious! Kale salad — we loved it too! My vegan, kale loving husband declared it phenomenal! We also got the crunchy noodles with vegetables — perfect! I love any kind of crispy noodles and there was a nice variety of freshly sautéed veggies. The portions here are huge. Mr Rinky and I are big eaters and there was more than enough for us, especially with an order of brown rice. The service was friendly and helpful. Wish they weren’t so far away. We’d love to go there with about 8 – 10 people nd try lots of different appetizers and entrees. A child at the table next to us ordered a bowl of won ton soup — it looked so delicious. It must have been because she finished it. Although they have only been open a few months they already seem to have a loyal following! Next time we’re in Antioch(maybe at the nearby Black Diamond Mines) we’ll DEFINITELY set here again!

Ever since I found out about Go Vegan from reading John B.‘s review, I had it bookmarked and wanted to try it. I thought wow, Antioch of all places? But I’m glad more vegan spots are opening up! In order to avoid traffic, I decided the best time to go would be a weekend. So today, my fellow Unilocal friend and friend IRL(in real life), Brandi W., and I along with my BF ventured off to Antioch. The drive was pretty smooth, no traffic at all on this Sunday afternoon. We walked into the restaurant and while we waited a minute or so to be seated, a nearby customer proudly told us that it’s all non-GMO and they use some organic ingredients too. I thought that was a cool first impression! We went family style and ordered several dishes to share such as egg rolls, papaya salad, lemongrass chicken, fish claypot, pad thai and fried rice. We also ordered won ton soup which never came out but the owner apologized and we didn’t mind as we ordered too much! No biggie at all. I agree with Brandi W, the waiter seemed kinda new and nervous but he’ll get the hang of it. I enjoyed all of the dishes — they all seemed to have a spicy kick. Normally I can’t handle spicy foods but surprisingly I could handle these. My faves were the pad thai and I enjoyed the texture in the egg rolls — like a taro or potato texture. I also enjoyed the Vietnamese coffee and the fried banana we had for dessert. I thought the drive out to Antioch was worth it as we enjoyed the food. We may be venturing off to Antioch more often now!

An unassuming, humble restaurant full of delicious food, fanciful drinks, and infinite possibilities… this is the story of Go Vegan. The location is less than ideal for yours truly. Antioch isn’t the easiest place to get if you are car-less, but I was lucky enough to enlist the help of Rosanne P. and Richard A., some of the coolest vegan friends I know. They offered to take me here today, and I was super grateful, as I probably wouldn’t be able to try Go Vegan without some help in the automobile department. Despite a few hiccups in service, I quite enjoyed the food served here. We tried a little bit of everything, as the entire menu is 100% vegan. We decided to go family style so we could sample more items For starters, we opted for the Egg Rolls, the Papaya Salad, and the Won Ton Soup. Our waiter forgot to bring the soup, but as it turned out, we ordered TOO much food, so it wasn’t a big deal(he seemed kinda new and nervous, but I’m sure he will get the hang of the waiter game). For entrees, we went with the special Pad Thai, Lemongrass Chicken, Fish Claypot, and Combination Fried Rice. I loved the Pad Thai. The fake chicken was yummy! Mock meats are pretty hit or miss, but I enjoyed this version. The noodles were perfect: not soggy, not clumpy, but just right. The sauce was pretty light, so it didn’t feel heavy and overpowering like some other places. I would definitely order this again! My favorite dish of the day. The Fish Claypot was definitely another winner… the texture wasn’t overly fishy, but it was interesting. Not sure how to describe it, but it was tasty! Don’t let the name fool you, it’s delicious. The Combination Fried Rice is just that… fried rice. I thought it was a little overpriced for what you get, even though it’s a pretty heaping portion. This was the only thing I probably would not order again. The coffee with condensed milk was lovely! They didn’t give you the fancy dripper system to make it at your table in traditional Vietnamese style, which was a little disappointing, but it was still a hit. Coffee + sugar + almond milk(I think) = awesome awesome awesome! I think the papaya salad was a little spicy, as was the veggie chicken dish. I felt like my mouth was burning throughout the whole meal. I can usually handle some heat, so I would say a little lighter on the chilis so everyone can enjoy it, even those who prefer a mild sauce. The music was really awesome… it’s like 90s R&B and pop songs, but without the vocals. Sort of similar to the backing track for a karaōke bar. They were playing some All-4-One, a little Celine, a little Mariah… we had fun singing along and getting nostalgic. Very enjoyable tunes! The owner was really friendly and said sorry for the soup situation, but we instantly forgave him. Now I just need to make more friends in Contra Costa County who will bring me here for a lunch date!
